I die cut my base cards from a heavy duty 110lb white cardstock, which you need, because the flipping back and forth will eventually tear your cardstock and your card will fall apart if you use anything less. Trust me, I know. So, get the strongest/heaviest cardstock to cut out your base cards.
Then I chose orange and blue cardstock, in my boys favorite colors, to layer over the base card. Cut into 3 solid colored panels. Run the front panels through an embossing folder for some texture and adhere to the front left side of the card bases.
For the back flip center pieces: Take the solid center square and circle cardstock pieces and adhered to the inside center of the card bases. Stamped the birthday sentiment. And cut out a fun patterned birthday paper from the same die cut and adhered to the right side of the card bases.
I layered the orange/blue panels on the card bases to reinforce them and make the card stronger to tolerate the flipping back and forth.
Now to decorate the front centers that flip. I punched out coordinating patterned paper in a 3" square and circle and adhered to the front centers. Next punched out a 2" square and circle from the orange/blue cardstock and adhered to the patterned paper. Placed sticker numbers "14" onto the colored cardstock. And added black diamond stickles glitter glue to the numbers to make it sparkle just a touch. As they are boys, I can't make it too frilly. lol. And there you have two similar, but different flip cards versatile for any occasion, just change your sentiment, patterned paper, shapes, or embossing folders.
