We have 4 grown kids, one daughter and three sons, including a set of twins who graduated high school last May.
We’re almost empty nesters and are entering a new phase of our lives. We’ve been renovating a new house for what seems like forever (9mo), to downsize a bit, with a soon to be awesome craft room, and I’m hopeful to be moved in soon. In the meantime, my craft supplies have been in limbo between two houses.
By day or night I’m a retail manager at BBW and I love it. And in my spare time I’m a published card maker, blogger for 7yrs, an occasional scrapbooker, and jewelry maker. My late sister introduced me to card making 18yrs ago and that’s when my obsession began. I craft in her honor with some of her supplies I’m so grateful to have.
I’ve been crafty all my life. I love stamping, pretty papers, crafty tools, and anything sparkly! I found Unity about 10yrs ago and fell in love with their beautiful products that speak to my soul. They have created an amazing supportive crafty community online that inspires me everyday.
I’m honored to be chosen as a (GIU) Growing in Unity gal this week and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite Unity things with you all. Follow along and comment each day this week to enter to win (2) Unity Stamp Co prizes!
Let the crafty adventures begin...
Today's project is a very special birthday card for one of my twin boys who turned 19yrs old this month. Wow! Time flies! And masculine cards can be hard at times, but I have 3 sons, so I'm always looking for inspiration. I love background stamps and have tons of sentiments. So I used some of my favorite things and some new things today, like "new to me" Unity Stamps, scraps of patterned paper, and heat embossing.
I love the "magic" you get with heat embossing. It's such a cool effect!
This one I call Clear/Clear (clear ink/clear embossing powder)
and Clear/White (clear ink/white embossing powder)
Click the photo's below for more details on the process.
