For this project I chose an awesome “make a wish” stamp set because I am forever making birthday cards. You really can't have too many birthday stamp sets. I wanted to create something cute and fun, but versatile for any occasion using as many of these adorable stamps as possible. This card could easily be used for Mother's Day, Graduation, Wedding, Thinking of you, or a Missing you card too! This set includes 18 stamps and I used 8 of them. How I made this card:

1. Using the card as a guide. Create card base from cardstock. Cut pink polka dot paper the same size and adhere to card base.
2. Cut black pattern paper and adhere to card.
3. Stamp cupcakes on white cardstock, color, add glitter glue and set aside to dry.
4. Cut black cardstock, cut pink shimmer cardstock, border punch, and adhere the two together.
5. Once dry, cut cupcake strip out and adhere to pink shimmer cardstock panel.
6. To create the fancy folded 3D shelf: cut pattern paper, fold like a zig zag at 1/2" down from the top and up from the bottom. Adhere the cupcake and shelf pieces together. In the picture you can't see the top fold, because it's covered by the cupcake panel, but it's adhered to the back of the cupcake panel. Then adhere the whole piece to the card.
7. Because I was using Versafine ink, I colored a strip of cardstock with a pink Copic marker first, Just a few streaks back and forth, let it dry for a few minutes, stamped the banner in black over the streaks, and then the sentiment so it wouldn’t smear. Cut it out and give it a little bend to make it bow and adhere to front of shelf with pop dots on each end.
8. Add embellishments: adhesive pearls, paper flower, rosette ribbon, glitter ribbon, and a black enamel dot.

Tip: Having the right stamping ink is just as important as having the correct paper. If you do not have the right products, you will most likely become frustrated when trying to color with Copic markers or any alcohol markers.  I recommend Memento or Tim Holtz Distress inks when working with Copic markers to prevent smearing and bleeding. But test what ink you've got first on scraps, it just might work. I forgot and used Versafine on this card and as you can see if you stay away from the black stamped outlines it won’t smear, but if you color over the lines or get too close they will smear into your image. And if you do smear, just cover it up with an embellishment, nobody but you will know.
