Our theme for August is... Sympathy!
This is a hard theme to create for, but very meaningful and it's easier to have some made in advance. Some of you know, I lost my little sister to breast cancer, almost 3yrs ago. It was devastating to my family, but the thoughtful cards we received really touched our hearts and I still have them. Thank you!
Because I care, I urge you to get a mammogram early! No matter how old you are, get a base line for your medical history. And don't wait for October either. Just do it now! It could save your life! xoxo

Sympathy cards are hard to make, at times, but they don't have to be the traditional black, white, or gray, even though those are very elegant. I chose to design three different styles with non-traditional colors to give you some ideas that don't take a lot of time or supplies to send your condolences.

Let's get started!
Card #1 has a traditional sentiment on vellum and a pretty light blue lacy embossed panel with some simple embellishments.

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of kraft cardstock, cut in half, which makes two A2 cards. I took one half and folded to make an A2 card base. I started by stamping and heat embossing just the kraft card base, but thought it was too dark for this theme and I wanted to keep it soft and light. So I’ll save that piece for another day. I took the other A2 kraft half I already cut and that will be our card base. I cut and trimmed a light blue piece of cardstock ¼” smaller than our card base. Card #2 uses a thoughtful heat embossed sentiment among this beautiful floral on pretty shades of blue papers and coordinating embellishments.

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of turquoise cardstock, cut in half, which makes two A2 cards. I took one half and folded to make an A2 card base. Because using color on Sympathy cards is ok...really! I personally don’t make them bright, but some color is ok. It’s the thought that counts! Next I cut a piece of plaid patterned paper 3x5.5” and using a die cutting machine, and an edge die, I cut the right side and adhered to the card base. Using my original MISTI, white cardstock, and Memento tuxedo black ink, an alcohol marker friendly ink/cardstock, I stamped this gorgeous floral stamp twice to get a good impression. It’s one of my all time favorite flower stamps. Click or hover on each picture below for more directions…

Card #3 uses pretty coordinating papers and colors in a non-traditional way, with a gorgeous center floral, a heat embossed sentiment, with simple embellishments too!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of green cardstock, cut in half, which makes two A2 cards. I took one half and folded to make an A2 card base. Next I cut two pieces of coordinating Unity patterned paper 3.75x5.5” and adhered to the card base. Using my original MISTI, white cardstock, and Memento tuxedo black ink, an alcohol marker friendly ink/cardstock, I stamped another beautiful floral stamp twice to get a good impression. Christmas in July Blog Hop + Linky Party + Giveaways

Merry Christmas on July 25th!!! I know it's Summer, but as card makers we are always thinking ahead and don't want to wait until December to make our holiday cards. Because it takes planning, creating, and inspiration. And the holidays will be here before we know it and we only have 4 months!!!

So if you're tired of being stressed out, rushing around trying to make cards, or guilty for not sending out any. Then this Holiday Hop is the perfect inspiration to get those creative juices flowing to help you build your stash. Which means, if you start now, make a few cards a day, you'll have so many cards done and ready to mail. So you can enjoy the holiday season!

For today's project I used two amazing digital stamp sets to create this darling scene using some of my favorite things.

Let's get started...

Tutorial: I started with an piece of black 12x12 cardstock and cut for a 7.5 x 6.25" card base. I made this bigger to frame it and hang in my kitchen at my coffee station during the holidays. But you can totally make this a card in any size and I'll tell you how below. Then I cut a piece of plaid holiday patterned paper 7.25x6" adhered to the card base.

Let's work on the image. The wonderful thing about these digital stamps is you can resize them and mix and match to create whatever scene you want. So, if you make A2 cards or larger, you can. I use this FREE WPS Office document program to copy and paste digital images to be able to layer, move images around, and resize them. It's a really easy program for pc's and macs and more. I love layering and creating new, fun scenes, like this one. See pictures below to continue the tutorial…

I copied and pasted the coffee mug and sentiment from one Christmas set. And the mice, cinnamon sticks, and beans from a Fall set. And lined them up, flipped one of the mice so their facing each other, resized them all on the same 8.5x11" layout. Once I had the images where I wanted them, I grouped them as one piece, saved, and renamed as a “new” document in the same file as my original stamp set, to use again for future use.

Then I printed my image on my HP inkjet printer using the thin brand of HL white cardstock, and colored it with Distress Ink colors shown above, water color pencils, and an H2O brush. Just lightly with very little water, as to keep the color vibrant, and not warp the paper.

Next I trimmed out the image down to 6.5x 5.5" , cut the corners with a corner rounder punch, added a few brown distress dots inked to the edges like coffee stains, and adhered to the card. Added just a touch of bling with a gold glitter pen around the rim of the cup and center of the poinsettia's. And adhered a holiday ribbon on to two opposite corners to keep this card flat for mailing. Or fame it for the holidays, like I plan to do!

Tip: You can certainly make these smaller, A2 size (5.5x4.25") for instance, and group 4 images on one sheet of 8.5x11" white card stock and print four images at a time for mass producing your holiday cards.

Card #1 is 'Feel the Freedom' stamp kit in Patriotic colors in honor of our upcoming US Independence Day. I wanted to create a card that added color without any actual coloring. As many people struggle with coloring. For this card I used ink splatters and two stencils to achieve this festive fireworks celebration. A wonderful stamp for many occasions and I can't wait to color it up too! So fun!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5” x 11” red 110lb cardstock, folded in half, for the card base. I’ve been making a lot of “not quite” square cards lately, but larger than the usual A2. So I leave them folded until I have everything else adhered in place, then I trim it down. So, this base will be 5.5” wide. Next I chose two 6x6 pattern papers from the same pad, that I thought resembled a vintage flag, cut them on the diagonal, and trimmed off ¼” from the inside angles to fit, and adhered to the card base. Cut a piece of blue ric rac ribbon and adhered on an angle across the card using liquid glue. Click or hover on pictures below for more directions...

Card #2 is 'Scattered Pieces' stamp kit in bright and cheerful colors using an ''ink smooshing technique" and some glitter pens. That's it! Another great technique using colored inks, but no actual coloring. And I really love the variety of feather stamps and beautiful sentiments that speak to your soul. This one is so uplifting and encouraging to send to friends/family. It's one of my 'new' favorites!

Tutorial: I started with 8.5” x 11” white 110lb cardstock, folded in half, and cut in half, so the top folds down and opens from the bottom, but still an A2 size card base. And set aside for a bit. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I lined up the feather and sentiment on a piece of white watercolor cardstock. And inked them up with Gina K amalgam black ink, because remember it’s a friendly ink with any coloring medium. Then took the stamp out of the MISTI and put it on an acrylic block, inked it up again, and stamped the feather two more times. Then I used a die cutting machine and a stitched rectangle die to cut out the image. Click or hover on the pictures below for more directions...

Card #3 is 'Beauty Beyond Words' and it is a beauty. I can't believe I've never inked it up until now. It just screams "color me," but would be pretty black/white or on kraft too! I'll have to try that next while I still have it out on my craft table. Just wonderful for many occasions and all kinds of coloring mediums too!

Tutorial: I started with 8.5” x 11” light gray 110lb cardstock I had leftover that was cut as an A2 size card base. I love notebook paper, so I cut this light blue piece the same size as the card base, inked the edges with distress oxide ink in faded jeans and blended a bit more around the edges with a blending brush and adhered to the card base. And set aside for a bit. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I lined up the jar and sentiment on a piece of white alcohol marker friendly cardstock. And inked them up with Gina K amalgam black ink again, because it won’t bleed when you color with alcohol markers. Click or hover on the pictures below for more directions...

Card #4 is last, but not least using this fabulous 'Migration of Beauty' border backgrounds stamp two different ways. Along with 'All Smiles' itty bitty stamp inside with the other sentiment from the 'Beauty Beyond Words' set to create this amazing Gate Fold card. Click "here" for more folded card ideas. And when you untie the bow, slip off the belly band, the card opens like a gate, and the inside is revealed...

Hi everybody! Thanks for joining us for the Growing in Unity Blog Hop! If you followed my GIU week back in April 20-25, 2020, then you know I LOVE many Unity flower stamps. And if you didn't, you can catch up and see my whole week: (click here for details).

For today's project I chose to carry on that floral theme with a lovely sunflower stamp set and a few of my favorite things to share with you. I'm still figuring out what I like to color with and played around and combined a few products for this look.
Sit back, relax, grab your favorite beverage, and hop along with us today for some amazing inspiration from these talented ladies! I promise...this Hop is short and sweet and SO worth it!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of 110lb white cardstock, folded in half, as my card base (not shown). Cut a piece of red/white checkered patterned paper 6x5 ¾” and adhered to the card base.Trimmed down the top of the white card base to 6.” I took out a bin of scraps and used them on this card too. I took a brown scrap piece of cardstock and trimmed it down to 2x5 ¾” and adhered to the card. Took a scrap piece of yellow polka dot patterned paper and die cut a wavy scalloped edge using a die cutting machine, trimmed to fit, and adhered to the brown cardstock. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I stamped the sunflower five times, in Versafine Sepia brown ink, on white cardstock to resemble a pretty field of blooms. And stamped the sentiment from the same stamp kit, using the same ink too! Click the pictures below or hover over for more directions...

Theme for May is... our Favorite Angiegirl or guy!
What does that mean? If you are a fan of Unity, you already know. But if you don't know, it's a wonderful line of stamps called Angiegirls or guys by Unity. And it's really hard to choose just one. That's why I've got (3) of my favorites to share with you! Hahaha! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the hop...

Wakely girl was published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Fall 2021 issue!

Card #1 is Wakely Girl
She's a confident girl on the move, with books in her bag, and a planner in hand to stay organized or jot down her thoughts. Isn't she stylish? I was inspired by my crafty hop friend, Bobbie Sue, as she did a wonderful monochromatic card "click here" using shades of brown. And I just loved it and really wanted to try it! Here is my version...OH! Don't you just love her boots!?!

Tutorial: I started with a 6x6” plaid patterned paper, trimmed down to about 5x6” and adhered to a kraft card base (not shown). Cut a maroon piece of patterned paper 4x6” and adhere to the card. And cut a piece of rusty brown card stock 2x6” and punched out both long sides with a notebook border punch, cut in half, and adhered to the maroon card panel. Using a MISTI stamping tool I stamped Wakely girl onto white cardstock (alcohol marker friendly) with Versafine Sepia ink and let it dry overnight, but you could heat set it or emboss it too. It’s not usually an alcohol friendly ink, but I find if you let it “cure” overnight or for a few days, it’s been ok to color with and doesn’t bleed or smear. But my Versafine black has smeared. So be careful. Normally I use Gina K Designs Amalgam ink or Catherine Poolers midnight black for any kind of coloring, but I didn’t have those in brown. Use what you’ve got, right? And next I masked the girl using the back paper cover to her stamp and taped it down with purple tape, while using Wakely again, inked up just the text words with Sepia ink, and stamped a few more times down the left side. Using a die cutting machine and a stitched die to cut out the image. These are the Spectrum Noir marker colors I used to color Wakely girl. Then using a blending brush and Distress Oxide Ink-Walnut Stain to blend some ink around Wakely. And using the same ink pad to directly apply ink around the edges. And adhere Wakely to a piece of dark brown cardstock, trim to fit between the notebook border punches. Using the MISTI stamping tool again, stamped the sentiment from the same kit, with Walnut Stain ink on white cardstock. Cut out with a stitched die. And inked around the edges and blended around the words. Adhered just the right side and attached to the card. Add natural twine, slip under the sentiment, and tie in a bow to complete this stylish beauty.

Card #2 is Margaret Girl. She has her favorite party dress on and is ready for any kind of festive occasion! I just love how versatile she is. You will have fun coloring her with many mediums or paper piecing her dress with patterned paper and the balloons too! I was inspired by spring colors, flowers, this pretty Unity paper, and I'm using the ribbon punch again from last weeks GIU card too!

Tutorial: I started with a white piece of 110 cardstock folded in half as our card base (not shown). Cut two pieces of coordinating Unity patterned paper 2x6” and adhered to each end. Cut a piece of blue cardstock 2x6” and cut out with the ribbon border punch. Laced a piece of pink satin ribbon through the blue cardstock, cut the ends and adhered on the back and attached to the card, as shown. Card #3 is Violet Girl. She reminds me of my beautiful daughter. And she is colored in pretty spring colors using colored pencils and one of my favorite rose ribbons. Isn't she pretty?

Tutorial: I started with an A2 (4.25x5.5") 110lb purple cardstock base. And using a die cutting machine, I cut a banner from a banner/fishtale die in this lovely green patterned paper and adhered to the card base. Using my MISTI stamp tool I positioned and centered the sentiment right where I wanted it. Inked the sentiment with Versamark clear ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder, and heat set. Growing in Unity Day 2 + Floral A2 Screen Card

Hi everybody! Welcome back to Day 2 of my Growing in Unity Week, that will be filled with Unity projects, and some of my favorite things, or look what I found in my craft room, because I had time to clean it! (lol)
Today is another oldie, but also a goodie...Do you remember Screen Cards? AKA Screen Dividers, Dividing Screen cards, or Tri-folds, you get the idea. They used to be big too, from a 12x12 piece of cardstock.

For today's project I'm making a Screen card, but as an A2 size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"), so smaller than years past and uses less cardstock. Yay! And I found a large label punch in my stash of tools, which we all probably have, but haven't used in years. And I bet you have one too! Along with a few of my favorites, like tulips, distress oxides, water coloring, tools, and some bling! So, lets make some something ya'll!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5" x 11" piece of purple 110lb cardstock and cut it in half on the shortest side. Click the pictures below for a step by step on how to make this card...

Now we're ready to decorate our Screen!

I really tried NOT to color today...but this image just screamed for some color! Using a MISTI stamping tool, I had already stamped the imagine and sentiment on regular white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink (water color friendly ink), but forgot to use watercolor cardstock for todays project. So we're just going for it. You can make it work, if you don't use much water. I used Distress Oxide inks in the colors shown (plus Squeezed Lemonade Reg. Distress Ink and their listed below), with a quick and light watercoloring technique, kind of like flicking, so I wouldn't warp my cardstock. I patted dry with a paper towel and dried between coloring with a heat tool, so I could layer on more color for depth and dimension. The cardstock buckled up a little bit and I just put a big heavy book on it for a couple hours to flatten it out. An iron on a low setting would work too.

Then did a bit more ink smooshing and used the ink splat stamp again, and ink splatters in picked raspberry and wilted violet around the edges of the image, which seems to be a favorite. I like the effect. Once dry, used a corner rounder punch to cut the corners. And went around the edges of the image with picked raspberry ink. Added a bit of red sparkle glitter pen to all the hearts and clear glitter pen to the circles for a bit of bling! Adhered the image to the front of our Screen card. And added a few light pink glitter enamel adhesive dots for more sparkle. Click the pictures below for more step by step directions for the inside of the Screen card.

For the "Angiegirl" in the center of our Screen card, using a MISTI stamping tool, I stamped her on white cardstock, in Versafine Onyx black ink (a watercolor friendly ink). And water colored her the same way I colored the flowers on the front of the card. But I used a few more colors on our lovely girl. She reminds me of my daughter, so I colored her that way. Using Distress Oxide Inks-Hair: Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain; Hoodie: Wilted Violet; Skin: Dried Marigold watered down, and a touch of Picked Raspberry for her lips; and the Butterfly: Regular Distress ink in Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold in Oxide. And colored around the entire Angiegirl with a Spectrum Noir Marker in a light gray #GG1 to highlight her and give her some depth. Hi everybody! I'm Kim Klinkovsky, welcome to Day 1 of my Growing in Unity (GIU) week at my Blog...My Kraft Kloset for a fun filled week of inspiration. It's my happy place, where I share all my crafty adventures, usually fueled by coffee, sweet tea, and probably some chocolate or wine too! I’m a Published Card Maker, Blogger, Social Media Administrator for a couple craft companies, occasional Scrapbooker, Jewelry Maker, Wife to an US Army Veteran for 24yrs, and Mom to 4 kids, one daughter and three sons, including a set of twins. I love all kinds of stamps, pretty paper, tools, getting inky, heat embossing, and sparkle, to name a few things! I’m honored to be a (GIU) Growing in Unity gal this week and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite things with you! Follow along and let’s get crafty!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5” x 11” light blue 110lb cardstock, folded in half, and trimmed down to 7” x 5.” Then I cut two strips of yellow check patterned papers 3” x 5.” Using a ribbon border punch, cut across both strips, threaded a blue satin ribbon, trimmed, and adhered it on the back. And adhered to the top and bottom of the card base. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I stamped one of my favorite Unity flower stamps, in Distress Oxide Ink-Faded Jeans on white cardstock, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Then stamping with an acrylic block and a splatter stamp, added ink splatters in Distress Oxide inks-Fossilized Amber and Broken China. And added a few more splatters with a paint brush. For today's project I'm bringing back an oldie, but a goodie. Do you remember "inchie" cards? If not, it's where you punch out inch squares of your image and then lay them back down in a grid pattern, as shown above and below. You can use any square, and I used an 1.5" square punch, so my last column was only half a square. But I don't care. It wouldn't have been a complete picture without it. Which made it kind of unique and different. What do you think?

Recently I read a post on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook page that made me sad. One of our members said she wasn’t doing so well at coloring, and she wanted to give up, but that we really inspire her. She sounded a little down, maybe due to what's going on in the world, I’m not sure. I hope she’s okay and doing better. If she’s reading this or if this sounds like any of you: Please know, this isolation and sheltering can be daunting, but you are not alone, and you can talk to me or any of us, anytime! But you Unies stepped up and encouraged her not to give up, and to keep on coloring, and creating. It just warmed my heart! And I hope it cheered her up too! You Unies are so inspiring, encouraging, kind, and supportive of one another. I just love it! It's such a happy place!

And this post inspired me to make a card with NO coloring, just for her! And I encourage you all to "not color" too and see what you can make! I'd love to see it! I love to color, but I’m no expert, and I’m still learning too! And believe me, I’ve had my share of ugly projects that I will NOT be sharing this week. HA! Sorry. Not sorry! (lol). But I do suggest you practice to improve your skills or move onto other mediums and try something new. When this sheltering in place is all over and we can be out and about again, take some classes. Or watch craft videos to learn and practice from too!

Okay...back to today's project...inchie card with ink and tools

Added a touch of sparkle to the center of the flowers with a clear glitter pen. And added blue glitter enamel adhesive dots to complete this “no coloring” project! What do you think? Pretty right? Love Love Love this flower stamp for so many occasions! Now let's see what you can make!

Hi everybody! Kim here, and I hope this finds you all doing well and being inspired by all the crafters posting many creations these past few weeks to entertain and inspire us. On behalf of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps we are celebrating and Sponsoring 'International Women's Day' all month long. Their Blog Hop, a Linky Party, and an Instagram Hop has been EXTENDED until March 31, 2020 IST. And the fun part is...you can play along and join us too! LOT'S of Giveaways up for grabs!!! Details below...

March 8th is a day aimed to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women, but as not to leave our guys out...International Men's Day is also celebrated on November 19 each year. But today and all month is to honor and celebrate our wonderful women, women empowerment and sisterhood all around the world!

The idea behind this hop started last year with 10 amazing women card makers who wanted to encourage other women through their crafts. Just a small word of encouragement from fellow women goes a long way and can do wonders. So let us come together and empower our sisters all around the world. Because we're in this together! Wow! Pretty awesome, right? We look forward to building a positive environment with your support.

For today's project: I was inspired by the beauty, spirituality, and sisterhood of our amazing CFS 'Flower Angel' and 'Angel Hugs' stamp sets to create this precious project with water colors, distress inks, die cuts, heat embossing, and some sparkle.

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” yellow 100lb Papertrey Ink cardstock, folded in half, because I’ll trim it down at the end. I cut the left edge off a 4x6” turquoise panel from AC Tropical cardstock, using my die cutting machine with a stitched curvy scallop die from SimonSaysStamp and adhered to the card base. As I was cleaning up my craft desk, I came across some random pieces I had saved from previous projects, as we all do, that got me thinking I could incorporate some of them into this new project. I had a yellow die cut circle and a white cardstock panel that was sprayed with iridescent glimmer mist. So, using a PF blender brush I inked up the yellow circle with some fossilized amber distress oxide ink to make it a little darker and give it some interest. And using my die cutting machine again, I cut a smaller circle, from Gina Marie Designs, in the upper right corner of the white panel, that is smaller than the yellow circle. And using a water brush I added ink splatters in peacock feathers distress ink and fossilized amber oxide ink to match our project. Once dry, adhered the yellow circle to the outside of the panel with Tombow Multi liquid glue to move it in place. And set aside, do NOT attach yet. For today's project: I was inspired by the beauty and strength of our fabulous CFS 'Be A Unicorn' stamp set, with coordinating 'Unicorn Fri-Die' to create this amazing project with distress inks, heat embossing, and some metallic sparkle.

Tutorial: I started with an A2 white card base and a gray/white star patterned paper ½” smaller and adhered to the card. To make the unicorn I used an “ink smooshing” technique on watercolor cardstock using distress inks, details in my ‘categories’ in the right side bar. Once dry, stamp the unicorn with Versamark clear ink, sprinkled with silver embossing powder, and heat set. Using a die cutting machine, cut out the unicorn with coordinating die cut. And adhere to the card. I love how detailed it is. Isn’t she beautiful? Then I stamped this meaningful sentiment with distress oxide ink, because it’s thick, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. And it shows the color beautifully. Using a die cut from my stash and blue metallic cardstock, I cut out the flourish piece and all the stars, and adhered to the card with liquid glue to complete this sparkly beauty.

Our theme for this months Blog Hop is...Designers Choice!
Well, let me tell you...having free reign to create anything isn't easy either. So many ideas running through my head was kind of overwhelming.
But I narrowed it down to a stamp set I hadn't used before and
combined that with a few of my favorite things.
Can you guess what those might be???

Anyhooo...I'll tell ya...I LOVE to heat emboss in all kinds of different ways, which I'll share in more detail next month, I LOVE die cuts, and I LOVE bling and sparkle. Because what girl doesn't, right?

Today I'm sharing this magical beauty using some of my favorite things: gold/clear heat embossing, die cuts, distress oxide inks, and sparkle to complete this mystical shaker card.

Tutorial: I love Polka Dot Orchards digital stamps, because when you download them, their sizes aren’t restricted. Which means you can make them any size you want. And in this case I made an extra copy of the cardinal and flipped it, so I had two birds facing each other. And I saved this reversed bird in my stamp file with this set on my pc, in case I want to use it again in the future. I use a WPS Free Office program to copy and paste my digital images. It allows me to layer and group digital images as one piece, by moving them around, or bringing images forward and back behind images. Once I have the grouped images where I want them, I save them in the file too, and print on my HP printer using white cardstock from HL, using the thin brand. Our theme for this months Blog Hop is...Monochromatic!
Which means the creation of something made from one color hue or one color family. Fun, right? Well, I'll tell you, this was quite challenging for many of us. It's really hard to just stick to one color family and not add black or some other color, as we love all colors and pretty patterned paper. Shown above are the purple and red color palettes I chose to work with this month. Pretty, right?

My first card is a pretty passionate purple beauty...great for any occasion!

TUTORIAL: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of purple cardstock, folded in half and set aside. I used an A2 white watercolor cardstock. (I know, I finally used watercolor cardstock (lol) And I know it will shock you, but I don’t have a fancy media mat, and that’s ok, so I ink up the clear lid to my MISTI stamping tool when I want to do some “ink smooshing.” It works just fine. Today I stamped down two different purple oxide inks and spritzed with water mist and ran a Q-tip through it to get some variations. Then dragged my cardstock through the colors. Dabbing the cardstock back and forth, here and there, in a triangle like pattern. Heat setting between layers and dabbing back through the colors, until I achieved the desired look I wanted. And heat set again until completely dry or overnight. Wipe up the MISTI with baby wipes or paper towels and it cleans up nicely. Next place the butterfly stamp in the center of the purple panel and attach to MISTI lid. Brush over panel with a static buddy to eliminate embossing powder sticking where you don’t want it. Which is also why you want to make sure your purple panel is completely dry, because embossing powder will stick to oxide ink. And we don’t want that. Then ink up the butterfly stamp with clear embossing ink. Sprinkle with purple embossing powder, and heat set. Using a die cutting machine and a border die cut, I cut the bottom of the purple panel, and set aside. I used a scrap piece of vellum, using the MISTI, I stamped a sentiment, from the same kit, with one of the purple oxide inks, clear embossing powder, and heat set. Trimmed into a banner. Then took a scrap piece of purple polka dot paper and adhered to our cardbase. Adhered our sentiment. And adhered our purple butterfly panel to our card. Trimmed down the card base. And added a few purple glitter enamel dots for some bling to complete this royal purple beauty.

My second card is a fiery red beauty in honor of Valentines or my single gal pals for Galentines Day or any occasion!

TUTORIAL: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of red cardstock, folded in half and set aside. Repeat the same “ink smooshing” techniques as our purple panel above, except I used a red and pink distress oxide inks. Heat red panel until dry or overnight. Using the MISTI tool I stamped the mandala image three times with red oxide ink and heat set. It's an older stamp from 2016 and I've never used it. So, it was time for some love. Using an acrylic block I stamped a heart background with the tattered rose distress ink (not oxide ink), I spray misted the stamp and stamped it onto our red panel in the top right corner, the left middle, and the bottom right corner. Dab off excess water. And heat set. To give our panel some depth and interest. Using a die cutting machine and a border die cut, I cut the left side of the red panel, and set aside. I used a scrap piece of vellum, using the MISTI, I stamped a sentiment from another kit, with clear embossing ink, sprinkled with red embossing powder, and heat set. You could certainly use the red oxide ink and clear embossing powder too. I just wanted to try this red embossing powder on vellum. Trimmed vellum to fit across the red panel. Trimmed a red and pink striped patterned paper and adhered to the card base. Adhered the red panel to card. Adhered vellum sentiment on both ends and attached to red panel and concealed adhesive with red glitter enamel dots and for some bling, of course. Trimmed down the card base. And wrapped some red/white bakers twine around our card three times and tied into a bow to finish this fiery red beauty.

And there you have a couple of ideas of monochromatic cards!
I hope I've inspired you to mix and match your stamps, techniques and maybe try some new things and see where
it takes you! The possibilities are endless!

Polka Dot Orchard + Cozy Brew Card

Hi everybody!!! Kim here sharing some warm winter wishes with you all courtesy of Polka Dot Orchard digital stamps. And because winter has returned to the south and it's been unusually cold. Which makes me want to go for a warm cup of cocoa with a touch of peppermint too! Couldn't you? And this "Cozy Brew" digital stamp set is sure to give you all the cozy vibes too! So great for all kinds of occasions.

How I made this card:
I started with an A2 kraft card base and turned it sideways, with the opening on the right. Cut a piece of wood patterned paper ¼” smaller than the card base, to resemble a table. Stamped a few random coffee ring stains from my stash, with brown distress ink and adhered to the card base. Cut a piece of green patterned paper that resembled a table runner and adhered to the card.

I use a WPS Free Office program to copy and paste Polka Dot Orchard digital images. It allows me to layer several digital images to create one piece, move them around, bring images forward and back. Once I resized and had the images where I wanted them, I printed on my HP printer using white cardstock from HL, the thin brand.

Next I colored with a mix of watercolor pencils and Prismacolor colored pencils with Gamsol to blend. I used the two different mediums, because I wanted a variation of colors and patterns. If you’ve never used Gamsol, it’s odorless mineral spirits that thins the pigment in the colored pencils for blending or painting. But it doesn’t work with all colored pencils, just pigmented colored pencils, like Prismas. And the color is blended with a pencil like stub tool dipped in Gamsol or a Q-tip and gives the look of water coloring.

Then using a die cutting machine, I cut out the left side of the image panel with a stitched scallop edge die, trimmed the image, and punched the right corners with a corner rounder. Adhered a scrap piece of brown cardstock to the right side, behind the image panel, adhered the two together, and adhered to the card.

Added some sparkle, of course, with a clear glitter pen and a few enamel glitter dots. And wrapped a couple turns of a natural twine around the front right side for some texture to complete this cozy cup. Perfect for a chilly day like today!

Creativation 2020 Industry Trade Show-New Craft Products

The Association For Creative Industries (AFCI), formerly known as (CHA) the Craft & Hobby Association is a HUGE crafty Trade Show Convention that has been coined "Creativation" the last couple years. It's the largest craft marketplace in North America and will take place in Phoenix, Arizona from January 16-20, 2020.

All of your favorite craft manufacturers from all over the world will come together this week to conduct business under one roof. They will teach over 3000+ Retail Buyers and Store Owners how to use and sell the new craft products with lots of demos, take orders, make connections to grow their business, have face time with designers, and make new professional relationships.

2020 Stamp & Scrapbook Expo Show Dates

The 2020 Stamp & Scrapbook Expo dates for the ultimate craft show in paper crafting and stamping, for the public, have been announced and are all listed below. If you are a card maker, scrapbooker, paper crafter, mixed media artist, jewelry maker, a stamper, or any kind of paper artist, then you do not want to miss this Expo show.

See below...when the Expo is coming to a city near you. You can go for the day, take a road trip, or go for the whole weekend, but book early and get hotel discounts, and join the fun! And if you don't see a city near you, don't fret, plan a trip or suggest it on their website or social media and make recommendations. They are always looking for new venues to add every year. I've attended several Expo shows in Denver and Georgia over the last 8-10 years and have received a huge amount of awesome products, shopping deals, great classes, giveaways, amazing make n' takes, and the whole experience is fantastic. Made new friendships. Enjoyed learning some great new techniques, meet wonderful instructors, get LOTS of inspiration, and take home TONS of fabulous products given to each class participant too!

Favorite Unity Stamp of 2019!

Well, if you're anything like us, then you know how hard it is to choose just one. It's like choosing a favorite child...you just can't!!!
So, you'll probably see more
than one project :) we just can't
help ourselves!

For this months project I dug through ALL my 2019 stamps I hadn't even used yet or hardly ever used. If you're new here, welcome! And if you follow me, "thank you" as you probably know my favorite season is Fall and reminds me of my childhood. I'm just crazy about ALL of it. So, I couldn't wait 8-9 months to break into this beautiful new leafy border stamp and play. I knew when I saw it, I just had to have it and use it for my first card today. It's so beautifully detailed and one of my absolute favorites. Wouldn't you agree?

TUTORIAL: I started with an 8.5x11” kraft cardstock, folded in half, and set aside. Opened up my mini MISTI stamping tool and used the inside of the lid to ink up with several distress inks (not oxide inks) and misted the colors. Then used my favorite “ink smooshing technique” by running a piece of watercolor paper through the colors a few times, dab excess with a paper towel, and heat set dry. Wiped off the inks from my MISTI and placed the dry inked up panel in the MISTI stamping tool, adhering the back with purple tape to hold it in place. Lined up the leaf border stamp over the panel. Inked up the stamp with clear ink and stamped twice to get a good impression, as it’s a big stamp. Took image panel out of the MISTI and sprinkled with gold embossing powder, and heat set. Placed panel back in the MISTI, inked up the sentiment from the same stamp set, with clear ink, sprinkled with gold embossing, and heat set. Cut a piece of kraft cardstock ¼” larger than image, but it was too light, so I inked the edges directly with a brown distress ink and heat set. Adhered the image to the kraft cardstock. Then cut a piece of gold glitter paper ¼” larger than the kraft matte, adhered the image to the gold paper, and adhered it all to the original kraft card base and trimmed to fit. Added a few gold metallic adhesive gems for some more bling. And look at all that sparkle. Isn’t it gorgeous? I just LOVE it!!!

My 2nd project was inspired by these BIG words and nature stamps. I thought these would be perfect for the "thank you" cards I make every January to send our gratitude to everyone who gave us wonderful holiday gifts.

TUTORIAL: I started with an 8.5x11” dark green cardstock, folded in half, and set aside. Using a die cutting machine and a stitched rectangle die I cut out a panel from white cardstock. Using an acrylic block and distress oxide inks, I inked up a pine bough stamp that is a few years old, but I love it, and created my own unique border. Then for my next favorite stamp of 2019 I am using a super BIG sentiment. I just love it for so many occasions. I placed the pine panel down in my mini MISTI stamping tool, lined up my sentiment, and stamped it a few times in black ink to get a nice dark image. And matted and adhered to a black cardstock and set a side. Took a piece of white cardstock and stamped randomly around the edges in black ink to create another border panel. Adhered green pine panel to black pine panel and trimmed to fit. Adhered the whole piece to the dark green card base. Added tree ribbon and a button for interest. Fun right? See how easy this came together by creating your own borders with stamps you already have. Be sure to check out all the BIG words in this set, because you won’t be able to stop making cards or great in scrapbook layouts too. They are amazing for all year long!

Polka Dot Orchard Challenge of Thanks-Hostess Tag

Happy Thanksgiving week! As we're all running around grocery shopping, baking, and cooking to get ready for the big day, allow yourself a moment to stop and give thanks for your blessings, and maybe carve out some crafting time to relax and recharge. It won't take long to create a card or a tag for those family or friends hosting your special holiday meals that will be greatly received. Today I am sharing this darling hostess tag for our "Tag It Tuesday" series and to remind you of the Polka Dot Orchard Instagram Challenge that runs thru November 28, 2019. The theme of this challenge is 13 Days Of Thanks. What are you thankful for? I'm thankful for my family, wonderful friends near and far, good health, and my craft supplies, which some were acquired recently from late sister.

Tutorial below...

I started this tag by layering a few digital images and printed on white X-Press It cardstock. And colored the image with watercolor pencils and a light touch with a water brush. Using a die cutting machine and tag dies to cut it out and cut out a larger tag in a plaid pattern paper and adhered the two together. Traced over the sentiment with black sparkle pen to brighten it up. And added some clear sparkle pen on the leaves and baster too. Punched a whole in the top and added ribbon to complete this turkey tag and tied to a nice bottle of wine ready for our hostess.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Polka Dot Orchard Fall Blessings Card

For my caffeinated project today I chose this amazing digital stamp set
"A Grateful Heart" by Polka Dot Orchard
It's a wonderful set for many occasions, with different sentiments, but this one is especially great for Thanksgiving! Don't you think?

How I made this Fall Card: I started with two pieces of 8.5x11" orange cardstock, folded in half, and trimmed down to 6.5x5" for the card base. Cut the second piece in half and trimmed down to fit card base exactly, but for embossing. Sorry I'm into odd sized cards lately. The A2's seem too small and 5x7" seem to large. So, I'm somewhere in the middle. For the second orange piece, and using a die cutting machine, place inside an embossing folder, to get this amazing tree impression texture that won't show though to the inside, because of this extra step, but you will eventually adhere it to the front of the card base, but not yet...just set aside for a moment. Next I printed the image on X-Press It white cardstock, layered a sentiment inside, and printed on an HP Laserjet printer. Using the die cutting machine again, cut out image with a stitched die. This time I water colored lightly, with very little water, as to not warp my paper, and dipped my water brush directly into the distress ink colors to achieve this look. And used a blending brush to add color around the edges. Then adhered the image to a brown piece of cardstock for matting and adhered to the orange embossed panel. And adhered the whole panel to the card base as our front piece. I am mad for plaids...so I had to add some to this Fall card. So I cut a strip of this plaid patterned paper 1x5" and cut down one side with a border punch and adhered to card. Added some twine and adhered the whole image panel to the card base. Then added a touch of bling to the pumpkins and berries to make them sparkle, of course, and this Fall beauty is complete and pretty flat for mailing too!

And I want to say "Thank You" to all of you that have followed my crafty adventures across social media for the last 5 years. I am so blessed beyond words to have made so many great friendships in this amazing craft we all have in common. And I am so incredibly thankful for your continued love, friendships, kindness, and support!

So for this months projects I was inspired by the Fall colors, plaids and leaves, of course, as it's my favorite time of year! And giving thanks in the friendships and beauty around us.

For my 1st Card I pulled out yellow golden cardstock, plaids, and browns. I started with an 8.5x11” yellow cardstock, cut in half and folded to create a card base. Then cut a plaid patterned paper ¼” smaller than the card and adhered to the card base. And stamped the floral image on white cardstock using black ink and a MISTI stamping tool. Colored the image with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out and set aside. Using a die cutting machine, cut out a stitched circle from brown cardstock and adhered the floral image with foam tape for dimension. Then adhered the whole piece to bottom of the card. Next stamped stamped sentiment on cardstock with clear ink, sprinkled embossing powder, and heat set. Using a die cutting machine again, cut out a stitched banner from brown cardstock around sentiment and cut a larger banner in yellow cardstock, adhered the two banners together and wrapped twine around them and adhered to the card. Making sure to tuck some of it under the flowers. And finished with a touch of gold metal adhesive gems.

For my 2nd Card I made this darling gate fold card. First I cut my cardstock to measure 6” x 11” and scored at 2¾” and 8¼” to create the card base. Then for the front, I cut two plaid patterned paper panels 2½”x 6” and adhered to the front folds of the card. Carefully cut a doily in half and adhered to front panels with liquid glue. And attached green felt leaves to front panels. Next stamped front sentiment on cardstock, sprinkled embossing powder, and heat set. Cut out and rounded corners with a punch, added 3D pop dots, and adhered to just the left side of card front panel to allow card to open. Attached felt leaves and added an enamel embellishment.

For the inside of the card I cut a plaid patterned paper panel 5¼” x 5¾”, rounded corners with a punch, and adhered to the inside center of the card. Stamped the owl image on white cardstock using black ink and a MISTI stamping tool. Colored the image by dipping a water brush directly into the distress ink pads until I reached a desired water colored look. Added some sparkle with glitter pens. Using a die cutting machine, cut out image with circle die cut. Adhered green felt leaves and a leaf brad through the cardstock. Adhered image to a doily and attached to the inside panel. Then stamped inside sentiment on cardstock with clear ink, sprinkled embossing powder, and heat set. Cut out and round corners with a punch, and add 3D pop dots to adhere to panel. And attached more felt leaves and added enamel embellishments to finish this darling card.

And there you have it...this sentiment says it all! I am so thankful for sweet friends like you! And I hope I've inspired you to mix and match your stamps, products, pretty papers, and techniques and maybe try some new things and see where it takes you! The possibilities are endless!

Our theme for this months Blog Hop is...Autumn Colors!!!
I love all holidays, but Autumn is my favorite time of year with all the leaves changing colors, pumpkin spice everything appears, and we have lots of family birthdays to celebrate too! So, that means...I make A LOT of cards!
This month I was inspired by the 200 foot trees in the park by my house. And I kid you not, they are really that tall and surround our neighborhood too. I took this picture last Autumn when the trees were full of all the colors of autumn and it was magnificent.

So because this is my favorite time of year, I couldn't help myself and made a few cards with some old and new to me techniques to share with you all!

My 1st card I knew I wanted lots of leaves and color with ink smooshing, alcohol markers, and die cuts on a fairly large card.

My 2nd card I used masking, ink blending, and distress micro glaze techniques on a layered card with die cut frames.

My 3rd card is similar to my 2nd card with masking, ink blending, and distress micro glaze techniques on a layered card with die cut frames, but slightly different with a mix of Autumn patterns and colors.

Polka Dot Orchard + Birthday Roses

Happy Labor Day Weekend!!! I'm popping in today to share one last project for August as a Guest Designer for Polka Dot Orchard. I hope you've enjoyed seeing all of my digital projects for July and August, because I had tons of fun layering, learning, and creating with them! As they really have beautiful digital images.

And Jessica, the owner of Polka Dot Orchard liked my projects and team support so much, that she invited me to join her Design Team!!! Yay!!! I'm so excited!!! So you're going to be seeing a lot more digi (digital) creations and we can learn together, because I'm fairly new to digital stamps!!! And let me tell you, in just 2 short months I've had some trials and tribulations on my digi journey, that I will share with you, because you are not alone!

I'm once again honored to be using these digi stamps designed by my crafty friend, Jeanie May Hays, of Washi Horse Designs, and you may recognize her name from our monthly 'Friends of Unity' blog hops we do together too! (Pssst... we'll be hopping again next Sat, Sept. 7th)

For today's project I'm using Jeanie's gorgeous rose stamp again because I just LOVE it!!! Isn't it gorgeous? The colors and stripes on this card reminded me of a carnival or fair days, which to me signifies the end of summer. So, I thought it was only fitting to share this beauty on the last day of August, as summer is winding down.

How I made this card: Birthday Roses
I started with a 110lb navy cardstock 8.5x11" folded in half and trimmed down to 7 3/4" x 5 1/2." And two 6x6 striped pattern papers trimmed down to 4x6" and adhered to cardbase, not overlapping, but meeting in the middle, that will be covered up with the sentiment panel, and trimmed one side off, so it's 7 3/4" across.

I knew I wanted 3 roses across, so I needed a fairly large card base. When you get your Polka Dot Orchard digital sets, you can then copy and paste the images into other programs to layer or manipulate or resize your images to however you want. Not all digis are like this, some are already preset and sized for you, but I love that these aren't. I'm not very high tech and like things easy to use and easy to explain to others.

I opened this gorgeous rose image, right clicked my mouse, copied and pasted it into a blank WPS Office 2019 word document three times and saved this document with a new edited name, in case I wanted to use it again someday. Then you can play with sizing, layering, and all kinds of things. For today, I just copied and pasted 3 roses onto a page, getting them as close to each other as possible, and resizing them enough to fit across a 7" card. There are all kinds of neat and fancy photo programs out there to buy and use, but using what you've got works too! Now you're ready to print...which is where most of my trial and tribulations have occurred. I have an HP allinone inkjet printer, nothing fancy, very fussy about paper thickness, but gets the job done! I have tried all kinds of cardstock from thin to thick, cheap and expensive, and what works well for alcohol markers, water coloring, and colored pencils with my HP ink cartridges.

I'm sharing my own personal experiences and I'm not endorsing or disrespecting any companies products, because I used all good products that I will still use for traditional rubber stamping. This is just simply what worked for me on my digital stamp journey with my HP printer and what I like to color with, based on those experiences.

I have found the X-Press It brand white cardstock works the best in my HP printer, with my ink cartridges, and with alcohol markers, water coloring with dye ink pads, or water color pencils. I found the American Crafts and Stampin Up white cardstocks also worked really well. And I found The Paper Studio thin white cardstock from Hobby Lobby fit through my printer, but didn't work well with alcohol markers, because the ink bled or smeared some when colored. So, it's a good back up for maybe colored pencils and certainly rubber stamping.

I read somewhere to let the image "cure" or dry after you print it. So I usually print my images and let them "cure" for 1-2 hours or even a day or two, until I'm ready to color. And it seems to work. I'll have to experiment and see what happens if I don't let it "cure." And get back to you next time.

I colored with Tim Holtz water color crayons. Remember those? I know right, it's been awhile since we've played with those, so I got them out again. And they're so bright and fun. Water color cardstock is recommended for any water coloring projects, but I can't get watercolor cardstock through my printer...yet! I'm still on the look out for a thin water color cardstock and any recommendations are welcome! So, I kept it simple and just used these 3 colors shown above and mentioned in my supply list below. I colored them directly on acrylic blocks, dipped a water brush into the color to dilute and began to color the roses and dab off any excess water quickly with a paper towel, as to not buckle the paper. If it does, allow to dry, and place a heavy book over the top to flatten. I fussy cut the roses out. But if you have a fancy machine that scans and cuts, that's awesome, and will certainly work with these images too! I do have a Silhouette machine with a pixscan mat that will also scan and cut images, but these were fairly easy to hand cut with scissors. Then I brushed on some Wink of Stella-clear sparkles and some stickles glitter glue for more sparkles. And set aside to dry.

Next I printed a nice big sentiment on the same white cardstock as our focal point, and my color ink cartridge was running out, which created a bluish lined design that still worked with my card colors. So I used, as to not waste anything. Using a die cutting machine and a stitched die I cut out the sentiment and adhered to the stripe panel. Once dry, adhered the roses and added some glossy enamel dots like confetti.

Here's another look at this beautiful birthday roses card all done with digital stamps, so fun to color with many mediums, and great for any occasion.

And once again I am challenged to create something with animals, which I'll admit, I'm not great at coloring. But I dug into my Unity stash to see what I could find and I was pleasantly surprised. And with Unity...once you get started...it's hard to stop stamping. So, I have quite a random collection to share with you today!

First up this darling 'Panda' card

I started with an A2 110lb kraft cardstock base with a lovely green watercolor patterned paper from MFT that's cut about a 1/4" smaller and adhered to card base. Using a die cutting machine, cut a a six circle cutout die cut in a darker green patterned paper from G45 and glued down with liquid glue. (save the extra circles). Using a Misti stamp tool, I stamped the panda's, butterfly, stars, and sentiment (from 2 Unity Panda sets) with Catherine Poolers Midnight black ink on white X-Press It cardstock. And colored all the pieces with alcohol markers. I used a light gray on the panda's for highlights and dimension, fussy cut them out, and adhered them to the card. With a blending brush I added a touch of green distress oxide ink to the sentiment, adhered it to one of those extra die cut circles leftover from earlier, trimmed the edges, and used 3D foam tape to pop it up and adhere to the panel. Added some shimmer to the butterfly wings with Wink of Stella-clear and added yellow stickles glitter glue to the stars for some extra sparkle. Once dry, adhered all the pieces to the panel to complete this adorable card! So, cute for many occasions!

Next up: This adorable 'bunny' card

I started with a 12x12" 110lb light pink cardstock, cut in half 6x12" and folded for a 6x6" finished base (not shown) with two amazingly fun 6x6 patterned papers from Doodlebug, cut on a diagonal, and adhered to the card base.

Using a Misti stamp tool, I stamped the bunny on white X-Press It cardstock with Gina K Amalgam black ink and colored with these alcohol maker colors shown above. I only used two gray markers on the bunny, with a touch of pink, and a red heart. I added colorless blender ink onto a terry wash cloth and dabbed it onto the bunny in a few places, to take off some gray ink, which leaves a faint textured imprint from the wash cloth. To resemble fur. A quilted paper towel or baby wipe works too.

I felt the image was too stark. So I tapped some pink distress oxide ink onto an acrylic block, added a couple drops of water, and painted on some pink watercolor around the bunny. Don't add too much water, as your paper may ripple or pill, because we're not using watercolor paper. But it can be done. Just add a little color at a time and dab off with a paper towel. You can let it dry a little and add more color for depth as needed. Set a side to dry. Once dry, I added some watered down black distress oxide ink splatters around the image with a paint bush, being careful to cover or mask bunny, so not to get any on the image. Set a side to dry. Using a die cutting machine I cut out the bunny with a stitched square die; cut out a larger square in black cardstock to create a border; and cut an even larger stitched square from a light green cardstock. Once dry adhere the bunny image to the black cardstock square, adhere the light green stitched square down first, like a diamond, and then adhere the bunny image on top. Stamped a sentiment (from a Unity grab bag) with Amalgam ink onto light green cardstock, adhere to black cardstock, trim around, and adhere to card. Added some pink and green glittery enamel dots to finish this precious card that is so adorable for many occasions!

Voila! And you too can make "furry friend" cards! I hope I've inspired you to mix and match your stamps in new and creative ways! And see what you can create. The possibilities are endless!

Polka Dot Orchard + Rose Card

Hi all! I'm back again this week Guest Designing for Polka Dot Orchard with another fabulous digital stamp collection. I'm honored to be using another digital set designed by my crafty friend, Jeanie May Hays, of The Washi Horse Blog! How I made this card: I started with an A2 card base in kraft cardstock that folds down and opens at the bottom. A little different for me, but thought I'd give it a try. And using a die cutting machine, I cut out this darling yellow orange floral patterned paper with a scallop stitched rectangle die and adhered to the card. Then I printed out this beautiful rose and sentiment on white cardstock from my HP home printer. I was almost out of ink, as you can see on the sentiment, but thought it looked neat and used it anyways. Currently I can only get AC white cardstock to go through my home printer to print digital stamps, so I'm making it work. I knew I wanted to water color this week, and to do that on this type of paper, you can, but you must work very quickly and not use a lot of water. Because the paper will warp or pill. Today, I dug out my Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Crayons!!! Remember those? I forgot how much fun they are to play with.

I chose only two colors (really, not even yellow): orange and green and colored directly onto an acrylic block and took a water brush and added a drop of water and swished it around, dabbed off the excess water onto a paper towel, and proceeded to add color to the rose. I did this in layers onto the petals and the leaves, to build up the color and shading as it dried. Tip: You can color directly onto the image with these crayons (as I did with the darker shades of orange on top), but once you add water you have to move fast, as it's quickly absorbed and it's hard to move around and spread upon your image. So work in small areas at time, like one petal at a time. Or you may not get the shading you want or you may end up with hard lines that won't blend out. I totally recommend using watercolor cardstock for any water coloring, IF you can get it to go through your printer! Also using a die cutting machine again, I cut the rose and the sentiment out with stitched dies and adhered them to the card. Adhered three gold gems to the sentiment. And added a touch of glitter glue and shimmer to the rose for some extra sparkle to complete this gorgeous rose that symbolizes friendship!
