Our theme for April is...
Mother's Day for May 12, 2024

Grab a cup of your favorite liquid, cozy up to follow along with us (hop list below) & shop too! āā***
If you follow this Blog or just found us, Welcome!
Just click the pink follow button below and never miss a post or giveaway! Before we get started... Be sure to check our ==> March Blog Hop to see if you are one āof our ā many Winners and claim your prize! Our winner here at āMy Kraft Kloset, for March 2024 is... "Vannessa O." āāCongratulations!!! āāāā*** Update on our home renovation: The contractor we hired last month is graciously on his 4th attempt to get this darn floor flat. Because the cement like product is fluid until it dries. Which has been frustrating, because the floor has to be smooth and flat for the type of flooring we're using and it hasn't been drying smooth or flat. But luckily, he's determined to fix it today. (fingers crossed this is it!) Then it should be ready for cabinets and flooring next week and we can finally move in this month. We're SO SO close! ā(YAY!--fingers crossed) Thank you SO for your prayers, kindness, and support during this 3 YEAR project!!! Yes, it has been that long! ā << Anyhoo... back to todays projects >>āā āI don't usually make resolutions, but I've got an āon going "New Years Resolution" in it's 3rd year now of using only ā"new to me" not used Unity stamps in my 'Friends of Unity' projects every month. Because those darn good sales get me EVERY time (lol) and my stash just keeps growing! Here's what I came up with...ā Using limited supplies (because I'm mostly packed up for our move) I combined some of my favorite things like pattern paper, color, ālayers and of course some bling too!ā ā
Card #1: You are TEA-riffic
Mothers Day is Sunday May 12th and Unity has some great stamps for those special ladies in your life that I'm sure you'd like to show your love and appreciation. And we have lots of inspiration for you. One special lady in my life is an avid tea drinker and I thought this stamp set was perfect for her. I stamped on this soft pink pattern paper from Unity and I surrounded it with the rectangle scalloped border stamp set that is perfect if you are not a die cutting crafter or want a matching border. And it's one of my favorites. Then I layered the image with a darker pink cardstock, then a dark brown cardstock, and adhered it to a white card base. Did a little coloring, added some pearls for a touch of elegant bling, and added a pink bow from a Unity gift bag to complete. āIt's Tea-time! Great for many occasions.
Supplies I used: Unity Tea Love stamp set; Unity Rectangle Scalloped border stamp; Unity Enveloped In Love pattern paper pack; MISTI stamping tool; Quick Quotes Powder Puff chalk ink-Kokomo; Papertrey Ink cardstock in dark pink, dark chocolate and white; American Crafts Fine Tip Markers; Kat Scrappiness snow pearls; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape from ScrapbookPalā.
ā
āHover over the pictures below for more details.
Card #2:
A Life That Touches Others Goes On Forever Shhhhhhhhhhh.... Don't tell anyone, but this card is for my Mom. And I'm going to apologize upfront, because this tree stamp has been discontinued. I know and I feel terrible and I had no idea until I went looking for it online and couldn't find it. But I could swear there is a version of this tree stamp in an older membership kit, but I couldn't find that either. So look in your stash you may have it. If you do, let me know and I'll add the kit name here for everyone to see too. āAgain, I am so sorry, but I had to share this card anyways, because I didn't have time to make anything else. But I did include some amazing tree stamp substitutes below that are currently available at Unity. And I used a couple other stamps that are "new to me" on this card too!
Supplies I used: Unity Dream Tree stamp set (sorry discontinued, see alternatives below); Unity Thoughts From The Past stamp set (background); Unity Life Touches stamp set (sentiment); Unity Enveloped In Love pattern paper pack (strip on left side); MISTI stamping tool; Quick Quotes Powder Puff chalk ink-Kokomo; Papertrey Ink cardstock in ivory and white; American Crafts pastel green cardstock; Stampin Up decorative Label Punch (or EK Success has one too); Kat Scrappiness snow pearls; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape from ScrapbookPalā.
I did find out from Kelli, at Unity, that this tree is one of the original "Dream Tree" stamps that was mounted on maple wood and turned into it's own red rubber kit. And I treasure it because it used to belong to my younger sister, who some of you know, passed away from breast cancer in 2017.
I inherited some of her craft supplies and I try to incorporate some of her supplies in a lot of my projects to keep her memory alive, spread breast cancer awareness, and to feel closer to her. And while packing I came across this stamp and I've been wanting to use for a long time. It reminded me of a family tree and I know my mom will appreciate knowing it used to belong to Karla. This card is quite symbolic. āāHover over the process pictures below for more details.
Unity has many amazing pattern paper packs that are on sale this weekend. I love to mix and match themes and I chose this soft muted "Enveloped in Love" pack as my background, cut a 1" strip, and adhered it along the left side of a white card base. And adhered a soft pastel green cardstock next to the pattern strip.
Next I randomly stamped the "thoughts of the past" in brown chalk ink because it looked like an old postcard on ivory cardstock and then the tree in brown chalk ink for a vintage mixed media type look. I roughed up the edges and inked them in brown to make it look aged. And adhered to the card. Then I stamped the sentiment in brown ink on the same pastel green cardstock as the background, paper punched it, cut it down to fit in the corner and adhered to the card. Next I adhered this lovely butterfly with a white bow I got in a gift bag from Unity in the center of the tree. Because butterflies are symbolic of rebirth. And then I added some pearls for bling and to represent us family members. A great card for many occasions and no coloring. ā Below are some amazing substitute tree stamps that would work tooā
Here is a close up of both special "Mom" cards...

ā āOur theme for May is...
Amazing, right? So many things have wings and so many ideas went through my head! My biggest challenge was deciding "what" to use and "how" to use it. ā As I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use my Unity stamps or products I haven't ever used before.
And combined that with a few of my favorite things, like heat embossing, coloring, and ink smooshing. ā āSo here's what I came up with... ā ā
āāCard #1: Hello
I love flowers and butterflies and combined them to make some Mother's Day cards, which you still have time today do too! Or these are all great stamps to use all year long for many other occasions. I have loved this BIG flower background for a while and finally got to use it. Yay! It is truly beautiful with or without anything else on it, but in keeping with our theme, I added a few butterflies. Which are near and dear to my heart, as they represent resurrection, a spirit animal, or means an angel is near. ā As some of you know, I lost my younger sister 4yrs ago to breast cancer and when I see a butterfly it is comforting to believe she or another angel maybe nearby. I know the holidays can be hard for those of you who have lost a loved one and please know my heart goes out to you and you are in my thoughts as I extend a virtual hug from across the miles. {{hugs}}

I know... right!?! It's so cute! It comes complete with these darling daisies and this sentiment. I knew I needed to "add" something with wings though and had leftover butterflies, so added one of those. But I felt it needed a bit more... then I remembered I got the "Happy World" stamp set that donates $5 to Ukraine and that set had a bee stamp in there and that was perfect for this card. ā This was pretty fast and easy with some leftover paper scraps (National colors of Ukraine) and backed with this amazing pink plaid patterned paper that looks like a picnic blanket. I kept both cards pretty flat mailing. What do you all think?

Happy Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8th! āHappy 14th Birthday Unity Stamp Co! ā I wish you happiness & craftiness, always! āāāxoxo ~ Kim ā āā Follow our social media channels for more inspiration: Todays project I'm sharing a wonderful "lovey dovey" all occasion mini shaker card using these amazing shaker bits from Kat Scrappiness (KS). They are a one stop shop for so many crafty products. Check them out! One more day to stock up on embellishments SALE & SAVE too! Click on pic below to Shop... I started with putting my patterned papers together to see what I liked together. I liked the NEW KS Spectrum of Love Slimline paper pack, it's full of wonderful rainbow colors and hearts. I wanted a neutral card, so I chose the gray/white hearts as the background for this mini shaker card and trimmed it to the size of the KS Slimline Diamond Wire die. Using a 5x7" Tonic clear Shaker envelope, I placed the gray/white hearts panel in the center, folded it over (as it's bigger than the paper panel), and adhered three sides of the clear shaker envelope, leaving one side open to add the KS Heart Sprinkles (shaker bits) and added a few extra die cut red hearts leftover from another KS card inside too and then sealed it up. I liked the EP black pattern as my outside frame. I cut it out with the KS Mini Slimline Diamond Wire & Wood Grain Frame Die using a Big Shot die cutting machine, and adhered that panel to the top of the clear shaker envelope. Set a side for a moment... While I created a card base from black 110lb cardstock, trimmed the "lips" EP pattern paper to fit across the card, leaving a bit of black cardstock border at the top and bottom, and adhered to the card base. And then firmly attached the shaker panel to the card. Next using my MISTI stamping tool, I lined up two sentiments side by side from the KS Friendship Greetings stamp set, inked them up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on black cardstock, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled over red embossing power, tapped it off, and heat set. I cut a strip of EP "lips" patterned paper. Trimmed down the sentiment on black cardstock, cut banners to each end and adhered to the "lips" patterned paper strip and adhered to the center of the card. Then I added a leftover red heart die cut to the left side of the sentiment. Added some red enamel dots, and colored in a few red hearts along the frame with a red alcohol marker to complete this lovely card. So great for any lovey dovey occasion (Birthdays, Anniversary, Valentines, etc...) any time of year! Shake Shake Shake... check out these shaker bits... So fun & no mess! Yes, boys can have bling too... you'll see! On this card I used "Just A Number Background" stamp that I placed in my MISTI stamping tool, inked it up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on this amazing blue wood patterned paper, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. And used Ranger Distress Oxide ink-Faded Jeans on the sentiment "happy birthday" stamp with clear embossing powder. And watch the "magic." I love this technique when you have endless colors of "thick" or pigmented inks, but not all the pretty embossing powder colors. This one I call Clear/Clear (clear ink/clear embossing powder) for the background. and Color/Clear (colored pigment ink/clear embossing powder) for the sentiment. Click the photo's below for more details on the process. Supplies I used are available below, with some affiliate links. Happy Shopping!
