I made a few "thinking of you" cards while dreaming of Spring and warmer weather. As I sit here looking out my window at 10 inches of snow and 8 degree weather outside. Our city is practically closed. All the schools are closed and businesses are asked to close early or not open today. I know we're not as bad as some cities, but our whole town is built on several hills and it's very dangerous out.
So, as any good crafter does on a snow day...we either go sledding or craft. Too cold to go sledding, so I made a couple cards for some dear people in my life to let them know we were thinking of them. I've seen a lot doilies on projects lately, so I wanted to add some to mine too...

I could have embossed the white background, but I wanted to leave it clean, crisp and white. I cut the doily in half, so you could see more color. Added some colored cardstock to make the doily pop.
I created the background by stamping ink directly to my acrylic block, spritzing with water, and stamping directly onto white cardstock. To create a mottled water color effect. Then stamped the flower and sentiment. I kept them the same color for a softer look . Add stickles glitter glue to make the flowers sparkle like the sunshine was hitting them. And put it all together. Very simple. I only used a few products, but I think it still needs some ribbon...so maybe not done yet. What are you making today?
