Our theme for December is: Furry Friends
While everyone's busy with holiday or winter cards, I took a break and went the opposite. I don't have many "pet" type stamps, but I do have other "animal" stamps that could be pets. As I'm completing my "New Years Resolution" to use "new to me" not used Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
Like using pretty papers, playing with watercolor pencils, creating my
own backgrounds, and bling!

Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Lil Wee Bunny
My daughter and son-in-law have the funniest bunny and dog (as pictured here). They crack me up! And I have a few friends who have bunnies as pets too. I dug in my stamp collection and found this stamp set and bunnies are furry, and I combined pretty papers and minimal coloring, and a touch of bling. This card would be sweet for a Birthday, Valentines, Anniversary, or any lovey dovey occasion.

Supplies I used: Unity Stamp Co Products: Lil Wee Bunny stamp set (and sentiment) and Unity Paper Pad-Enveloped in Love; Quick Quotes Powder Puff chalk ink-Kokomo (bunny and sentiment); watercolor Colored Pencils (Prisma or crayola work too) with a little water and a q-tip for blendingg; Marvy Uchida large tag punch; Papertrey Ink cardstock-white, black, and pink; Ranger Ink Stickles (glitter glue)-Clear Rock Candy, Fruit Punch, and Gold; KS adhesive pink enamel dots; and Scor-Tape/Scor-Pal double sided tear tape from ScrapbookPal

Card #1: Pretty As A Peacock
I hadn't used this stamp set either and it's so pretty for any occasion, but it made me laugh remembering my little kids years ago shouting "come back here pea hocks" at the zoo, because they couldn't say it correctly (lol).
You may recognize this background from last months cards and I had one piece leftover and thought the peacock feathers would look great on this background. Did a little coloring on the feathers with colored pencils and added some sparkle.

Hi everybody! Welcome back to Day 2, of my Growing in Unity week, that will be filled with fun and inspiring Unity projects using some of my favorite things I'm finding as I'm packing up my craft room, to move into my new house next month. But first, thank you so much for commenting. I am truly humbled by your kind words and support of my crafty adventures over the years. Let the crafty adventures continue...
Today's project is inspired by a southern tradition of slow sipping on your porch, which is something I can embrace (lol). So I made my card look like an Arnold Palmer southern drink, which is half tea and half lemonade. And if you know me, I like a splash of vodka in mine. (lol). What's your favorite beverage?

I used the "Happiness is Homemade" stamp set by the amazing Graciellie Design for Unity to create this fun card.
It's so great for many occasions.
Along with some of my favorite things I found while packing up my craft room like: Prismacolor pencils (the waxy kind) with Gamsol blending solution, Goosebumps clear texture spray, ink blending, and pattern paper scraps. Remember those?

Which could be anything! So what inspires me? SO many thing, but I narrowed it down to these:

It's a new month and I'm continuing with my
"New Years Resolution" to use only "new to me" Unity stamps every month this year, along with some of my favorite things.
So what inspires me?
I am inspired every month by all the fabulous ladies
in this hop, so be sure to follow them too!
I love the whole rainbow of colors, techniques, and
things found in nature.
Here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Beautiful Butterflies
I had this beautiful butterfly set on my desk from last months theme, but I didn't get around to using it. So I thought it would be fun to show you three different techniques using the same set.
The first technique I used is a very simple Copic 101 coloring technique I learned a few years ago from Jen Shurkus on how to color with just 2-3 alcohol markers and how to blend and shade with just a couple markers. As it's easy to get overwhelmed with all the many markers out there, color families, and blending techniques. She really keeps it simple and I like simple too.
Then I die cut a border around the image and ink blended around the edges to soften around the image, added a touch of clear sparkle to a few butterflies, and some embellishments to complete. Such a versatile set that's wonderful for so many occasions.

SUPPLIES: Unity- Endlessly Beautiful Stamp Set and Unity-Rectangles & Scallops Nesting Dies; Big Shot die cutting machine; MISTI stamping tool; Versafine Clair-Nocturne black ink; Ranger Distress Oxide Inks: Faded Jeans; Picket Fence Blender Brush or Scrapbook.com brushes; Copic and Spectrum alcohol markers and SN Clear Sparkle Brush; Spectrum Noir Cardstock; American Crafts bakers twine; Adhesive Glitter Enamel Dots; Papertrey Ink white 110lb cardstock base; Scor-Pal - Scor-Tape (double sided tear tape) at Scrapbookpal.

Card #2: Pink Butterfly
The second technique I used is mostly ink blending around the edges and over some of the butterflies. And I highlighted just one of the butterflies with a couple pink pencils using Prismacolor Pencils and blending it with a clear sparkle brush for some extra bling.
Then added a couple stitched edges, a sentiment, and an adhesive glitter enamel embellishment to complete.

Card #3: Hello Pretty Butterflies
And the third card I used an ink smooshing technique. It's one of my favorite ways to play with ink, as every smoosh is different, and every card is unique with no extra coloring. Then I heat set it to dry or you can leave it over night. And then I fussy cut this bunch of butterflies out.
I dug in my bin of scraps and found this hot pink piece of cardstock that was screaming out for some texture. And I remembered I had a cloud embossing folder. Added the sentiment with distress oxide ink (because it's thick), clear embossing powder, and heat set. Which heat embossing is another technique I love to use. I found a couple more scrap strips and adhered those to the pink panel.
Adhered the bunch of butterflies to the panel, added an adhesive glitter enamel embellishment and added some clear glitter sparkle to a few butterflies for some bling to complete.

Our theme for May is...

Amazing, right? So many things have wings and so many ideas went through my head! My biggest challenge was deciding "what" to use and "how" to use it. As I continue with my "New Years Resolution" to use my Unity stamps or products I haven't ever used before.
And combined that with a few of my favorite things, like heat embossing, coloring, and ink smooshing.
So here's what I came up with...

Card #1: Hello
I love flowers and butterflies and combined them to make some Mother's Day cards, which you still have time today do too! Or these are all great stamps to use all year long for many other occasions.

I have loved this BIG flower background for a while and finally got to use it. Yay! It is truly beautiful with or without anything else on it, but in keeping with our theme, I added a few butterflies. Which are near and dear to my heart, as they represent resurrection, a spirit animal, or means an angel is near.

As some of you know, I lost my younger sister 4yrs ago to breast cancer and when I see a butterfly it is comforting to believe she or another angel maybe nearby. I know the holidays can be hard for those of you who have lost a loved one and please know my heart goes out to you and you are in my thoughts as I extend a virtual hug from across the miles. {{hugs}}

Card #2: Happy Mother's Day
My next card I knew I wanted to use this sweet little "itty bitty" stamp set that believe it or not, I've never used either! I know... right!?! It's so cute!
It comes complete with these darling daisies and this sentiment. I knew I needed to "add" something with wings though and had leftover butterflies, so added one of those.

But I felt it needed a bit more... then I remembered I got the "Happy World" stamp set that donates $5 to Ukraine and that set had a bee stamp in there and that was perfect for this card.

This was pretty fast and easy with some leftover paper scraps (National colors of Ukraine) and backed with this amazing pink plaid patterned paper that looks like a picnic blanket.
I kept both cards pretty flat mailing. What do you all think?

Our theme for December is... My Favorite Things!
Well, this could mean many different things to all of us. So, I'm sharing some of my favorite Unity stamps & favorite techniques. Like I LOVE heat embossing, celebrating, coloring, ink smooshing, and the many fabulous Angiegirls!

Card #1: I am using my favorite Ranger gold embossing power, clear embossing powder, and Versamark clear ink; Unity Stamp Sets: New Year-Midnight Resolutions (wit & wisdom), Numbers, ETC, Tiny Grained Banners, and Go Forward; MISTI stamping tool; Graphic 45 patterned paper; Brutus Monroe Lunchbag kraft cardstock; AC gold glitter cardstock; Gina Marie stitched dies; a few adhesive metallic stars; and a gold ribbon finishes up this sparkling card to ring in the New Year!
Cheers to a better 2021!

Here is a close up of all that sparkle...and I added just a touch of black to the "happy new year" to make it stand out more.

At the end of this post you will find Supply links for the products I used to make all of these cards.

Card #2: Is a monochromatic card using one of my favorite Angiegirls from Unity Stamps set "Warm & Cozy Season," using my MISTI stamping tool, Memento black tuxedo ink, and colored with my favorite Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Papertrey Ink cardstock, and BoBunny Double Dot patterned paper; and a circle die cut set from Gina Marie Designs. With a heat embossed sentiment (from the same kit) using Distress Oxide Ink in Cracked Pistachio and Versamark clear ink to create this cozy card.

And if you aren't a fan of faceless girls, that's ok. Unity makes face stamps to use along with these pretty girls too!

Here is a close up of this pretty girl...

Card #3: Is a Unity Stamp Angiegirl favorite of mine called "December Girl" and I made this pretty girl last year for a fellow designer friend "Bobbie Sue's" birthday, but I never got a picture of it. And she surprised me with this sweet picture yesterday, so I decided to share it with you all...finally! Sweet, right? Thank you so much Bobbie Sue!!!

The background is created with one of my favorite techniques called
"ink smooshing" using distress inks, spray water, a MISTI stamping tool, and Memento black tuxedo ink. The girl and flowers are lightly colored with Prismacolor watercolor pencils. And using a mix of my favorite Papertrey Ink cardstock; patterned papers from BoBunny Double Dot and Lawn Fawn Plaid; a favorite stitched die cut from Gina Marie Designs; and a sentiment stamp from a Unity grab bag perfectly completes this beautiful girl!

Card #4: Uses another favorite Angiegirl from the Unity Stamp set " Dream of Being {so loved}" with a sentiment from "Comfort to Go." And I'm SO excited to share with you all that this card is published in the Winter 2020 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine available now worldwide in digital or print!!!

This girl is stamped using my MISTI stamping tool, Gina K Designs-Amalgam black ink, and colored with Spectrum Noir markers; layered with my favorite Papertrey Ink solid cardstocks, pretty blue pattern paper from BoBunny Vintage Dot, and plaid pattern paper from Lawn Fawn; a favorite banner die cut from Gina Marie Designs; and finished with several Unity sequins for some added sparkle!

I hope I've inspired you to play with your stamps, mix them up, try heat embossing, color, or ink smooshing and see where it takes you! The possibilities are endless!

Our theme for October is... Birthday!
There are lots of Fall birthdays in my family! It's my favorite time of year. But it's also one of the saddest times of the year too!
As some of you know, my little sister, passed away this time 3yrs ago, from breast cancer, just before her 47th birthday.
But we are honoring her life and legacy with family and friends this weekend in Denver. It's bittersweet.

So I'd like to take a moment and remind all you special ladies to get a mammogram, sooner than later.
Early detection could save a life! Spread the word!

Let's get started & enjoy "World Card Making Day" too!

Card #1 is a fun stylish Unity stamp set called "Sabrina" that I colored with alcohol markers in monochromatic greens, distress oxide ink splatters, and paired with an Unity watercolored patterned paper with some sparkles too.

Here is a close up of the coloring and all her sparkles.

Card #2 is a beautiful floral Unity stamp set "Hope is a beautiful thing" with a gorgeous butterfly heat embossed in gold and colored with just a few prismacolor pencils. And the sentiment is "Say it with love" from Unity, embossed in white and paired with a pretty Unity Autumn paper.

Here is a close up of the coloring and all that pretty gold embossing.

Card #3 is one of my Unity favorites called Pumpkin Patch" border stamp, also gold embossed, but on kraft cardstock, with a touch of distress ink blending, and paired with a fall patterned paper.

I hope I've inspired you to play with your stamps, make cards, and see where it takes you! The possibilities are endless!

Polka Dot Orchard + Birthday Cupcake Card

Hi everybody! TGIF! I'm celebrating Summer with these fun cupcakes I created using digital stamps from ==> Polka Dot Orchard!!! They have many wonderful stamps to choose from and they're ALL ON SALE for 35% off for a limited time!!!

For today's project I knew I wanted to use these fantastic cupcakes, because we all like variety. Right?!? Of course we do! So I combined these three digital stamp sets: Love And A Fabulous Cupcake, Younger Than Tomorrow, and Happy Star (cupcake and sentiment)! And they are yummy enough to eat!

Let's get started...

Tutorial: I started with an piece of blue 12x12 cardstock, cut in half, and folded for a 6x6" card base. And cut a piece of gingham patterned paper 4x 5.5," then used a border punch down the left side, and adhered to the card base.

Let's work on the image. The beauty of these digital stamps is you can resize them. So, if you make A2 cards or larger, you can. I use a FREE WPS Office document program to copy and paste digital images to be able to layer, move images around, and resize them. I love layering and creating scenes. And it’s so fun and easy to do with digital stamps and this free program. See pictures below to continue the tutorial…

Next I copied and pasted the 3 different cupcakes from each set, lined them up, resized them, and copied and pasted the sentiment all on the same 8.5x11" sheet. Once I had the images where I wanted them, I grouped them as one piece, saved, and renamed as a “new” document in the same file as my original stamp set, to use again for future use.

Then I printed my image on my HP inkjet printer using the thin brand of HL white cardstock, because I'm coloring with colored pencils and gamsol for blending today.

Once I finished coloring and blending, I took out my die cutting machine and cut out the cupcake image with a stitched rectangle die. And trimmed out the sentiment and cut the right end into a banner with scissors. Using distress inks, a speckled stencil, and a blending brush, I added some "birthday confetti" to the sentiment and above the cupcakes.

Next I adhered a piece of blue ric rac ribbon down the left side of the card with liquid glue. Then adhered the sentiment and the cupcake image to the card. And added a few adhesive rhinestones to the center cupcake to finish this yummy-licious card!

Hi everybody! Thanks for joining us for the Growing in Unity Blog Hop! If you followed my GIU week back in April 20-25, 2020, then you know I LOVE many Unity flower stamps. And if you didn't, you can catch up and see my whole week: (click here for details).

For today's project I chose to carry on that floral theme with a lovely sunflower stamp set and a few of my favorite things to share with you. I'm still figuring out what I like to color with and played around and combined a few products for this look.
Sit back, relax, grab your favorite beverage, and hop along with us today for some amazing inspiration from these talented ladies! I promise...this Hop is short and sweet and SO worth it!

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of 110lb white cardstock, folded in half, as my card base (not shown). Cut a piece of red/white checkered patterned paper 6x5 ¾” and adhered to the card base.Trimmed down the top of the white card base to 6.” I took out a bin of scraps and used them on this card too. I took a brown scrap piece of cardstock and trimmed it down to 2x5 ¾” and adhered to the card. Took a scrap piece of yellow polka dot patterned paper and die cut a wavy scalloped edge using a die cutting machine, trimmed to fit, and adhered to the brown cardstock. Using a MISTI stamping tool, I stamped the sunflower five times, in Versafine Sepia brown ink, on white cardstock to resemble a pretty field of blooms. And stamped the sentiment from the same stamp kit, using the same ink too! Click the pictures below or hover over for more directions...
