This adorable card is a 6" x 6" square, so extra postage will be needed for mailing, but it's also my first shaker card. I knew when I saw this adorable snowball stamp from Unity Stamps I wanted to make it feminine. And the Eat Cake Graphics sentiment stamp went with it perfectly...
On white watercolor paper I stamped the snowball image, colored with copic markers, added some stickles glitter glue for snowflakes, snow on the ground, and even to her tongue, and set aside to dry. Once dry, cut out image with large circle die cut and put aside.
Cut a large scallop circle and a second circle from pink polka dot pattern paper to create the circle frame. You can cut them both at once, just use masking tape or magnetic platform to hold dies in place. And cut the acrylic from the same large scallop circle die cut.
Flip over scallop circle and on the backside adhere acrylic circle with red super sticky tape. Then start lining the backside with pop dots all around, touching each other, with no gaps. Or your inside confetti will fall out. Add a little talc powder to the inside to prevent your confetti from sticking to the edges and be careful not to get any on the tops of the pop dots or it won't stick. Fill with confetti, glitter, beads, etc...I used sequins. Take your stamped image (snowball girl) and line up edges with scallop circle, adhere to each other, and adhere to card with red super sticky tape.
Stamp sentiment, sprinkle with embossing powder, heat set, punch out and adhere to card with pop dots. Add ribbons and gems. Viola! My first shaker card is done the easiest way I could with what I had. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Hopefully wherever you are that the snow will be done with us and all those spring flowers are at bloom.
Happy Spring! ~Kim
