Update on our home renovation:
The contractor we hired last month is graciously on his 4th attempt to get this darn floor flat. Because the cement like product is fluid until it dries. Which has been frustrating, because the floor has to be smooth
and flat for the type of flooring we're using and it hasn't been drying smooth or flat. But luckily, he's determined to fix it today. (fingers crossed this is it!) Then it should be ready for cabinets and flooring next week and we can finally move in this month. We're SO SO close! (YAY!--fingers crossed)
Thank you SO for your prayers, kindness, and support during this
3 YEAR project!!! Yes, it has been that long!

<< Anyhoo... back to todays projects >>
I don't usually make resolutions, but I've got an on going
"New Years Resolution" in it's 3rd year now of using only
"new to me" not used Unity stamps in my
'Friends of Unity' projects every month.
Because those darn good sales get me EVERY time (lol)
and my stash just keeps growing!
Here's what I came up with...
Using limited supplies (because I'm mostly packed up for our move)
I combined some of my favorite things like pattern paper, color,
layers and of course some bling too!

Mothers Day is Sunday May 12th and Unity has some great stamps for those special ladies in your life that I'm sure you'd like to show your love and appreciation. And we have lots of inspiration for you. One special lady in my life is an avid tea drinker and I thought this stamp set was perfect for her.
I stamped on this soft pink pattern paper from Unity and I surrounded it with the rectangle scalloped border stamp set that is perfect if you are not a die cutting crafter or want a matching border. And it's one of my favorites.
Then I layered the image with a darker pink cardstock, then a dark brown cardstock, and adhered it to a white card base. Did a little coloring, added some pearls for a touch of elegant bling, and added a pink bow from a Unity gift bag to complete. It's Tea-time! Great for many occasions.

A Life That Touches Others Goes On Forever
Shhhhhhhhhhh.... Don't tell anyone, but this card is for my Mom.
And I'm going to apologize upfront, because this tree stamp has been discontinued. I know and I feel terrible and I had no idea until I went looking for it online and couldn't find it. But I could swear there is a version of this tree stamp in an older membership kit, but I couldn't find that either. So look in your stash you may have it. If you do, let me know and I'll add the kit name here for everyone to see too.
Again, I am so sorry, but I had to share this card anyways, because I didn't have time to make anything else. But I did include some amazing tree stamp substitutes below that are currently available at Unity. And I used a couple other stamps that are "new to me" on this card too!
I inherited some of her craft supplies and I try to incorporate some of her supplies in a lot of my projects to keep her memory alive, spread breast cancer awareness, and to feel closer to her. And while packing I came across this stamp and I've been wanting to use for a long time. It reminded me of a family tree and I know my mom will appreciate knowing it used to belong to Karla. This card is quite symbolic.

Next I randomly stamped the "thoughts of the past" in brown chalk ink because it looked like an old postcard on ivory cardstock and then the tree in brown chalk ink for a vintage mixed media type look. I roughed up the edges and inked them in brown to make it look aged. And adhered to the card.
Then I stamped the sentiment in brown ink on the same pastel green cardstock as the background, paper punched it, cut it down to fit in the corner and adhered to the card. Next I adhered this lovely butterfly with a white bow I got in a gift bag from Unity in the center of the tree. Because butterflies are symbolic of rebirth. And then I added some pearls for bling and to represent us family members. A great card for many occasions and no coloring.

Below are some amazing substitute tree stamps that would work too
