June Challenge: Brads, Buttons, and Bling
(click here for more details)
This month’s theme is anything that includes all three: brads, bling, and buttons. Now time to get to work...
May Winner of the sewing/stitching challenge is: #12 Karen B. Congratulations!!!
After a record breaking month of rain…seriously, everyday…I am ready for summer sunshine and mountain breezes. It’s also the time for many graduations and I’ve been dying to use my alphabet embossing folder and thought it would be perfect for a school themed card. Here I used the sizzix circle flip die cut. It’s very fun and versatile.
Cut out the die cut with heavy duty 100lb cardstock to create the card base. Anything less will probably cut through. Before folding, run both ends of card separately with the alphabet embossing folder. Run ink pad over raised parts randomly. Once it’s dry, fold card. Adhere blue flower. Print sentiment on computer, punch out, and punch apple brads through the top, adhere to flower. Add diploma sticker. Color pearl with copic marker to change color from white pearl to yellow and adhere to diploma. Tip: any alcohol marker can change the color of gems, pearls, buttons, etc...Add graduation sticker and button to the back. And lastly add red stickles glitter glue to the apples for some sparkle. Set aside to dry for 20-30min.
Supplies used: Bazzill 100lb cardstock; Sizzix Circle Flip-its die #657586; Sizzix Big Shot; ABC embossing folder; 3” scallop circle punch; Ranger Tim Holtz mini ink: faded jeans; Sentiment printed on pc; Creative Impressions brads and pearls; Graduation stickers;
