Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism Insta Hop + Love One Another Card

We are back with another Instagram Hop to continue to raise awareness about anti-racism and to keep encouraging everyone to start the necessary conversations.

We are all of one humanity and should find a way to show up for equality, in a way that makes sense for YOU. Living in Silence, Inaction, and Passivity are detrimental to justice. And Injustice anywhere is Injustice EVERY WHERE!

We are NOT born to hate, it is taught or learned.
Teach love, kindness, manners, equality, diversity, inclusion, and respect. And our world would be a better place!

I am fortunate to work for a company where diversity is embraced and racism is not tolerated. But racism still exists everywhere. I feel I have taught my four kids well. And I have stood up for others where I can, but I could do better. We all need to unite against racism and stand up to end it.

Awareness starts with just one person!
Spreading awareness is a privilege and an honor to be part of this hop.
And it's heart warming to know we have SO many paper crafters participating, that we are having a 2-Day Event this month!

Todays Card: Love One Another
I thought is perfect for today’s message. I used this amazing stamp set and dies from Unity Stamp Company, because it conveyed unity around the world. I love all the hands standing together, uniting together for love, and friendships.
I also used the national colors of Ukraine, to stand in solidarity for the courageous people of Ukraine, that my heart goes out to. May this horror end soon!

Tutorial: I started with 110lb white 8.5x11" cardstock, cut in half, and folded for an A2 card base. Cut blue dot pattern paper 1/4" smaller than card base and adhered to card base. Trimmed yellow pattern paper scrap approx 2x4" and adhered to card. Using my MISTI stamping tool, I inked up this hand stamp, stamped on white cardstock, and die cut with a Big Shot die cutting machine. Then die cut a piece of black cardstock for the frame. (don't adhere yet)
Using the top of my MISTI tool I smooshed blueprint and fossilized amber oxide ink pads onto the top, splattered with water, mixed a little with a Q-tip, and smooshed the stamped image panel into the ink.
Because of the grid on the top of the MISTI it created this cool background pattern. I heat set the image and adhered to a piece of black cardstock and adhered to the card. And colored in the hearts with a red marker to complete this card.

Supplies: Unity Stamp Co-Love One Another and Scallops & Rectangles (nesting dies); MISTI stamping tool I used for stamping and ink smooshing; Versafine Clair-Pinecone ink; Distress Oxide Inks-Blueprint Sketch and Fossilized Amber; BoBunny blue Double Dot pattern paper; Papertrey Ink White and Black cardstock; Red-Spectrum Noir marker; Scor-Tape (tear tape) at Scapbookpal.

I lived in the West for 35yrs, where diversity was embraced. Then 4yrs ago we moved to the South and racism still exists. I have stood up, but I could do better. We all need to unite against racism and stop it.

Spreading awareness is a privilege and an honor to be part of this hop.

Todays Card: Stand Tall & Be Fabulous
I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company, because it was perfect for this cause. We’re all beautiful creatures and should stand tall against racism together!

I kept this project pretty simple. I start all my card bases with 110lb cardstock from Papertrey Ink. I adhered a piece of orange dot patterned paper from BoBunny. Using my Misti stamping tool I stamped the flamingos in 3 different inks and water colored the bodies with them to. Then colored the feathers and flowers with alcohol makers. Added a little sparkle and bling with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush and clear rhinestones. added a piece of brown cardstock to matte the flamingo image. I stamped and label punched the sentiment and tied some twine to complete this beauty.

Polka Dot Orchard Challenge of Thanks-Hostess Tag

Happy Thanksgiving week! As we're all running around grocery shopping, baking, and cooking to get ready for the big day, allow yourself a moment to stop and give thanks for your blessings, and maybe carve out some crafting time to relax and recharge. It won't take long to create a card or a tag for those family or friends hosting your special holiday meals that will be greatly received. And enter your project in our Polka Dot Orchard "Thanks" Instagram Challenge! Details below...

Today I am sharing this darling hostess tag for our "Tag It Tuesday" series and to remind you of the Polka Dot Orchard Instagram Challenge that runs thru November 28, 2019. The theme of this challenge is 13 Days Of Thanks. What are you thankful for? I'm thankful for my family, wonderful friends near and far, good health, and my craft supplies, which some were acquired recently from late sister.

Tutorial below...

I started this tag by layering a few digital images and printed on white X-Press It cardstock. And colored the image with watercolor pencils and a light touch with a water brush. Using a die cutting machine and tag dies to cut it out and cut out a larger tag in a plaid pattern paper and adhered the two together. Traced over the sentiment with black sparkle pen to brighten it up. And added some clear sparkle pen on the leaves and baster too. Punched a whole in the top and added ribbon to complete this turkey tag and tied to a nice bottle of wine ready for our hostess.
