Hi everybody! I hope warmer weather has found you. As it feels like Summer here in the South, while I'm still on my holiday card journey to share our monthly Sketch Challenges for the
Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group
or {BYSHC} for short!

So don't put away those holiday stamps...use them ALL year long and get a jump start on your 2021 holiday cards! Join the journey!

We are a group of card makers that will be sharing Christmas,
Winter Holidays, or Winter-y cards every month, ALL year long!
It's super easy, with a new card Sketch Challenge each month
to help us build our stash of holiday cards,
that you can play along and enter to win prizes too!

Use it like it is, or as an inspirational guide, or get creative and turn it around, or upside down, and make something wonderful!

My first card I used these amazing papers from the ‘My Favorite Christmas’ kit by @echoparkpaper to create this wonderful holiday card with NO stamping & no die cutting. A kit makes it easy to mass produce with coordinating pieces. Love it!

My second card I turned the sketch sideways and used just one stamp from @unitystampco from a holiday KOM, but you could totally use a text box from a holiday kit, or some ephemera as a focal point.
The papers I used are from @authentiquepaper -anchored; MME-all things chalk; and @teresacollinsstudio -everyday moments; and one scrap piece (the 24 banner in the corner) from @graphic45.
Along with distress oxide inks shown above to create an "ink smooshing" background; Versafine Clair-Noctorine black ink; MISTI stamping tool; Gina Marie Design Products-Stitched Rectangle dies; and a few MME adhesive enamel dots to create this amazing holiday card.

Our theme for March is a... Sketch!
That's right...we're all creating with the same sketch to show you several different possibilities. Because sometimes it gives you a good starting point, especially when you're stumped for a design. Fun right!?!

I was inspired by the beauty and colors of Spring! I don't know about you, but it's been too cold in the South and this girl is ready for some sunshine, blooming flowers, and warm days!

Tutorials:
Now let's talk about the images. The wonderful thing about these digital stamps is that you can resize them. So, if you make A2 cards, 6x6" square, 5x7", or Slimline, bigger, smaller, etc...you can.
I use a FREE WPS Office document program to copy and paste digital images to be able to layer, move images around, group together, and resize them. And printed on white X-Press It cardstock, because it's alcohol friendly.

All of these digital stamps are colored with alcohol markers; a little distress ink around the edges of two of them; all cut out with a Big Shot machine and a stitched rectangle die cut; adhered to pretty patterned papers; the whole image is adhered to 4x6 American Crafts matte cardstock pack colors; then panels are adhred to 110lb cardstock card bases; and finished with adhesive gems, dots, or ribbon.

Complete tutorial details below each card...

Tutorial: I used Angie Blom "Better in Boots" digital stamp set to create this A2 card. Colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers; used a Big Shot machine to cut out image with a stitched rectangle die; adhered to a black piece of cardstock; cut two pink Authentique pattern papers and adhered to card base, which is white 110lb Papertrey Ink cardstock; I didn't measure correctly when I cut the pretty papers and had a gap in the middle, so I filled it with a strip of hot pink lace ribbon and tied a bow; then adhered image to card; added adhesive blue glitter dots to complete.

Tutorial: I used Polka Dot Orchard ``Remember Me" digital stamp set (or Unity Stamps has in red rubber set too) to create this 5.5x5.5" squared card. Colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers; used Distress Ink-Vintage Photo around the edges of the lady and the sentiment using a Picket Fence Blending Brush; used a Big Shot machine to cut out image with a stitched rectangle die; adhered to a beige piece of cardstock; adhered a piece of My Minds Eye patterned paper to a 110lb turquoise cardstock by Papertrey Ink; adhered image to card base. Cut out sentiment, adhered to beige cardstock, and adhered to card. Added dark adhesive G45 gems to finish this beauty.

Tutorial: I used Angie Blom "Road Trip, Girl" digital stamp set to create this A2 card. Colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers; used a Big Shot machine to cut out image with a stitched rectangle die; adhered to a black piece of cardstock; cut two My Minds Eye travel pattern papers and adhered to 110lb white card base; then adhered image panel onto card at an angle; adhered blue glitter dots to the corners and a white glitter dot to the red location arrow on the left of the suitcase to complete.

Tutorial: I used Polka Dot Orchard "Rebuild Yourself" digital stamp set to create this A2 card (4.25x5.5"). Colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers; used Distress Inks-Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint for the top and bottom around image, and on the sentiment using a Picket Fence Blending Brush; used a Big Shot machine to cut out image with a stitched rectangle die; adhered image to a red piece of cardstock; adhered the whole image to a piece of striped patterned and adhered to a MME dark brown woodgrain patterned paper; then adhered whole image piece to 110lb card base by Papertrey Ink. Cut out sentiment, adhered to beige cardstock, and adhered to card. Added a piece of natural twine to the top of the sentiment and adhered with Tombow Multi liquid glue (the green one).

Card #1 is 'Feel the Freedom' stamp kit in Patriotic colors in honor of our upcoming US Independence Day. I wanted to create a card that added color without any actual coloring. As many people struggle with coloring. For this card I used ink splatters and two stencils to achieve this festive fireworks celebration. A wonderful stamp for many occasions and I can't wait to color it up too! So fun!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5” x 11” red 110lb cardstock, folded in half, for the card base. I’ve been making a lot of “not quite” square cards lately, but larger than the usual A2. So I leave them folded until I have everything else adhered in place, then I trim it down. So, this base will be 5.5” wide. Next I chose two 6x6 pattern papers from the same pad, that I thought resembled a vintage flag, cut them on the diagonal, and trimmed off ¼” from the inside angles to fit, and adhered to the card base. Cut a piece of blue ric rac ribbon and adhered on an angle across the card using liquid glue. Click or hover on pictures below for more directions...

Card #2 is 'Scattered Pieces' stamp kit in bright and cheerful colors using an ''ink smooshing technique" and some glitter pens. That's it! Another great technique using colored inks, but no actual coloring. And I really love the variety of feather stamps and beautiful sentiments that speak to your soul. This one is so uplifting and encouraging to send to friends/family. It's one of my 'new' favorites!

Tutorial: I started with 8.5” x 11” white 110lb cardstock, folded in half, and cut in half, so the top folds down and opens from the bottom, but still an A2 size card base. And set aside for a bit. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I lined up the feather and sentiment on a piece of white watercolor cardstock. And inked them up with Gina K amalgam black ink, because remember it’s a friendly ink with any coloring medium. Then took the stamp out of the MISTI and put it on an acrylic block, inked it up again, and stamped the feather two more times. Then I used a die cutting machine and a stitched rectangle die to cut out the image. Click or hover on the pictures below for more directions...

Card #3 is 'Beauty Beyond Words' and it is a beauty. I can't believe I've never inked it up until now. It just screams "color me," but would be pretty black/white or on kraft too! I'll have to try that next while I still have it out on my craft table. Just wonderful for many occasions and all kinds of coloring mediums too!

Tutorial: I started with 8.5” x 11” light gray 110lb cardstock I had leftover that was cut as an A2 size card base. I love notebook paper, so I cut this light blue piece the same size as the card base, inked the edges with distress oxide ink in faded jeans and blended a bit more around the edges with a blending brush and adhered to the card base. And set aside for a bit. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I lined up the jar and sentiment on a piece of white alcohol marker friendly cardstock. And inked them up with Gina K amalgam black ink again, because it won’t bleed when you color with alcohol markers. Click or hover on the pictures below for more directions...

Card #4 is last, but not least using this fabulous 'Migration of Beauty' border backgrounds stamp two different ways. Along with 'All Smiles' itty bitty stamp inside with the other sentiment from the 'Beauty Beyond Words' set to create this amazing Gate Fold card. Click "here" for more folded card ideas. And when you untie the bow, slip off the belly band, the card opens like a gate, and the inside is revealed...

Hi everybody! This week I'm designing over on the Craft Fantastic Blog sharing a few tips on how to use Craft Fantastic products to create special holiday cards in a flash. Really! There are hundreds of images to choose from, so the possibilities are endless for cards, layouts, tags, planners, jewelry gifts and more.

To make the process faster I started with these gorgeous *NEW* Luxe-Line cards/envelopes in off-white (available in white and other kits) as the base of these holiday cards. And let me tell you, these blank cards are beautiful and a nice sturdy cardstock. You will love them. Special Holiday Tags + Epiphany Tools

Happy December everybody! Only 24 days until Christmas. Can you believe it? Where did the year go? Yikes! So much to do...gotta get busy. And one of my holiday traditions is to make lots of special holiday tags to have ready for present wrapping in the coming weeks. And this year I used Epiphany Crafts Tools to make them super special, one of a kind, fast and easy, even the kids can help too! And NO stamping, but you could. Maybe a little to/from stamped on the back or on frosty's lower half.

More Quick Valentines Cards

You still have time to make quick and easy Valentines cards for your loved ones. I made these for my four kids with one paper kit that included coordinating paper and stickers, in addition to a heart stamp set.

The first card is for my daughter and I wanted it pink, glittery, and very girly with lots of sparkly bling. Her card is layered paper, stickers, glitter ribbon, adhesive heart gems, and has No stamping.

And for my three son's I wanted their cards masculine, simple, red, and full of hearts. These are quick and easy cards for not only Valentines day, but also birthdays, anniversaries, and any day you want to show your loved ones you care. Happy Valentines Day! ~Kim

Card 1: cut four squares 3x3" and flip two over. Card 2: cut first panel 3x6" and cut second panel 2 7/8x6" to expose some red cardstock. See template below.

Hi everybody! I'm up on the CardMaker Blog today sharing tips on how to make nice, easy, cards, in a flash. I created a card template (below) and I'm happy to share with you all. I've done all the math and measuring for you and this template makes it so fast and easy to cut all your pieces. All you have to do is cut and paste. These two cards were created from examples 1 and 2. Go check out all six cards I made in less than 10 minutes and all the materials I used up on the CardMaker Blog. Once you master these six examples you can now make 24+ cards from one 6x6 paper pad in less than an hour. Really! And I'm happy to say this is another project I created with NO stamping! So, get out your pretty paper pads you've been hoarding and get started making cards. ~Kim

Quick Valentines Day Cards

Do you make cards for Valentines Day? Sometimes I do, time permitting, and this year I had time to play with these gorgeous papers, stamps, and stickers. So, whether you celebrate Valentines Day or not here are a few ideas for some quick cards to make and give your loved ones on the 14th or anytime of year.

It doesn't have to take a lot of supplies to make cards. I recommend using a kit or a collection because your paper, stickers, and sentiments all coordinate. I have four kids, so I wanted to make each of them a card. I started with kraft cardstock as my card base on all of them, layered pattern paper and added these wonderful stickers or stamped images.

Happy Halloween! What are you doing tonight? Are you going out or staying in? My kids are dressing up and I'm taking them out trick or treating. I'll probably put on my witches hat and tag along. Then we'll watch some semi-scary movies, eat popcorn, and probably some candy too.

In honor of my mother-in-law I thought I'd share her birthday card with you. Yes, her birthday is today, on Halloween. Isn't that cool? I just love making her a card every year, because she loves everything Halloween. And I do too! So, I can really be creative and have fun with her cards...

Pink & Black Birthday Card

Happy Birthday, Mom! Yes, my parents are two days apart, just like my lil' sister and me. I know, I told you, Fall is crazy busy filled with birthdays. And as many of you know, I rarely get to make pink cards, as my daughter loves purple, and I have three sons and a hubby at home. So, when I came across this pattern paper I just knew I had to make another "quilt" card in pink and black and frilly for my mom. I just love pink and black together. Don't you? It's so classic and gorgeous for any occasion...

Paper Girls Guest Designer-Challenge 2

I am so excited and honored to be the guest designer this month for:
The Paper Girls Challenge #88 Sept 21 - Sweater Weather

Who’s ready for sweater weather? I love this time of year when the leaves are changing, the air is getting cooler, pumpkin is everywhere, and you start seeing the patterns of the season. And we have a lot of Fall birthdays in my family, so you will see a lot of birthday cards in the coming months. This week I was inspired by the plaid sweaters you see this time of year and created this card with my sister, Tami, with NO stamping. None!
I know, right? We were stunned too! LOL
We started with a red card base and a square punch (one inch or 1.5").
And punched out our squares from three different pattern papers from the same coordinating 6x6 pad: green, brown, and plaid. Then ran them through the Xyron sticker maker, cut the squares in half, and adhered them to another square. Layered the squares in a pinwheel quilt pattern to a larger red square and adhered to a larger brown square to create a frame or a double matte. Add some colored adhesive pearls for some shine, add buttons, bakers twine, and a tag sentiment. And you have a great masculine card or a neutral card for Fall, Christmas, or any occasion.
Plaid isn't just for the holidays!

Supplies: AC red blank cards; Authentique: Believe Collection 6x6 pad;
Square Punch; Adhesive pearls; Doodlebug buttons; AC bakers twine;
Pebbles banner sentiments; Glue dots; and a Xyron 1.5 sticker maker

All Occasion Adventure Card

Summer is here and it’s time for Stuart and Scooter to go on an adventure. They remind us to never stop playing, smiling, and dreaming. And this
Eat Cake Graphics stamp is versatile for so many occasions. I love this postage stamp embossed paper and how it pops against the red card base. I think it is from a Teresa Collins travel pad, I'll try and find it and let you know. Sorry, I think I'll remember and I don't. I need to be better about writing things down when I'm creating. I love the 6x6 pads for card making, their just the right size and I seem to collect a lot of them. Anyways, this paper is perfect for documenting all their travels.

Can you see the sheen? I stamped the image of Stuart and Scooter with Versafine onyx black ink and colored it with Copic markers, Ranger Tim Holtz mini brown ink and a SU blender pen, and a little bling here and there with spica glitter pens to make it sparkle, of course. Can you see the bling on the goggles, the arrow, and the wheels? I accented the die cut sentiment (from the same pad) and the stamp image with BoBunny blue dot pattern paper for background matting, punched them out, and popped them up with 3D foam adhesive dots. Attached a border strip that resembled airmail postage. And added some Authentique sticker words, star adhesive gems, and red/white bakers twine to make it complete. Father's Day Card 2: Challenge #251

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there! I made two different versions of this nautical card for my Dad and my husband who both love boats and the water. I kept it simple and flat for mailing and just used scraps for the banners.

Sophie Willoughby has a card for her Mom for Mother’s Day. When I saw this adorable stamp from Eat Cake Graphics Stamps it had a letter addressed to Santa. Which would be cute for Christmas or a Birthday card too! But I wanted to mask it and make it a card for Mother’s Day...
