And as some of you may or may not know, this time of year, I make A LOT of family birthday cards (like nine, before I start Christmas cards) and Fall themes are my absolute favorite, but this year I wanted to make something different and try some different products and techniques. Click "Read More" to see how I made this card...
I started with an A2 size teal cardstock as the base of my card. Cut a balloon pattern paper 1/4" smaller than the teal card base and adhered to the card. Cut a strip of blue cardstock, about 3", and border punched the top and bottom to resemble waves and adhered to panel.
Next I stamped the turtle on white cardstock with distress inks and colored just the shell with distress markers. I then used a blending tool with a dab of water and blended the colors on the shell, around the outer edges just a little, so it wouldn't have any harsh lines on the shell.
Then I applied clear crackle to just the shell. I made a circle around the shell and filled it in with crackle medium and it needed a couple hours to dry. Once dry, bend carefully back and forth to create even more cracks in the shell. Cut out a matte border from orange cardstock, a 1/4" larger than the stamped image and adhere to the matte cardstock. Then adhere the whole piece to your card.
Stamp sentiment to match by using same colored markers across stamp, huffing (moist heat from your mouth, like a cough, to activate ink), and stamp on cardstock. Add ribbon and enamel dots to finish up the card.
