Our theme for June is... Masculine
Which can be really hard. Luckily I make masculine cards all the time, but I get stumped for ideas too!
Where do you look for masculine inspiration?
I turn to craft blogs, pinterest, facebook, and instagram.
Picture
It's the 6th month and I'm still continuing with my
"New Years Resolution" to use  "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
Like heat embossing, ink smooshing, and simple coloring.
So I am sharing birthday cards I made for my 3 sons this year.

Birthday Card for Son #1:

As I mentioned, I have 3 grown sons and I make lots of masculine cards. And I won't lie... they are challenging. But I found using a sketch and patterned paper helps a lot to ground a focal point. As I did here for my oldest son who loves red and black. And this was fun to put together with minimal supplies, scraps, & flat for mailing.
Picture
Supplies: Unity Many More Birthdays stamp set and coordinating die (temporarily out of stock) and Scallops & Circles nesting dies; Big Shot die cutting machine; Ranger Distress Oxide Ink-candied apple; Ranger clear heat embossing powder; Marvy Uchida heat tool; MISTI stamping tool; Papertrey Ink black and white cardstock; BoBunny Double Dot pattern paper; MME scrap pattern paper; and Scor-tape by Scor-Pal double sided tape.

Birthday Card for Son #2:

I love using background stamps and the ink smooshing technique to ground my focal point, which I created with several stamps. My second son loves video games and orange, which is funny, because after all the colors I used to ink smoosh this background, I ended up with mostly orange (lol). I heat embossed all the stamps, used simple coloring, and some extra sparkle on the balloon. And kept it fairly flat for mailing.
Picture
Supplies: Unity Extended Celebration (front and center stamps), Brutus Monroe/Unity Vintage Burlap (background stamp), Unity Everything wonderful (inside sentiment) and Unity Orange Cardstock; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Ink fine detail black and carnation red heat embossing powder; Versamarker clear embossing pen (red balloon inside); Marvy Uchida heat tool; AC Fine Detail Pens; Ranger Ink/Tim Holtz Watercolor white cardstock; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Ink colors: ROYGBVB; MISTI stamping tool; Papertrey white cardstock for card base; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape

Birthday Card for Son #3:

My third son loves his 20yr old red BMW that he is constantly fixing and reengineering to go faster. And I just so happened to have had a scrap piece of this fun vehicle background stamp. I did some simple coloring on the red sports car and added some bling to make it sparkle too and matched it to this fun Unity patterned paper of xoxo's, which is part of my signature when messaging my kids and it fit this card perfectly.
Picture
Supplies: Unity Vroom (background stamp), Unity Everything wonderful (inside sentiment), and Unity Enveloped in Love (paper pack); MISTI stamping Tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Distress Oxide Ink-candied apple; Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and clear sparkle pen; Papertrey Ink black and white cardstock; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape
And here are all the cards & techniques again.
Which is your favorite?

Our theme for May is... Inspired By
Which could be anything! So what inspires me? SO many thing, but I narrowed it down to these:

Artists
Color
Nature

Techniques

Picture
It's a new month and I'm continuing with my
"New Years Resolution" to use only "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
So what inspires me?
I am inspired every month by all the fabulous ladies
in this hop, so be sure to follow them too!
I love the whole rainbow of colors, techniques, and
 things found in nature.
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Beautiful Butterflies

I had this beautiful butterfly set on my desk from last months theme, but I didn't get around to using it. So I thought it would be fun to show you three different techniques using the same set.
The first technique I used is a very simple Copic 101 coloring technique I learned a few years ago from Jen Shurkus on how to color with just 2-3 alcohol markers and how to blend and shade with just a couple markers. As it's easy to get overwhelmed with all the many markers out there, color families, and blending techniques. She really keeps it simple and I like simple too.
Then I die cut a border around the image and ink blended around the edges to soften around the image, added a touch of clear sparkle to a few butterflies, and some embellishments to complete. Such a versatile set that's wonderful for so many occasions.
Picture
SUPPLIES: Unity- Endlessly Beautiful Stamp Set and Unity-Rectangles & Scallops Nesting Dies; Big Shot die cutting machine; MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Distress Oxide Inks: Faded Jeans; Picket Fence Blender Brush or Scrapbook.com brushes; Copic and Spectrum alcohol markers and SN Clear Sparkle Brush; Spectrum Noir Cardstock; American Crafts bakers twine; Adhesive Glitter Enamel Dots; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Scor-Pal - Scor-Tape (double sided tear tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #2: Pink Butterfly
The second technique I used is mostly ink blending around the edges and over some of the butterflies. And I highlighted just one of the butterflies with a couple pink pencils using Prismacolor Pencils and blending it with a clear sparkle brush for some extra bling.
Then added a couple stitched edges, a sentiment, and an adhesive glitter enamel embellishment to complete.
Picture
SUPPLIES: Unity-Endlessly Beautiful Stamp Set, Unity-Whit's Words Stamp Set (Hello.), Unity-Simple Mothers Day Stamp (inside sentiment) and Unity-Rectangles & Scallops Nesting Dies; Big Shot die cutting machine; MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Distress Oxide Inks: Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry; Picket Fence Blender Brush or Scrapbook.com brushes; Prismacolor Pencils; Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Brush; Spectrum Noir Cardstock; Adhesive Glitter Enamel Dots; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Floral scrap border from AC-Mayberry pad; Scor-Pal - Scor-Tape (double sided tear tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #3: Hello Pretty Butterflies
And the third card I used an ink smooshing technique. It's one of my favorite ways to play with ink, as every smoosh is different, and every card is unique with no extra coloring. Then I heat set it to dry or you can leave it over night. And then I fussy cut this bunch of butterflies out.
I dug in my bin of scraps and found this hot pink piece of cardstock that was screaming out for some texture. And I remembered I had a cloud embossing folder. Added the sentiment with distress oxide ink (because it's thick), clear embossing powder, and heat set. Which heat embossing is another technique I love to use. I found a couple more scrap strips and adhered those to the pink panel.
Adhered the bunch of butterflies to the panel, added an adhesive glitter enamel embellishment and added some clear glitter sparkle to a few butterflies for some bling to complete.

SUPPLIES: Unity-Endlessly Beautiful Stamp Set and Unity-Heart of Autumn Stamp Set (Hello); MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Darice Cloud Embossing Folder; Ranger Distress Oxide Inks: Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio, and Picked Raspberry; Ranger Clear Embossing Powder; Marvy Uchida Heat Tool; Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Brush; Ranger Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock; Adhesive Glitter Enamel Dots; Papertrey Ink hot pink background CS, light pink CS strip and white 110lb Card Stock base; Pink and white polka dot scrap strip from Doodlebug; Fiskars border punch (pink strip); Cutter Bee Scissors (best for fussy cutting); Scor-Pal - Scor-Tape (double sided tear tape) at Scrapbookpal.
Here are all the cards and techniques again.
Which is your favorite?

Our theme for April is... Butterflies
I know, right!?! I LOVE anything with butterflies,
so my head was spinning with SO many ideas!
Picture
No foolin'... it's a new month and I'm continuing with my
"New Years Resolution" to use only "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
Like coloring, ribbon, cards & tags this month.
Here's what I came up with...

Project #1: Hair Bun, Laptop, & Butterflies

I chose this Angiegirl because she resembles my daughter and I hadn't used her before. My daughter celebrated her birthday recently and she wears her hair in a bun like this often, has a laptop, wears comfy clothes, slippers, and loves butterflies. And I stamped a special butterfly envelope too!
As some of you know, we
lost my little sister to breast cancer 5 1/2 years ago and Native Americans considered
butterflies a symbol of  transformation, hope, and rebirth. And other cultures believe they are another spirit animal. So whenever we see a butterfly, we feel her near us, like a guardian angel. Enjoy all the butterfly inspiration!
Picture
Supplies used:

Unity Products: Clara Girl Stamp Set; Butterflies are from the Eeyore stamp kit; Efflorescence (envelope Art) Stamp; and Rectangles & Scallops Nesting Dies
Big Shot die cutting machine; MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Distress Oxide Inks: Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, and Fossilized Amber; Picket Fence Blender Brush; Copic and Spectrum alcohol markers and SN Clear Sprakle Brush; Spectrum Noir Cardstock; American Crafts Fine Detail Markers (pink/red); Papertrey Ink Cardstock: light blue, pink, purple, and white 110lb cardstock base; Scrappy Tape (double sided tear tape) at Scrapbookpal; and Assorted Colored Envelopes.

Project #2: Beautiful Butterfly Coffee Cup

I love coffee and butterflies, so this stamp set is a perfect combo. I kept this card pretty simple. I stamped on a scrap piece of light blue cardstock (it's thinner, but as tall as an A2 card), colored the butterflies and ground with alcohol markers, added some sparkle to the butterflies, a couple of crinkled ribbons, and this beauty was done in no time. So pretty for Easter, Mothers Day, or any occasion.

MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Copic and Spectrum alcohol markers and SN Clear Sparkle brush; Papertrey Ink Cardstock: lt. blue cardstock base; Scrappy Tape (double sided tear tape) at Scrapbookpal; and crinkle ribbon.

Project #3: Pure Magic Tag

I don't know if moths are considered butterflies or not, and I usually don't like moths, but this one I can't deny it's beauty, so I chose to share it today. I used a kraft tag I got from the many gift bags we get when we order from Unity. And kept it simple by only coloring the flowers with a white colored pencil and a white marker. Then I added some sparkle to the moth, which darkened it a bit, added a light pink adhesive glitter enamel dot to the center flower,  added a crinkle ribbon and some twine to finish this tag. So pretty for Easter, Mother's Day, a birthday, Graduation, or any occasion.

MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Pinecone brown ink; Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle brush; Ranger Ink Distress Marker-Picket Fence (white); Prismacolor pencil-white; a light pink adhesive glitter enamel dot; and crinkle ribbon.

Project #4: Butterfly tag or bookmarker

I save almost every scrap I think I can use on another project. I saw this scrap piece of stamped butterflies when I was going through my scraps and thought I can turn this into something. And it could be a gift tag, or a bookmarker, or could go on an A2 card too.
It was originally stamped on watercolor pattern paper using Distress Oxide Ink-Wilted Violet, clear embossing powder, and heat set. Then I a few other scraps adhered to white cardstock, added purple adhesive rhinestones and enamel glitter dots. Added this gorgeous purple rose ribbon that completes this project with NO coloring, just bling. Great for many occasions too!

Our theme for March is... Winnie the Pooh
That's right... Unity has LOTS of Winnie the Pooh & friends stamps, dies, and a SALE now too! OMGoodness! SO cute!

Picture
If you are new here, I'm continuing with my "New Years Resolution" to use only "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
Like coloring, ink, and pattern paper this month.
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Pooh & Piglet

I grew up with the Winnie the Pooh books and read them to my four kids too! They're such a classic and I'm SO excited Unity has designed many cute stamps to share these beloved characters for many years to come.
Today I imagined it's a blustery day and Winnie the Pooh and Piglet are on one of their adventures. They are skipping along, singing, and come across a balloon stuck on a bush. Curious, as Pooh often is, he untangles the balloon, and it starts to blow away. Piglet grabs Pooh to pull him back down, but the wind is too strong and whisks them away into the sunset onto their next grand adventure. Can you imagine that too?
Picture
Tutorial: I started with creating the background first. Using my MISTI stamping tool, white cardstock panel, and three distress oxide inks (shown below), I stamped this musical background. Heat set. Then blended some distress oxide-cracked pistachio ink around the edges, heat set and adhered to card. I wanted a worn, vintage, aged look for the musical background. Next using my MISTI and a white cardstock panel I stamped Winnie the pooh and piglet with Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink, which I love, but it will smear with alcohol markers. So I let it dry over night, but you can heat set or clear heat emboss it too. But the next day, it was totally fine to color with alcohol markers (shown below) without any smearing. I love pink and green, so I played with a few colors to get this soft springy vintage look. What's neat about Unity is they created matching dies for many of the Pooh stamps too, which I got too! Using my Big Shot and some purple craft tape to hold the die in place, I cut out the Pooh image. Cute, right? I usually have a purpose when I make cards, but this cutie didn't have one yet. So, using my MISTI, a scrap of white cardstock, and a sweet all occasion sentiment. I stamped it with cracked pistachio and inked the edges with worn lipstick to match the background. Pooh and Piglet image kind of got lost on the musical background, so I pulled out this beautiful pink and green stripe pattern paper from Unity. Using my Big Shot machine, I cut out a die cut stitched circle and that grounded the Pooh imagine and the sentiment. And gave it more of a focal point. It also looked like a muted sunset too. Then I cut out an A2 white 110lb card base (not shown) and adhered all the pieces to make the card. I adhered a pink watercolor pattern paper to the base, adhered the musical background to the pink panel, adhered the circle sunset to the musical panel, then adhered Pooh and Piglet and the sentiment to the sunset circle. And there you have an all occasion card, great for any time of year. What do you think?

Here is the card process:
Supplies used for Card #1:
Unity Products: Winnie the Pooh-Pooh Just Knew stamp set and coordinating die sold separately (temporarily sold out-keep posted), Worn Music background stamp, An Ungloomy Day (sentiment kit), and Unity Paper Pack-Enveloped in Love
Big Shot die cutting machine; MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Distress Oxide Inks: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Weathered Wood, Cracked Pistachio; Picket Fence Blender Brush; Copic and Spectrum alcohol markers; American Crafts white cardstock; Gina Marie Stitched Circle Die set; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Purple Craft Tape; Double sided tear tape (scor-tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Project #2: Eeyore!

I know our theme is Winne the Pooh, but he has some wonderful friends I'd like to share today too! Eeyore is a personal favorite of a special lady I'd like to surprise with this wonderful bookmark tag. As she's an avid book reader. I kept it fairly simple and love pink and brown together.

Our theme for February is...
All About the Sentiments!

With the start of a new year we all have stamps from last year we haven't used yet and some new ones too!
So lets dig out those sentiments, get inspired, & use them.

Picture
As I continue to keep my "New Years Resolution" to only use "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year I have picked
an assortment of sentiments to share with you today.
Along with a few of my favorite things like
pattern paper, heat embossing, and ribbon.
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Just A Note

It's a new year with lots of changes and it's only February!
Recently one of my co-workers resigned to pursue her dream job at the botanical gardens. We couldn't be happier for her, but will miss her! So I found it only fitting for us to wish her good luck with a "plant" card using this amazing stamp that's "new to me."

Picture
I've been trying to keep things simple lately, but I love layers. I had this embossing folder that reminded me of a trellis and used that with kraft cardstock as the background.

To keep things "earthy" I cut out green and white pieces of cardstock using these fun rectangle & scallop dies with my Big Shot die cutting machine. I don't usually die cut before I stamp, but it helped to center the plant stamp.
Next using my MISTI stamping tool, I stamped the plant image with Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. And proceeded to color with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I really wanted the sentiment to pop, so I placed the plant image in my MISTI again, stamped the sentiment with Versamark clear ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder, and heat set. And adhered to green cardstock and adhered to card base. Added a green satin ribbon. And on the inside we all added "just a note" to wish her well on her new adventure. I think she liked it! What do you think?

Here is the card process:
Supplies used for Card #1:
Unity Products: Hello Succulents stamp set; Gotta Love Sentiments; and Rectangles & Scallops Nesting Dies
Big Shot die cutting machine; Stampin Up/Sizix Modern Mosaic embossing folder; MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black pigment ink; Ranger Ink clear embossing powder; Versamark clear ink; Ranger Ink Seafoam white embossing powder; Marvy Uchida heat embossing tool; Spectrum alcohol markers; Brutus Monroe Lunch Bag (kraft) cardstock; American Crafts white (for image), green, and black cardstock; AC green satin ribbon; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Double sided tear tape (scor-tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #2: Happy Birthday Happy Birthday

This month a special lady is having a birthday and she loves roses and pink. And here is another beautiful stamp I have yet to use, until now. I know... I don't know what I've been waiting for. Keeping things simple, I decided to use this new gorgeous paper pack from Unity and it's great for many occasions, not just Valentines.
Picture
Using my MISTI stamping tool I stamped this trio of roses with Versamark clear ink on pattern paper, sprinkled with white embossing powder, and heat set. Next I used Distress Oxide Inks in red and orange and added the "happy birthday" in alternating colors. Heat set to dry, because oxides are thick and need drying time or it will smear.
Trimmed to size and adhered to another pretty rose pattern paper from the same paper pack. Then adhered to a white card base. Added adhesive pink pearls and this tea rose crinkle ribbon to finish this beauty and get her in the mail.

Here is the card process:
Supplies used for Card #2:
Unity Products: My Condolences (rose) stamp set; Heart of Autumn (front sentiments); Everything Wonderful (inside sentiment) and Enveloped in Love paper pack
MISTI stamping tool; Versamark clear ink; Ranger Ink Seafoam white embossing powder; Marvy Uchida heat embossing tool; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Inks: candied apple and carved pumpkin; tea rose crinkle ribbon; adhesive pink pearls; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Double sided tear tape (scor-tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #3: So Sorry

Sympathy cards are hard anytime of year and I've already needed four and it's only February. These are nice to have on hand when this unfortunate occasion arises and pretty simple to make. I made these gorgeous cards for my Aunt and two cousins who recently lost their husband/father. He was the last of my Uncles to pass away and a great man. He was a champion bowler and an outdoor enthusiast who loved to hunt and fish all over Michigan. His absence is felt across the miles.
Picture
I combined two different stamps to create this card. I'm not a big fan of moths, but I choose to believe these are more like butterflies that symbolize rebirth or resurrection. And this is a stunning set for so many occasions.
I kept it simple and used pattern watercolor paper as my backgrounds, but you can certainly create your own. And using my MISTI stamping tool I stamped the butterflies with clear ink on pattern paper, sprinkled with silver embossing powder, and heat set to get this wonderful metallic image. Then stamped this heartfelt sentiment in distress oxide ink colors to coordinate with the backgrounds.
Next I adhered the panels to black cardstock and adhered to a white card bases. And these are ready to mail out our condolences.

Here is the card process:
Supplies used for Card #3:
Unity Products: It’s Been Too Long (butterfly) stamp set and My Condolences (sentiment) stamp set
MISTI stamping tool; Versamark clear ink; Ranger Ink Silver embossing powder; Marvy Uchida heat embossing tool; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Inks: chipped sapphire and wilted violet; My Favorite Things watercolor pattern paper; American Crafts Black cardstock; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Double sided tear tape (scor-tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Here's another peak at all of them...

Our theme for January is... Birthdays!
With the start of a new year we all could probably use some birthday cards to have on hand, right!?! Sit back and enjoy the fun & get inspired to make your own yearly stash.
Picture
First I am proud to say I fulfilled last years "New Years Resolution."  Yay!!!
As many of you probably shopped Unitys awesome sales or got some goodies for Christmas.
I too got some more new stamps! Yay! Of course, right?
I can't help it (lol). I love them!

Do you make New Years Resolutions?

I usually do not, because I usually forget them (lol).
But, because this one was so achievable, helpful, fun,
and challenging at times, I've
decided to continue
that "New Years Resolution" and only use new to me Unity stamps every month this year too!

I love making birthday cards and I make a lot of them.
So I decided to share a feminine and a masculine cards combining
a few of my favorite things like heat embossing, markers, and ink. Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: New Beginnings
I made this gorgeous card for my boss and I'm glad she liked it. And now I can finally share it with you all.
These amazing images are all from one set and it's fun to arrange it anyway you want. It's a beauty for so many occasions. I chose to keep it simple with minimal layers and stamp these images on one piece of white cardstock with Versafine Clair Nocturne black ink and heat embossed in clear.

TIP: you could stamp with Versamark clear ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder too. Whichever you have on hand.

I colored with just a few colors and ink sponged around the image and heat set. I love the texture and effect you get with a sponge versus a blending brush. Then I matted the image with black cardstock and adhered to a white card base. It's hard to see, but I brushed on some clear wink of stella for some sparkle too!
Picture
Supplies used for Card #1:
Unity: Magical Lilac stamp set
MISTI stamping tool
Versafine Clair-Nocturne black pigment ink
Ranger Ink clear embossing powder, Marvy Uchida heat embossing tool
Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Ink-Fossilized Amber
Craft Sponge
Copic alcohol markers and Spectrum alcohol markers
Wink of Stella-Clear sparkle
Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Watercolor White Cardstock (for texture)
American Crafts black cardstock
Double sided tear tape (scor-tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #2: Seasonal Birthday
I have lots of fall birthdays in my family, which is why I used fall colors on this next card. But this fun set is great for anytime of year!
And before you say it, yes, I know I've used this balloon background stamp and sentiment before, BUT I couldn't make a birthday card and NOT use these amazing balloons. It's a must! And is fantastic in all the colors. BUT I have NOT used this tree stamp before,  which is the focus of this card.
Another simple card you can easily duplicate. I tapped on two distress oxide ink colors in red and orange randomly to the balloons, using my MISTI stamping tool I stamped on white cardstock, and adhered to an orange card base.
Then I stamped the trees and sentiment with Versafine Clair Pinecone brown ink on a scrap piece of orange cardstock and heat set, because it's a thick ink and needed to be dry. And adhered to card panel.
Using a Wink of Stella clear sparkle brush I inked the center tree and it turned it a darker orange with some sparkle. And added a few more dots of bling with Stickles diamond glitter glue, because masculine cards can have a little sparkle too!
Picture
Supplies used for Card #2:
Unity: Itsy Bitsy Giggles (trees)
Unity: Gotta Love Sentiments

Marvy Uchida heat embossing tool

your stamps
& create some wonderful Birthday cards to have on hand all year long.

Picture
Today's Project: Christmas Shoes

I got this fabulous stamp in a Unity surprise grab bag from a past monthly kit and it reminded me of an old holiday movie called "Christmas Shoes," so I had to use it. I heat embossed the image with black embossing powder and pulled out my fine detail colored pens to see how it would color up and I was pleasantly surprised. Then finished it with a touch of glitter glue and adhesive glitter enamel dots to make it sparkle.
Just another beautiful stamp I can't believe I hadn't used before, but would totally use for birthday cards, thank you cards, Valentines, Mothers Day, Fathers Day with different colors could be a great masculine crad or many other occasions throughout the year too!

Today's Project: Warm Wishes
I pulled out my water coloring pencils and a water brush and colored within the white heat embossed image. Another beautiful stamp set I can't believe I hadn't used until now. It's great for Thanksgiving cards, fall birthday cards, thank you cards, and more.

I kept it simple again, as I needed to finish coloring this main panel before my daughter got married last month (I shared pics below). Then I proceeded to stay up late last night and put this beauty together with a few of my favorite things, like patterned paper, ribbon, and enamel dots.
And I could have totally taken it a step further and added some glitter glue sparkles, because I like things to sparkle, but I kept it vintage looking. I like it. What do you think?

Anything BUT a card... OMGoodness!  What to make?
As usual, my biggest challenge is deciding "what" to use.

Follow along as I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use Unity stamps I haven't ever used before.
So far, I've done it every month this year and it's been great to use these stamps and show them some love!

I combined a few of my favorite things, like patterned paper, ribbon, embellishments, and heat embossing.
Here's what I came up with...

Today's Project: A Winter or Holiday Tag

It's really hard NOT to make a card, so I focused on tags, as the holiday season is soon upon us. I knew I wanted to make something blue and silver, as it's one of my favorite combos. And I can't believe I haven't used this beautiful stamp before either, but here we are... finally using it!
I kept things simple for mass producing tags, by using this amazing watercolor pattern paper pad that comes in many colors. I stamped the image with clear ink and heat embossed with this stunning silver metallic embossing powder.
I didn't add a sentiment, as I'm not sure what kind of tag it's going to be. It could be for somebody's winter birthday, a holiday gift tag, or add a "thank you" on orange paper for a Thanksgiving hostess gift tag or red/green for Holiday Hostess too. It's very versatile.
I framed each layer with these fabulous Scallop & Rectangle dies by Unity. They aren't just for cards, as they work here for tags too. I finished up with a few different ribbons and embellishments for some more sparkle.  What do you think???

OH! How we LOVE coffee, tea, and cocoa all year long!
What's your favorite?
I LOVE vanilla lattes and
anything pumpkin spice this time of year. My biggest challenge is usually deciding "what" to use.

Follow along as I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use Unity stamps I haven't ever used before.
So far, I've done it every month this year and it's been great to use these stamps and show them some love!
I combined several stamps with a few of my favorite things, like background stamps, splatters & ink smooshing, Angiegirls, and fall colors.
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Fall Birthday Card
We have a lot of fall birthdays in my family, so I knew I wanted to use fall colors. And I hadn't used this birthday balloons background before and they kind of looked like coffee cup stains. I didn't want to cover them up, so I used this vertical happy birthday balloon stamp, fussy cut this cute coffee cup, and popped it up in the center of the balloon. Great for anyone, anytime, just change colors! Easy and fun, right!?!
Picture
Supplies used:
Unity: Balloon Party (background) Stamp
Unity: Happy Birthday Balloon (itty bitty)
Unity: Coffee Side by Side (itty bitty) (coffee cup)
Unity: Rustic Wood 6x6 paper pack

MISTI stamping tool
Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Inks: Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple (Balloons); and Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain (coffee cup)
Paptertrey Ink Cardstock: White (Happy Balloon) and Orange 110lb cardstock (card base); Ranger Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock; 3D foam tape (coffee cup); Double sided tear tape (scor-tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #2: Witches Brew Card
I've been wanting this witch set for a while and not sure what took me so long, but I finally got her. Isn't she amazing? I LOVE her! And I've seen a bunch of cards with her colored lately, so I wanted to do something different. I ink smooshed  the background, stamped her and the sentiment in a dark brown ink (goes with the coffee theme-HeeHee), and just colored a few places on the witch.
As she enjoys her latte (cuz she's me), I'm sure she's brewing up some mischief for Fall. What do you think?

Supplies used:
Unity: A Real Witch Stamp Set (witch and sentiment)

OH! How we LOVE the Holidays... ALL of them!!!
So many ideas running through my head, as I love Fall, Halloween, and Christmas.
So my biggest challenge was deciding "what" to use.
Follow along as I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use Unity stamps I haven't ever used before.
So far, I've done it every month this year and it's been wonderful to use these stamps and show them some love!
I combined these holiday stamps with a few of my favorite things, like heat embossing, colored/kraft cardstock, and ribbon. And here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Halloween Wedding Card
Shhhh... nobody tell, but this card is for our daughter and her groom to be who are getting married in October with a Masquerade Ball theme. As we ALL love Halloween. Fun, right? We can't wait to celebrate!
So I wanted their card to be a little spooky, but elegant with lots of embossing and I think I
achieved that with a classic "gate fold" card, with a band, and using a few of their wedding colors too! I hope they like it!

I got this amazing deer in a grab bag, but it's actually part of a past monthly kit, and I had to use it. Then I discovered I hadn't used this sweet holiday word background either, so I knew I had to use them together.

Yes, Unity has Stencils!!!  So many ideas, "what" to use and "how" to use it.  Follow along as I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use Unity stamps/products I haven't ever used before.

BUT... Let me apologize up front...
as I did not know the tulip stamp/stencil bundle was out of stock
when I created this card. I am SO sorry!!!
If you email Unity, maybe they can make some more, I don't know,
or check the FB Unity Stamp Swap page and maybe you can
request to purchase one online.
BUT they do still have the wonderful tulip stamp set in stock.

Todays Project: "no rain, no flowers" tulip card

If you know me, you know I love a lot of layers and patterns, so this is pretty CAS (clean & simple) for me, as I wanted the tulips to be the focal point.
I love pink and green together and I just love these tulips. But again, I can't believe I hadn't used them before. I know, crazy, right? It's so pretty for so many occasions!
I bought the bundle with the stamp too, but I didn't use it here, as it doesn't need it, but it would add more details. And I like the softness I got from this blending technique using just the stencil and a few supplies.

Amazing, right? So many things have wings and so many ideas went through my head! My biggest challenge was deciding "what" to use and "how" to use it.  As I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use my Unity stamps or products I haven't ever used before.
And combined that with a few of my favorite things, like heat embossing, coloring, and ink smooshing.
So here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Hello
I love flowers and butterflies and combined them to make some Mother's Day cards, which you still have time today do too! Or these are all great stamps to use all year long for many other occasions.

I have loved this BIG flower background for a while and finally got to use it. Yay! It is truly beautiful with or without anything else on it, but in keeping with our theme, I added a few butterflies. Which are near and dear to my heart, as they represent resurrection, a spirit animal, or means an angel is near.

As some of you know, I lost my younger sister 4yrs ago to breast cancer and when I see a butterfly it is comforting to believe she or another angel maybe nearby. I know the holidays can be hard for those of you who have lost a loved one and please know my heart goes out to you and you are in my thoughts as I extend a virtual hug from across the miles. {{hugs}}
Picture
Supplies used:
Unity Inked Florals (past background stamp)
Unity Butterfly Endearment (large butterfly in heart)
Unity ...An Ungloomy Day stamp set (tiny butterflies and "Hello" sentiment)
Unity Autumn Dream pattern paper pack
Big Shot die cutting machine

Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Heart Dies (Unity has these now too!)
Spectrum Noir alcohol marker-Pink PP5 (around the heart edges)
Gina Marie Products-Pleated Lace Rectangle Die Set (border)
Unity Romantic Expressions paper pack (skirt, shoes, & background)

MISTI stamping tool
Versamark clear ink
Ranger Ink-Gold Embossing Powder
Marvy Uchida Heat Tool
Prismacolor pencils and water brush
Ranger Ink-Distress Oxide Inks: Worn Lipstick & Broken China (slightly mixed made the purplish heart background)

Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock
tear tape adhesive (scor-tape/scro-pal) from Scrapbookpal

Card #2: Happy Mother's Day

My next card I knew I wanted to use this sweet little "itty bitty" stamp set that believe it or not, I've never used either! I know... right!?! It's so cute!
It comes complete with these darling daisies and this sentiment. I knew I needed to "add" something with wings though and had leftover butterflies, so added one of those.

But I felt it needed a bit more... then I remembered I got the "Happy World" stamp set that donates $5 to Ukraine and that set had a bee stamp in there and  that was perfect for this card.

This was pretty fast and easy with some leftover paper scraps (National colors of Ukraine) and backed with this amazing pink plaid patterned paper that looks like a picnic blanket.
I kept both cards pretty flat mailing. What do you all think?

Our theme for April is... Pattern Paper
Fun, right? I LOVE pattern paper! I have bags and bins of scraps I can't throw away and try to use each month, but it keeps growing. And this theme is great for using up those scraps.  So, my biggest challenge is going to be "what" to use and "how" to use it.
So here's what I came up with...

Let's Get Started...

Card #1: Happy Birthday

Did you know Unity has it's own line of pretty pattern paper packs? They do! And it's gorgeous, thick, slick and good quality too! So, I decided I was going to use my Unity pattern paper (and scraps) to do some paper piecing for this months theme. And the Angiegirls line of Unity stamps are perfect!
Believe it or not, I just got this fabulous "Remi Girl" and couldn't wait to dress her up! Her sign and outfit are so fun to decorate for many occasions all year long!

A very sweet friend of mine is having a special birthday this month and she's sassy, classy, and almost always wears heels. So this card is perfect for her! I hope she likes it!
Picture
Supplies used:
Unity Remi Girl stamp set
Unity Gotta Love Sentiments stamp set (Happy Birthday)
Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies)-I used small scallop die
Big Shot die cutting machine

Unity Romantic Expressions paper pack (skirt, shoes, & background)
MISTI stmaping tool
Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink (Remi Girl, skirt, shoes)
Ranger Ink-Glossy Accents clear (to adhere skirt & shoes)
Versamark clear ink (sentiment)
Ranger Ink Embossing Powder-Carnation Red
Marvy Uchida Heat Tool
American Crafts black cardstock
Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock
tear tape adhesive (scor-tape/scro-pal) from Scrapbookpal

Click pics below for more card details...

Card #2: Marvelous Whale

I continue with another Unity pattern paper pack (and scraps) to do some more paper piecing with this fun stamp set. I LOVE whales and I've had this set for a while and have never used it either. I know, crazy, right!?! So today is the day! It too is fun for many occasions.

I love how the big flower blooms on top mimic waves in the ocean and the whale blends into the sea. He almost looks transparent, but he was stamped separately on coordinating pattern paper, fussy cut, and popped up with foam tape to complete this unknown marvel.

Supplies used:
Unity Other Side of Fear stamp set (whale & sentiment)
Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies)-I used large scallop die

Big Shot die cutting machine
Unity Pink & Blue Watercolor paper pack (whale & background)
Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink
Spectrum Noir alcohol marker GG1 (gray on whale)

Papertrey Ink light blue 110lb cardstock
Glitter adhesive dots
Tear tape adhesive (scor-tape/scro-pal) and foam tape from Scrapbookpal

Our theme for March is a Color Throw Down:
Kraft, Black, & White

Fun, right? I love kraft and I don't use it as much as I should. So this was challenging for me to ONLY use kraft, black, and white for everything,  as I love ALL the colors!
So here's what I came up with..

Let's Get Started...

Card #1: Motorcycle Birthday Card

I used Unity stamps, the new Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies), a little heat embossing, and kept it simple and masculine.

Unity Stamp Co products used:
Ride It Out
Slowing Turning Classic (sentiment)
So & So Loves (background on kraft)
Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies)- I used the large stitched die
Picture
Card #2: A Beautiful Feather

I am trying to use Unity stamps I've never used before... that's one of my goals this year, is to use "new to me" or never used stamps!  And this beautiful feather, believe it or not, I hadn't used until now. But I just love it for so many occasions.
What are your crafting goals this year?

Unity Stamp Co products used:
Beautiful is Never Perfect (feather and sentiment from same set)
Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies)-I used the large stitched die
Picture
Card #3: Butterflies

I LOVE butterflies and received this beautiful stamp in a grab bag, but didn't know the name. And Unity graciously told me which set it belonged too and I love the rest of that set too! So pretty for birthday cards or any occasion.

Unity Stamp Co products used:
Butterflies and Sunbeams {Aug 2015 sentiment kit)
Good Vibes for Reals (sentiment)
Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies)-I used the small stitched die and the small scallop die
Picture

Here is another peek at all 3 cards using ONLY black, white, & kraft colors...
I hope we've inspired you to try our color throwdown, play with your stamps, try different products, & see what you create.
The possibilities are endless!

Supplies I used are available below, with some affiliate links.

Happy New Year!!!

~ Friends of Unity Blog Hop ~
where several amazing designer friends got together 4 years ago to share
their love (and obsessions) of Unity Stamp Company
to inspire you with amazing projects each month!
I joined this amazing team 3 years ago and have been inspired and challenged every month and have made life long friendships!
Happy Anniversary, dear crafty friends! Cheers to many more years!

 ***
Before I get started... here's an update on my life, if you've been following me or not, we're still renovating a new house and I'm hopeful to move in by the Spring. Who knows?!? I'm hopeful. I've stopped asking my husband when, as we've had several delays and set backs.
It will happen when it happens.
I'm still in limbo with my crafting products split between two houses, which has made crafting a challenge. But because this months theme is CAS,
I was able to carve out some time and join the crafty fun this month!

Thank you for your patience, kindness, and support of my Blog,
social media channels, and
for following my crafty adventures during my crafting "limbo."  It means the world to me!

Our theme for January is... CAS = Clean and Simple!!!
Fun, right? Well, if you know me or follow me, then you know I love patterned paper, lots of layers, and bling. So CAS is very challenging for me and not typical of what I usually make. But because my supplies are split between two houses right now, I gave it a whirl with what I had on my desk, and this is what I came up with.  If I can do it, anyone can!

I kept asking myself "what is CAS?" "What is it really?" "What does it mean to me?"  And then I'd add something (lol).  So I looked up some CAS Rules and found these on several CAS Challenge sites and this is what I followed:
Clean and Simple (CAS) Definition:
*One main image
*Lots of open space (uncluttered)
*Limited layers & embellishments
*Keep it Simple
*Quick & easy to recreate

Let's Get Started...

Card #1:  Coffee... you're my favorite, duh!

I used three layers, because I'm easing myself into the CAS concept here, by using just 3 simple layers. (lol) I cut my 8.5"x11" white cardstock long ways, where my card folds at the top and opens at the bottom to get this look.
And on all my projects today I am using all Unity stamps I've never used before... that's one of my goals this year, is to use "new to me" or never used stamps!  What are your crafting goals this year?
Picture
Picture
Supplies: Unity Stamps: Coffee side by side and Whit's Words sentiment set. Other Supplies: Brutus Monroe Lunchbag (kraft) Cardstock; Papertrey Ink 110lb white cardstock; MISTI Stamping Tool; VersaFine Clair ink-Pinecone; Spectrum Noir red alcohol marker; crinkled vintage ribbon; Scor-tape (tear tape double sided adhesive) by Scor-Pal

Card #2:  All Bundled Up... brrr it's been COLD in the South!
I used two layers on this card, because I can't not use any layers yet! (lol) But it's getting less! That's pretty simple for me, but I'm determined to get even more CAS. Lets see if I can do it...
Picture
I only used 2 stamps from the same stamp set to keep it simple. And here is a close up of the Diamond Stickles glitter glue on the snowflakes, for a touch of sparkle, with less mess. Love it!
Picture
Picture
Supplies: Unity Stamps: In the Meadow. Other Supplies: Papertrey Ink 110lb white cardstock and light blue; MISTI Stamping Tool; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Ink-Faded Jeans and Diamond Stickles (glitter glue); Big Shot die cutting machine; Gina Marie Stitched Rectangle Dies; Scor-tape (tear tape double sided adhesive) by Scor-Pal

Card #3: Where Your Peeps Are
I used two layers here with more open space, and getting more CAS, for me. Don't you think?
I could make a bunch of these and send to friends or family, just to say "hello," so cute!
Picture
Click pics below or hover over for supply details.

Card #4:  Sent With Love
OMGoodness I did it!!! I can't believe it, but I only used ONE layer here, with some open space, and only bakers twine as an embellishment and NO bling! That's pretty BIG for me to do! And it's cute, right?
Again I cut my cardstock long ways, but turned the card to fold on the left and open on the right. I can make a bunch of these for Valentines Day or any lovey dovey day! It's a cute itty bitty set.
Picture
Picture
Supplies: Unity Stamps: Do Not Bend itty bitty set. Other Supplies: Papertrey Ink 110lb white cardstock; MISTI Stamping Tool; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Inks-Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple; AC red/white bakers twine.
Here is my CAS journey progression...
I hope we've inspired you to play with your stamps, try different designs, and see if you can make CAS cards too!
If I can, anybody can. (lol) T
he possibilities are endless!

products with some amazing new projects!

 ***
Before I get started...
Here's an update on my life. I went to Denver last month to honor my little sister, who passed away 4yrs ago, at 46yrs old, from breast cancer way too young! So, because I care... get a mammogram sooner than later!

We haven't moved into our new house yet, as we both changed jobs in August, which has slowed down renovations, and we've had some delays.
All is well, but most of my craft stuff is still packed up, so I unboxed a few things to hop this month, as I miss you all & crafting so much!
But I'll be taking a small break from hopping/blogging for the next couple months, so we can hopefully finish renovating and get moved in soon!

I want to let you all know how much I appreciate your patience,
kindness, and support of my blog, social media channels, and

Our theme for May is... Flora & Fauna!
I was inspired by nature, the colors of Spring, and the very beautiful floral stamps of Unity. I picked a few of my favorite stamps, some new to me stamps, and a few favorite techniques with very little coloring too!

Scroll down for new tutorials, enter our many
GIVEAWAYS, & get hopping to the next blog for more amazing inspiration!!!

Card #1: Spring Meadow Moose
I think many of you know I adore this moose stamp. I've used it many times for masculine cards, holiday cards, and a thanksgiving card published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine "here." for their 2020 fall issue.

But today, I've used him for Spring and a little differently. Can you figure out how? ........Give up?

Ok, I'll tell you... I stamped the moose as a mirror image of the original. Gotcha! (lol)  I know, I can't believe it worked either, as I've tried all kinds of things, but this time it really worked! (lol)

He's usually looking to the left, but I needed him looking to the right into the meadow. And I did that using my MISTI stamping tool, Unity's Mirror Stamping Tool, and Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. And I combined the two Moose stamp sets to create a spring meadow scene.
Picture

Supplies I used: Spring Meadow Moose Card
Unity Stamp Co Products: Northwoods Peace (has smaller moose & trees); Winter Wild {smak 10/17 kit} for the bird on the fence stamp; Abundant Blessings (sept. 2017 sentiment kit), which is one of my favorites; Versafine Clair Pinecone Ink; Mirror Stamping Tool

Picture
Supplies I used: Corner Flower

Card #3: Slimline Flowers

Because Unity has tons of beautiful flower stamps and believe it or not, I hadn't stamped this one until now. Isn't she pretty?
I combined my love of "ink smooshing" and flowers and made this lovely slimline card. And if you don't know what that means, it is a longer, thinner card that fits in a #10 business envelope. Usually with dimensions of approx 3.5" x 8.5."

Our theme for March is a... Sketch!
That's right...we're all creating with the same sketch to show you several different possibilities. Because sometimes it gives you a good starting point, especially when you're stumped for a design. Fun right!?!

I was inspired by the beauty and colors of Spring! I don't know about you, but it's been too cold in the South and this girl is ready for some sunshine, blooming flowers, and warm days!

some amazing floral stamps, I've created (3) cards

Our theme for February is... Paper Piecing!
And if you don't know what 'paper piecing' is, it's a great way to use up your scraps and stamp images on various patterned papers and 'dress' your image.  Kind of like 'paper dolls' some of us played with as kids. Fun right!?!
I was inspired by Galentines (Feb 13th), a day to celebrate your girlfriends/gal pals and Valentines Day (Feb 14th)

Card #1: I made this darling snowman card using this adorbaly LARGE snowman stamp. He's huge, like as big as my hand, but so fun to 'dress up" with patterned paper scraps. Which is why I used so many scraps. He's cute for so many lovey dovey occasions, Valentines, Galentines, or anytime!

Picture
Card #2: Is a fabulous Angiegirl I transformed into a Galentines girl or she could be an Alabama football fan in her Alabama "roll tide" outfit, maybe celebrating their 2021 National Championship! But she's fun to color or "dress up" for winter, Christmas, or anytime of year!

Unity Stamps: Angiegirl "Christine Girl" and sentiment

Congratulations!!!

Our theme for December is... My Favorite Things!
Well, this could mean many different things to all of us. So, I'm sharing some of my favorite Unity stamps & favorite techniques. Like I LOVE heat embossing, celebrating, coloring, ink smooshing, and the many fabulous Angiegirls!
Card #1: I am using my favorite Ranger gold embossing power, clear embossing powder, and Versamark clear ink; Unity Stamp Sets: New Year-Midnight Resolutions (wit & wisdom), Numbers, ETC, Tiny Grained Banners, and Go Forward; MISTI stamping tool; Graphic 45 patterned paper; Brutus Monroe Lunchbag kraft cardstock; AC gold glitter cardstock; Gina Marie stitched dies; a few adhesive metallic stars; and a gold ribbon finishes up this sparkling card to ring in the New Year!
Cheers to a better 2021!
Picture
Here is a close up of all that sparkle...and I added just a touch of black to the "happy new year" to make it stand out more.

At the end of this post you will find Supply links for the products I used to make all of these cards.
Picture
Card #2: Is a monochromatic card using one of my favorite Angiegirls from Unity Stamps set "Warm & Cozy Season," using my MISTI stamping tool, Memento black tuxedo ink, and colored with my favorite Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Papertrey Ink cardstock, and BoBunny Double Dot patterned paper; and a circle die cut set from Gina Marie Designs. With a heat embossed sentiment (from the same kit) using Distress Oxide Ink in Cracked Pistachio and Versamark clear ink to create this cozy card.

And if you aren't a fan of faceless girls, that's ok. Unity makes face stamps to use along with these pretty girls too!
Picture
Here is a close up of this pretty girl...
Picture
Card #3: Is a Unity Stamp Angiegirl favorite of mine called "December Girl" and I made this pretty girl last year for a fellow designer friend "Bobbie Sue's" birthday, but I never got a picture of it. And she surprised me with this sweet picture yesterday, so I decided to share it with you all...finally! Sweet, right? Thank you so much Bobbie Sue!!!

The background is created with one of my favorite techniques called
"ink smooshing" using distress inks, spray water, a MISTI stamping tool, and Memento black tuxedo ink. The girl and flowers are lightly colored with Prismacolor watercolor pencils. And using a mix of my favorite Papertrey Ink cardstock; patterned papers from BoBunny Double Dot and Lawn Fawn Plaid; a favorite stitched die cut from Gina Marie Designs; and a sentiment stamp from a Unity grab bag perfectly completes this beautiful girl!
Picture
Card #4: Uses another favorite Angiegirl from the Unity Stamp set " Dream of Being {so loved}" with a sentiment from "Comfort to Go." And I'm SO excited to share with you all that this card is published in the Winter 2020 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine available now worldwide in digital or print!!!

This girl is stamped using my MISTI stamping tool, Gina K Designs-Amalgam black ink, and colored with Spectrum Noir markers; layered with my favorite Papertrey Ink solid cardstocks, pretty blue pattern paper from BoBunny Vintage Dot, and plaid pattern paper from Lawn Fawn; a favorite banner die cut from Gina Marie Designs; and finished with several Unity sequins for some added sparkle!

Our theme for November is... Backgrounds!
I'm excited to share this handmade background I created and heat embossed in a few different ways too! I used a mix of two of my favorite Unity stamps "Worn Music" background stamp, a big doodly leaf from the "Full of Fall" set, and a sentiment from "Friend Like You" set that are in the big "Brown Thursday" Unity Sale too! Everything is on sale and it's their version of "black friday" but it started Thurs 11/5 and goes longer than one day! Yay!!!
Picture
Tutorial: I started with an 8.5” x 11” Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock, folded in half and trimmed down to 5.5” x 6.5” for our card base. And save the leftover kraft cardstock for our sentiment. Trimmed this amazing beige plaid patterned paper (from Unity Rustic Winter Wishes pack) down to 5”x 6” and adhered to the card base as shown. And set aside for a moment.
Picture
Next I got out my original MISTI stamping tool, distress oxide inks, and memento black ink. Trimmed a white piece of cardstock down to 3.5 x 5.5,” placed the worn music background stamp on the MISTI and inked it up with black ink a couple times onto the cardstock. Then I flipped the leaf stamp over, placed the doodly front side onto an acrylic block. Trust me, it works. And inked up the backside of the stamp with distress oxide inks rusty hinge first, then walnut stain, stamped randomly onto the panel, over the worn music image.

Using a Picket Fence blending brush I added some vintage photo regular distress ink around the leaves to give the panel a vintage look. And heat set to dry.
Picture
I took my Versamark clear ink pad and pressed it all across the whole leaf panel, covered it in clear embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and heat set. Then I dabbed the corner of the clear ink pad in small random spots over the panel, and literally took a pinch of gold embossing powder and sprinkled it lightly in random spots over the panel, so as to not cover the images, just add some golden sparkle, and heat set. And adhered the whole panel to a dark brown cardstock and adhered to the card. Can you see the smidges of gold sparkles here and there?
Picture
Remember that leftover piece of kraft cardstock? Well, now we’re going to use it. I trimmed it down to 3x5,” got the MISTI out again, placed the sentiment stamp on it, inked it up with clear ink, took the stamped panel out of the MISTI, sprinkled with gold embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and heat set. Adhered to a scrap piece of gold glitter cardstock I had in my stash, and adhered to the card.

Here's another peak...

I could have jazzed it up more with ribbon or embellishments, but if you saw the shine on this card in person, you’d understand, it doesn’t need any embellishments. And voila! I have a pretty fall card for a special friend or any occasion.

I hope I've inspired you to play with your stamps, mix them up, try heat embossing, and see where it takes you!
