Our theme for January is Laughter, Giggles & Smiles
Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were filled with fun and laughter, as mine were. Because life is too short not to enjoy every minute.
So this theme is perfect to create with things that make us laugh.

I also decided to keep my "New Years Resolution" going a 3rd year to use "new to me" not used Unity stamps every month this year too!
Because like some of you, I have a bunch I haven't used yet and of course, I couldn't help myself and bought more amazing stamps during their awesome holiday sales!
Today I combined some of my favorite things like pattern papers, coloring, snowmen, funny sentiments, and some sparkle, of course!
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Damn...You're Old!!
OH! Damn... my twin sons turn 21 years old this month! I blinked and how did that happen? (lol) This stamp set was perfect for making a couple of birthday cards for them and they will get a giggle out of that sentiment and ALL those candles!
I made these gate fold cards by combining coordinating pattern papers, dug out my alcohol markers from a packed box (because I missed them and haven't moved or unpacked yet, but soon) and did a little coloring. I kept them pretty flat for mailing, but added a touch of bling to make those candles sparkle A LOT, cuz they are OLD now! (lol) And now that I have found this set, I will reuse it again for many occasions. It's so fun!

Card #2: Winter Shake Up
I love snow globes and just got this amazing stamp set and I wanted to make something with the snowman. But how to make it funny? It got me thinking... I have 4 kids and they are each kind, unique, different, and funny people. So I stamped 4 snowman, making one funny, but upside down, and colored them in my kids favorite colors. I stamped some snow banks and snow flakes from the same stamp set and added some sparkle. And I found this funny sentiment in another kit that just made me giggle at this whole card remembering the kids playing on snowy days. Oh what fun! This is another stamp set I will use again for birthdays and Christmas too!

Before I get started...
Update on my life: As some of you may know, my hubby and I have been renovating a house for over 2yrs and have had many many set backs.
And right now the kitchen is the pain in our butts and has us at a stand still until some things get fixed. Then the cabinets and floors can be installed. And once I have a working kitchen we can move in, hopefully by Christmas, but I don't know, things seem to move slower in the South.
I thank you for your kind thoughts, prayers, & support during this transition. While my craft supplies have been packed up between here and there since July. Which is why you haven't seen me around the craft world much. But I got restless and found some supplies and got creative so I could share and hop this month.

Our theme for November is... Slimline
If you don't know what that means, they are a long thin type of card, which gives you lots of space to create upon. They are about 8-1/2" x 3-1/2" or 4"x9" or a combination that would fit into a #10 business envelope, which is 4 1/8″ x 9 1/2″ and uses (1) first class stamp (Really! if it's flat and not bulky).

I'm still continuing with my "New Years Resolution" to use "new to me" not used Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things. Like creating my own backgrounds, playing with watercolors, and making fall cards.
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Blessings of Fall
As I mentioned above, most of my craft supplies are packed up. So I was limited on what was still around me, but I found these amazing Color Burst powder inks by Ken Oliver, some chalk ink pads, and not all my stamps are boxed up. Yay!
I started with an 8.5"x11" piece of white cardstock to create the background and cut it into several pieces to make a few cards out of one sheet to send out for Thanksgiving.
Try not to laugh to much on this next part, but us crafters are very creative when we are determined (lol). And I could not find any water spray bottles or a mister anywhere, so I improvised with one of my B&BW scented body spray mists (lol). Which worked, BUT the scent was SOOO strong it made us retreat from our house for 2-3 days until it aired out (lol). My hubby was NOT amused (lol). So I recommend using an unscented water spray bottle, do NOT do what I did. -- it was quite perfumey! (lol)

I will tell you if you use a water spray bottle, the colors will spread better and the panel will take longer to dry. Next I inked up this "new to me" amazing large fall border stamp in a brown chalk ink, placed the stamp gently onto the cardstock panel, and pressed it down evenly. I did this twice on each end of the cardstock panel, with a slight overlap in the middle, but that will be covered up by the sentiment. I didn't use a stamping tool, because my large MISTI was boxed up, but this stamp is easy to manage by itself.

Card #2: Gratitude
I did the same process on this card as my first card, except I changed the border stamp, which I have used before, but gosh, it's one of my favorites, and I just love it not colored or colored. It's just amazing. And I changed the card base to a brown cardstock, the ribbon, and the sentiment cardstock colors too.

Kat Scrappiness Sale + All Occasion Love Cards

Todays project I'm sharing a wonderful "lovey dovey" all occasion mini shaker card using these amazing shaker bits from
Kat Scrappiness (KS).
They are a one stop shop for so many crafty products.

I started with putting my patterned papers together to see what I liked together. I liked the NEW KS Spectrum of Love Slimline paper pack, it's full of wonderful rainbow colors and hearts.

I wanted a neutral card, so I chose the gray/white hearts as the background for this mini shaker card and trimmed it to the size of the KS Slimline Diamond Wire die. Using a 5x7" Tonic clear Shaker envelope, I placed the gray/white hearts panel in the center, folded it over (as it's bigger than the paper panel), and adhered three sides of the clear shaker envelope, leaving one side open to add the KS Heart Sprinkles (shaker bits) and added a few extra die cut red hearts leftover from another KS card inside too and then sealed it up.

I liked the EP black pattern as my outside frame. I cut it out with the KS Mini Slimline Diamond Wire & Wood Grain Frame Die using a Big Shot die cutting machine, and adhered that panel to the top of the clear shaker envelope. Set a side for a moment...

While I created a card base from black 110lb cardstock, trimmed the "lips" EP pattern paper to fit across the card, leaving a bit of black cardstock border at the top and bottom, and adhered to the card base. And then firmly attached the shaker panel to the card.

Next using my MISTI stamping tool, I lined up two sentiments side by side from the KS Friendship Greetings stamp set, inked them up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on black cardstock, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled over red embossing power, tapped it off, and heat set.

I cut a strip of EP "lips" patterned paper. Trimmed down the sentiment on black cardstock, cut banners to each end and adhered to the "lips" patterned paper strip and adhered to the center of the card.

Then I added a leftover red heart die cut to the left side of the sentiment. Added some red enamel dots, and colored in a few red hearts along the frame with a red alcohol marker to complete this lovely card. So great for any lovey dovey occasion (Birthdays, Anniversary, Valentines, etc...) any time of year!

Happy Holidays Slimline Card + Kat Scrappiness

which I'm not complaining, but the calendar says
Christmas is right around the corner.
Are you making Holiday cards or ready for mailing?
Well, I've got some cards made, but not ready to mail just yet!
That's ok! We still have time to make some cards!
Or send New Years cards! Your friends and family are just thrilled to get a handmade card and to hear from you any time of year!

and flat for mailing too! Remember if your envelope is bulky,
you'll need extra postage.
Included is this fun die to make your own envelopes too! I used a few fun Kat Scrappiness dies, pattern papers (great use of scraps), a little alcohol marker coloring, and a few hole punch embellishments made from glitter cardstock scraps.

I can only scroll Instagram and Pinterest for so long. So I might just unpack a few things to stamp or color, so I can get some creative mojo back.

Isn't this just darling? I love the soft colors, the different patterns, and this adorable owl. And well, I think you know how I feel about cardinals. If not, I love them, as I believe they are spirit animals of someone special that is near me. And I see them all the time here in my yard.

I was inspired by nature, the colors of Spring, and the very beautiful floral stamps of Unity. I picked a few of my favorite stamps, some new to me stamps, and a few favorite techniques with very little coloring too!

Card #1: Spring Meadow Moose
I think many of you know I adore this moose stamp. I've used it many times for masculine cards, holiday cards, and a thanksgiving card published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine "here." for their 2020 fall issue.

But today, I've used him for Spring and a little differently. Can you figure out how? ........Give up?

Ok, I'll tell you... I stamped the moose as a mirror image of the original. Gotcha! (lol) I know, I can't believe it worked either, as I've tried all kinds of things, but this time it really worked! (lol)

He's usually looking to the left, but I needed him looking to the right into the meadow. And I did that using my MISTI stamping tool, Unity's Mirror Stamping Tool, and Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. And I combined the two Moose stamp sets to create a spring meadow scene.

Card #2: Corner Flower
I really wanted to create a simple and neutral looking card. And this stamp is great for all different kinds of cards all year long!

Card #3: Slimline Flowers
Because Unity has tons of beautiful flower stamps and believe it or not, I hadn't stamped this one until now. Isn't she pretty?
I combined my love of "ink smooshing" and flowers and made this lovely slimline card. And if you don't know what that means, it is a longer, thinner card that fits in a #10 business envelope. Usually with dimensions of approx 3.5" x 8.5."

Polka Dot Orchard Halloween Creations

Here are my latest cards for Halloween week.

On my first card I colored this amazing Polka Dot Orchard haunted house collage of images (sets shown below) with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and sponged the background with distress oxide inks. Then placed the web stencil over the image and lifted the color off with a baby wipe. I also, used the stencil on a purple background paper and sprayed it with white mica spray for some sparkle.

For my second card I colored these frightening Polka Dot Orchard pumpkins with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and blended a spooky background with distress oxide inks on this amazing PDO spider web set. And used new slimline dies from Kat Scrappiness
to create this card.

I hope I've inspired you to try digital stamps and have fun coloring and blending.

Our theme for September is... Friendship!
It's such a wonderful reason to celebrate! I have made many friendships in this big beautiful crafty community we all share, that I will treasure forever, and I hope you have too! You crafters are the kindest and most supportive group of people I have ever been apart of. And I'm honored to have you as friends, peers, and mentors. Thank you for your friendships, inspiration, and continued support of my crafty adventures!

Let's get started!
Card #1 is perfect for many Fall occasions with it's rich colors, gold embossed sentiment, and paired with some pretty fall papers.

Complete step by step tutorial below the card...

Tutorial: I started with an 4.25x5.5" A2 cardbase in kraft cardstock (not shown) by Papertrey Ink and cut a brown plaid patterned paper the same size and adhered to card base. I try every month to use up some scraps, so I used a piece of orange gingham patterned paper and adhered to the center of our card. Using my MISTI stamping tool, I stamped this lovely fall coffee cup stamp on white cardstock, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, because it’s an alcohol friendly ink. And colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, cut it out, and adhered to the card. Next I stamped the sentiment with Versamark clear ink on AC brown cardstock, sprinkled with Ranger gold embossing powder, and heat set. Using a Big Shot Machine, I cut out the sentiment with a fishtail/banner die, but I did not adhere it just yet. I dug in my scrap pile and found a couple more coordinating paper prints and tore the bottoms off and layered them, like shown, and adhered to the back of the sentiment banner. Then I adhered the whole sentiment banner to the card. And added Tim Holtz twine and MME enamel dots to complete this fall beauty celebrating friendship. Unity Stamps: Fall To Go and Pumpkin Blossoms (sentiment)

Card #2 is a Spooktacular card with all my favorite ghoulfriends colored up for Halloween or anytime in this simple slimline design.

Tutorial: I started with a 4.25x9.5" slimline card base in blue cardstock by Papertrey Ink. It’s my favorite for card bases because it’s 100-110lb quality card stock. Then I cut a piece of spiderweb patterned paper to 4x6” and adhered to the card. Using my MISTI stamping tool I lined up a few of my favorite spooky stamp characters, inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. And colored with the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers shown. Trimmed to fit and then adhered the image to the card. Stamped sentiment with Distress Oxide Ink-Wilted Violet on white cardstock, trimmed, and adhered to black cardstock. Trimmed and adhered to the card. And finished this spooktacular card with a few black adhesive rhinestones. Unity Stamps: Mummy (and sentiment), Frank, Bride of Frank, and Count

Polka Dot Orchard Digital Sale + Gnome Patriotic Card

TGIF!!! It's almost officially summer in a couple days and Independence Day in the USA is right around the corner. So I'm celebrating early with this Patriotic slimline cutie I created with digital stamps from ==> Polka Dot Orchard!!! So many wonderful stamps to choose from and they are ALL ON SALE for 35% off right now too!!!

Slimline cards are all the rage these days. You may have seen these tall, long cards, but didn't know they had a name. And many companies, including Polka Dot Orchard are coming out with long "slimline" stamps and some have dies now too! They are long narrow cards that allow for more details on a card and they fit in a #10 business envelope, which measures
4 ⅛ ” x 9 ½." And requires just ONE first class stamp and no extra postage, if not heavy or bulky! Mine of course, would probably take two stamps, because of all that ribbon and some rhinestones! That's worth it for all this wonderfully fun creative space!

Let's get started...

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5” x 11” piece of blue 110lb cardstock, folded long ways for our card base, and trimmed down to 4 1/8" x 9 3/4." Using a fireworks stencil, distress oxide inks, and a blending brush I added several fireworks and yellow stars to the blue card base. And set aside for a moment.
Let's work on the image. I use a WPS Free Office document program to copy and paste digital images to be able to layer, move images around, and resize them. I love layering and creating scenes. And it’s so fun and easy to do with digital stamps and this free program. See pictures below to continue the tutorial…

For today's project I copied 3 girl gnomes and placed them in a pyramid to create my own slimline card. Added and resized the sentiment to fit under the gnomes and added 3 mushrooms in different sizes to create our scene. Once I had the images where I wanted them, I grouped them as one piece, saved, and renamed as a “new” document in the same file as my original stamp set, to use again for future use. I printed my image on my HP printer using X-Press It white cardstock, because it's alcohol marker friendly paper. I was inspired by Independence Day and colored the images with the Spectrum Noir alcohol marker colors shown above.

I thought the gnomie girls would be cute in gray sweatsuit outfits, like we wore at cheer camp (many years ago). Aren’t they cute? I just love them for many occasions! It’s hard to see, but I added a bit of sparkle to their coffee cups and bows with a clear glitter pen and red sparkle on their lips too. Added a touch of white accents on their cheeks and bows with a white distress maker-picket fence (white). Then highlighted some of the sentiment with a coordinating green marker to make it stand out.

I trimmed down the image and decorated the top and bottom with a border punch. Next I used a handmade cloud stencil I created from a border die in my stash, a blending brush, and distress oxide ink to create clouds and a darkening sky for nighttime. But it looked too stark. So I grabbed a speckled stencil, blending brush, and distress oxide ink to add some random green dots to resemble grass. Dug into my bag of ribbon scraps and pulled out red, white, and blue patterned ribbons, trimmed them down and adhered to the back of the image panel. Then adhered the whole piece to the card base. Added a few clear adhesive stars that I colored with a yellow marker to complete this patriotic cutie.
