Happy Holidays everybody! Do you love pattern paper as much as I do?
I don’t know…I collect A LOT of it. So, now it’s time to use some of it. I mixed and matched teal green wood grain, red bandanna, a quilt print, and a candy cane print. WOW! I told you we were using A LOT of pattern paper, but I think they represent this holiday card pretty well. Don’t you? So get your prints out and see what you can come up with and post them to My Kraft Kloset Facebook page. I’d love to see them. I created this card for the Eat Cake Graphics design team. Using the card above as a guide, start with a kraft colored card base, and adhere the three different pattern papers down.

Happy Fall Y’all! I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this time of year when all the leaves change colors and the elk and moose come out in abundance. I made this wonderful card for my design team Eat Cake Graphics. This incredible stamp is one whole piece and reminds me of my gorgeous Rocky Mountains with it's shimmery snow capped mountains, green pine trees, and the moose...
Thinking of you...always...is a sentiment I like to use a lot. I try to make a bunch of these all occasion cards throughout the year, because something always comes up and I need a card. I made this card with just a few embellishments and scraps. Do you save scraps? How do you store your scraps? What do you do with yours? I've seen some fancy storage and organization ideas on Pinterest, but I just have a bin full of pattern paper scraps in no particular order, but it's in one place. So, every couple months I grab it and make cards from the scraps. Use what you've got, right?
I am so excited and honored to be the guest designer this month for: The Paper Girls Challenge #88 Sept 21 - Sweater Weather Who’s ready for sweater weather? I love this time of year when the leaves are changing, the air is getting cooler, pumpkin is everywhere, and you start seeing the patterns of the season. And we have a lot of Fall birthdays in my family, so you will see a lot of birthday cards in the coming months. This week I was inspired by the plaid sweaters you see this time of year and created this card with my sister, Tami, with NO stamping. None! I know, right? We were stunned too! LOL We started with a red card base and a square punch (one inch or 1.5"). And punched out our squares from three different pattern papers from the same coordinating 6x6 pad: green, brown, and plaid. Then ran them through the Xyron sticker maker, cut the squares in half, and adhered them to another square. Layered the squares in a pinwheel quilt pattern to a larger red square and adhered to a larger brown square to create a frame or a double matte. Add some colored adhesive pearls for some shine, add buttons, bakers twine, and a tag sentiment. And you have a great masculine card or a neutral card for Fall, Christmas, or any occasion. Plaid isn't just for the holidays! Supplies: AC red blank cards; Authentique: Believe Collection 6x6 pad; Square Punch; Adhesive pearls; Doodlebug buttons; AC bakers twine; Pebbles banner sentiments; Glue dots; and a Xyron 1.5 sticker maker Now lets see what you can make with a little imagination for our next theme "sweater weather" and enter your creations. Click the logo picture below for more details on how to enter by Sat, October 3rd. Good luck! I also entered this card in these challenges:
52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge-For a Man Little Red Wagon Challenge #307 - Try Something New Skip to my Lou - Made by you Monday Happy 19th Anniversary to my perfect frog! Because I did kiss a lot of frogs before I found my perfect frog. I love you! I paired these two adorable Eat Cake Graphics stamps together to create an Anniversary card, even if they'd go really well for Halloween. It's fun to stretch your imagination and use your stamps for other occasions too. And I love frogs, so I had to use a lot of them. The pink and green prints go really well together. Doilies are all the rage these days and I love these polka dot ones from Doodlebug made a nice background. I colored the stamp images with Copic markers and made them sparkly with a rainbow of glitter pens. I stamped Toad sister three times and cut out two extra frogs and an extra wizard’s hat and adhered to card. Get your "other" holiday stamps out and see what you can make.
Eat Cake Graphics stamps used: 1177-I, Greta and her pull toy 1188-K, Toad sister 8068-E Perfect frog (text) I entered this card in: 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge: #257 - Anything Goes Christmas in July is the theme this month. Are you thinking about Christmas cards yet? I'm at the thinking stage still. I search Pinterest for ideas and several craft groups on Facebook. Then I'll start about Sept/Oct. Are you working on those holiday or vacation albums while you have some extra time this summer? I made a mini album to document one our favorite memories of carols, dinner, and hot coco on the "Santa Train" at Christmas time through our beautiful mountains. It was just precious to see them write out wish lists and see their faces when Santa arrived and visited with each child and picked up all their lists.
For more info on the Santa Train click "here." I found this album by Making Memories and it was a recipe book album. So, I bought two. One for our favorite family holiday recipes and the other to make this adorable album. I used a combination of Doodlebug Christmas and BoBunny North Pole and Blitzen Collections of pattern paper and die cuts. The colors and patterns worked really well together. Added just a few gems and train stickers throughout to remind you, we were on a train. With a touch of journaling to tell each pages story. I just love how it turned out. I entered this in: CraftySteals Third Thursday CHRISTMAS IN JULY Challenge! I'm published...again!!! But once you have a subscription, you have access to 2 years of back digital issues and you can download them to have forever. So, lets have an Autumn GIVEAWAY...leave me a comment below about what you think of my new projects and what your favorite part of Autumn is and I'll announce a winner next Saturday, July 11th. Thanks for all your kind words and support! Patriotic is the theme to get ready for Independence Day! What are your plans? Do you love barbeque's with friends and family? Fireworks? Or a quiet day at home? Whichever it is, enjoy your independence and celebrate! For this card the BoBunny paper really shined...
I could eat taco's everyday! Couldn't you? YUM! Well, so can my brother. LOL...so I made him a birthday card with taco's using the colors of Mexico. I found this adorable clip art of dancing taco's online and printed them in color on white cardstock. They were already colored, but if they weren't, you could totally color them in with any kind of markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc...I could have made it fancier, with glitter pen on the text, or bling, but I wanted it more natural and masculine, as it was for my brother.
I layered the taco image on top of a Bo Bunny green double dot pattern paper, added yellow ric rac ribbon from Doodlebug, and added red brads from Creative Impressions. Easy Peasy! Hope you're having a crafty week! I'd love to see what your making. Feel free to post your craft projects here: P.S.> Don't forget about our "500 follower" Giveaway on Facebook...we're almost there, so keep sharing our page and tell all your friends and family about the great projects, deals, and recipes we offer every day. Thanks so much for your kind words and support! ~Kim Would you believe this handmade gift card holder album is made from toilet rolls? Well...it is! As you see, I made five holders attached with a D ring and tied on some coordinating ribbon. I can't take credit for this idea, so I want to thank my friend Cynthia for first introducing me to this project. I love it and use it all the time throughout the year. You can find lots of toilet roll projects on Pinterest and Bo Bunny just posted a toilet roll project today too. See how I made this gift card holder album below...
Napkin cards are still all the rage and there are so many tutorials and videos using all kinds of products. So, I decided to use what I had and simplify it. And it worked really well. As you can see I only used a few supplies...
This is the card I made for my Dad. Happy Birthday, Dad! Yes, another Libra...we have a bunch of them in the family! Even with my husband and three boys, I still find it really hard to make masculine cards. There just isn't enough good patterned paper out there for masculine cards. I've been dying to use this sporty paper for months and finally got around to making something with it. I thought the "football" theme went pretty well with the Fall season and my Dad LOVES football. Believe it or not, but I did NOT stamp at all on the front of this card...just the inside has a simple stamped birthday sentiment. And I think it turned out pretty good, I just cut and layered different paper pieces from the same collection. I love the red plaid against the black random numbers. It reminds me of football jersey numbers. I love to collect 6x6 collection pads for card making. The paper pads make it easy to coordinate the different patterns and colors.
Supplies: Graphic 45 "Good ol' Sport" American Crafts red twine Doodlebug Button 3D pop dots Tombow MONO Adhesive Permanent runner 5" x 7" finished card Valentines Day is just around the corner...here are just a few Valentines Collections I found that I really like. I do make Valentines Day cards for my husband and kids every year along with a little treat. Sometimes, if I have time, I make cards for my parents, sisters, and kids at school too. I just love the pink, red, and black and all the hearts.
