Happy Halloween! What are you doing tonight? Are you going out or staying in? My kids are dressing up and I'm taking them out trick or treating. I'll probably put on my witches hat and tag along. Then we'll watch some semi-scary movies, eat popcorn, and probably some candy too.
In honor of my mother-in-law I thought I'd share her birthday card with you. Yes, her birthday is today, on Halloween. Isn't that cool? I just love making her a card every year, because she loves everything Halloween. And I do too! So, I can really be creative and have fun with her cards...
In honor of my mother-in-law I thought I'd share her birthday card with you. Yes, her birthday is today, on Halloween. Isn't that cool? I just love making her a card every year, because she loves everything Halloween. And I do too! So, I can really be creative and have fun with her cards...
This years card I started with a black card base and layered on this fantastic black pattern paper I found with ravens, bird cages, and spiderwebs. It already had a journal box, so I stamped inside it and heat embossed the sentiment.
Another favorite paper I used is this harlequin print that I cut out, wrapped with ribbon, and adhered to card. I cut out the spooky cameo lady and the banner sentiment (creepy crawloween) and adhered to card. (save the scrap pieces) You would think I would have orange gems in my embellishment stash...NOPE! I must be out. So, I colored my own, again. I colored clear gems with an orange Copic Marker and adhered to card.
Here is a peak at the inside of the card.
The card base is black, so I needed to put something lighter on the inside for a sentiment and to put our signatures. I used a piece of scrap paper harlequin print, cut it out, and adhered to the ivory scrap leftover. Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and adhered to card base.
