Today's project I'm sharing this darling owl stamp surrounded by balloons, fireworks, some time clocks behind him, and some sparkle, of course.
Just perfect for a New Years Celebration!!!
I started with an A2 light blue card base and cut a kraft piece of cardstock 1/4" smaller. Stamped several time clocks in clear ink, sprinkled clear embossing powder, heat set, and adhered to card.
Using my MISTI tool, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink on yellow cardstock, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Using a Big Shot machine I cut it out with a banner die and adhered to card panel. Also cut out a blue foil snowflake border die, trimmed to fit, and adhered to top of card to resemble fireworks in the sky. And die cut "19" on white cardstock, added liquid gold pearl and set aside to dry.
I used a new to me texture technique to add feathers or makes the owl look fluffy. I used a small 2x2" piece of quilted paper towel, folded up a couple times, and added a few drops of colorless blender refill solution to the paper towel. You don't want it too wet or your color will bleed. Work quickly, as it will dry fast.
TIPS: Use a quilted paper towel or terry cloth for the texture effect. A flat plain one won't work. And if the colorless ink bleeds and your color disappears, just let it dry, and add color back onto your image and try again.
Next touch the wet paper towel onto the owl, hold a few quick seconds, and go onto the next area until your image is complete. I also did this on a few balloons too! And fussy cut the owl image out and adhered to card with 3D foam tape.
Once dry, adhered the gold "19" die cuts to the blue balloon and adhered a sprinkling of sequins to add to our celebration!
Here is another look...see all that sparkle and shine??? Happy New Year!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy New Year!
