What's your favorite Era? I have a few decades I love and the roaring 1920's is one of them. The old gangster movies, glamorous fashions, and the bold patterns of Art Deco. And my oldest son was just reading The Great Gatsby for school and inspired me to make this card. For this challenge I chose this stunning couple from a Graphic 45 framed pattern paper and built my card around them. He looks dashing in his tux from the 1920's, but her fashion is kind of 1850's high society. Maybe they're time traveling, but either way, I think it works. Click "Read More" for tutorial

I created a card base from cardstock and embossed the background on a separate piece of cardstock, sanded it a little to show the white/texture, and adhered panel to the card base. I found a template online, cut it out, attached with painters tape (or washi tape would work too) to the stripe pattern paper and cut it out. Another bold Graphic 45 print that is the perfect Art Deco back drop for this card. The template is posted below for you to use. Cut out and adhere the "couple" frame onto the stripe panel and adhere the whole piece to the card.
Who remembers mulberry paper? Well, just like you, of course I had some laying around too. And I saw something recently on Pinterest, that they sprayed mulberry paper with water and pulled it apart. It's an old technique, but one I had forgotten. So, I trimmed two strips in different colors, sprayed them lightly, pulled gently without tearing, to get this fiery look, and adhered the two strips to the card. I think it makes the couple look steamy, like a hot romance. Don't you think? lol
For the sentiment "Congrats!" I searched fonts on my pc and found this beauty called "Bodoni MT Black." I typed the title in Word and once I had the font size I liked I printed it out on matching paper. I cut it out and to get this Art Deco effect I trimmed the ends with just the top part of a heart punch and adhered to card. And it's another great card with absolutely
no stamping. Added some adhesive bubble gems to give it some extra sparkle and this roaring 20's beauty is simple, but stunning.
