Our theme for June is... Masculine
Which can be really hard. Luckily I make masculine cards all the time, but I get stumped for ideas too!
​Where do you look for masculine inspiration?
​I turn to craft blogs, pinterest, facebook, and instagram. 

It's the 6th month and I'm still continuing with my 
​"New Years Resolution" to use  "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
Like heat embossing, ink smooshing, and simple coloring.​​ ​
So I am sharing birthday cards I made for my 3 sons this year.
​​

Birthday Card for Son #1: 
​As I mentioned, I have 3 grown sons and I make lots of masculine cards. And I won't lie... they are challenging. But I found using a sketch and patterned paper helps a lot to ground a focal point. As I did here for my oldest son who loves red and black. And this was fun to put together with minimal supplies, scraps, & flat for mailing.​

Supplies: Unity Many More Birthdays stamp set and coordinating die (temporarily out of stock) and Scallops & Circles nesting dies; Big Shot die cutting machine; Ranger Distress Oxide Ink-candied apple; Ranger clear heat embossing powder; Marvy Uchida heat tool; MISTI stamping tool; Papertrey Ink black and white cardstock; BoBunny Double Dot pattern paper; MME scrap pattern paper; and Scor-tape by Scor-Pal double sided tape.

​Birthday Card for Son #2: 
​I love using background stamps and the ink smooshing technique to ground my focal point, which I created with several stamps. My second son loves video games and orange, which is funny, because after all the colors I used to ink smoosh this background, I ended up with mostly orange (lol). I heat embossed all the stamps, used simple coloring, and some extra sparkle on the balloon. And kept it fairly flat for mailing. ​

Supplies: Unity Extended Celebration (front and center stamps), Brutus Monroe/Unity Vintage Burlap (background stamp), Unity Everything wonderful (inside sentiment) and Unity Orange Cardstock; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Ink fine detail black and carnation red heat embossing powder; Versamarker clear embossing pen (red balloon inside); Marvy Uchida heat tool; AC Fine Detail Pens; Ranger Ink/Tim Holtz Watercolor white cardstock; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Ink colors: ROYGBVB; MISTI stamping tool; Papertrey white cardstock for card base; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape

​Birthday Card for Son #3: 
​My third son loves his 20yr old red BMW that he is constantly fixing and reengineering to go faster. And I just so happened to have had a scrap piece of this fun vehicle background stamp. I did some simple coloring on the red sports car and added some bling to make it sparkle too and matched it to this fun Unity patterned paper of xoxo's, which is part of my signature when messaging my kids and it fit this card perfectly. 

Supplies: Unity Vroom (background stamp), Unity Everything wonderful (inside sentiment), and Unity Enveloped in Love (paper pack); MISTI stamping Tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Distress Oxide Ink-candied apple; Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and clear sparkle pen; Papertrey Ink black and white cardstock; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape
