Todays Card: Merry Christmas Wreath
I've wanted to stamp and color this amazing wreath for a while now and this months sketch was the perfect time to use it. I kept the colors pretty traditional, with just a few pattern papers, and simple embellishments.

Todays project: Making Spirits Bright
If you know me, then you know I love fancy cocktails and have been excited to use this amazing stamp for a while now. And today is the day!

I keep a file for ALL my BYS Holiday Cardmakers monthly challenge sketches and chose Sketch #19 from our February challenge as my first card. Because it's an amazing design that inspired me to use two different pieces of scrap pattern papers, this big beautiful cocktail stamp, and changed up the sketch just a bit to make it all fit.

Our theme for March is a Color Throw Down:
Kraft, Black, & White
Fun, right? I love kraft and I don't use it as much as I should. So this was challenging for me to ONLY use kraft, black, and white for everything, as I love ALL the colors!
So here's what I came up with..

Let's Get Started...

Card #1: Motorcycle Birthday Card
I used Unity stamps, the new Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies), a little heat embossing, and kept it simple and masculine.

Card #2: A Beautiful Feather

I am trying to use Unity stamps I've never used before... that's one of my goals this year, is to use "new to me" or never used stamps! And this beautiful feather, believe it or not, I hadn't used until now. But I just love it for so many occasions.
What are your crafting goals this year?

Card #3: Butterflies

I LOVE butterflies and received this beautiful stamp in a grab bag, but didn't know the name. And Unity graciously told me which set it belonged too and I love the rest of that set too! So pretty for birthday cards or any occasion.

Kat Scrappiness Sale + All Occasion Love Cards

Todays project I'm sharing a wonderful "lovey dovey" all occasion mini shaker card using these amazing shaker bits from
Kat Scrappiness (KS).
They are a one stop shop for so many crafty products.
Check them out!

I started with putting my patterned papers together to see what I liked together. I liked the NEW KS Spectrum of Love Slimline paper pack, it's full of wonderful rainbow colors and hearts.

I wanted a neutral card, so I chose the gray/white hearts as the background for this mini shaker card and trimmed it to the size of the KS Slimline Diamond Wire die. Using a 5x7" Tonic clear Shaker envelope, I placed the gray/white hearts panel in the center, folded it over (as it's bigger than the paper panel), and adhered three sides of the clear shaker envelope, leaving one side open to add the KS Heart Sprinkles (shaker bits) and added a few extra die cut red hearts leftover from another KS card inside too and then sealed it up.

I liked the EP black pattern as my outside frame. I cut it out with the KS Mini Slimline Diamond Wire & Wood Grain Frame Die using a Big Shot die cutting machine, and adhered that panel to the top of the clear shaker envelope. Set a side for a moment...

While I created a card base from black 110lb cardstock, trimmed the "lips" EP pattern paper to fit across the card, leaving a bit of black cardstock border at the top and bottom, and adhered to the card base. And then firmly attached the shaker panel to the card.

Next using my MISTI stamping tool, I lined up two sentiments side by side from the KS Friendship Greetings stamp set, inked them up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on black cardstock, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled over red embossing power, tapped it off, and heat set.

I cut a strip of EP "lips" patterned paper. Trimmed down the sentiment on black cardstock, cut banners to each end and adhered to the "lips" patterned paper strip and adhered to the center of the card.

Then I added a leftover red heart die cut to the left side of the sentiment. Added some red enamel dots, and colored in a few red hearts along the frame with a red alcohol marker to complete this lovely card. So great for any lovey dovey occasion (Birthdays, Anniversary, Valentines, etc...) any time of year!

Happy New Year!!!
Hi everybody TGIF! I hope you are safe and warm from all the crazy weather lately. We had a warm December with 74* on Christmas day, tornado warnings a few days later, but we are fine, then some snow here a couple days in the Tennessee Valley too! It was very pretty and reminded me of back home in Colorado, but I don't miss driving in it and it's SO cold. And today it was 18* this morning with a high of 36.* It was warmer in CO than AL today! Really!
So I'm enjoying my day off inside crafting.

Our sketch for this month is so fun with your scraps, pattern papers, holiday stamps, dies, stickers, ribbon, or where ever your imagination takes you!

With the holidays over I've been wanting to get crafty again, so I carved out some time recently and made some cards this month. I've got some fun paper collection kits from Echo Park Paper (one of my favorite companies) that have great images, patterns, stickers, and ephemera that all coordinate wonderfully. They make it easy for you to make several cards, with NO stamping, and still looks great!

Card #1: Season's Greetings (I love snowman)
My next card used another fun kit from Ep-Christmas Magic collection kit to use various red and green patterns for a traditional holiday card. This card is about 5x7 and I flipped the sketch, vertical snowman, turned the banner horizontal and hand cut it, and added just a few glittery adhesive gems to complete this cute card.

Card #2: Channel the Flannel (fun, right?)
I am mad for anything plaid and moose, so I had to have this EP-Little Lumberjack collection kit and make "wintery" cards with it. This card has, I kid you not, 3 maybe 4 different plaid papers on it (lol). I told you I really LOVE plaid!
I turned the sketch a smidge, so I could use the moose vertical, hand cut banner, and made a square card, with minimal embellishments. But you could easily make an A2 or 5x7 card from this sketch too!

Card #3: Merry Christmas
My next card used pieces from the kit EP-Little Lumberjack collection kit again and the sentiment is from the EP-Christmas Magic collection kit that has an amazing sticker sheet. This card is an A2 and I followed the sketch pretty closely to the original design and added the sticker sentiment, a few star stickers, and some adhesive rhinestones to complete it.

All my card bases are made with 110lb white cardstock from Papertrey Ink, because it's a thick, sturdy, qualilty cardstock.

These kits are amazing, as you can make 10-12 or more cards from one kit and they are flat for mailing too!

Happy Holidays Slimline Card + Kat Scrappiness

It's December ya'll with record breaking 70* happening today in the south,
which I'm not complaining, but the calendar says
Christmas is right around the corner.
Are you making Holiday cards or ready for mailing?
Well, I've got some cards made, but not ready to mail just yet!
That's ok! We still have time to make some cards!
Or send New Years cards! Your friends and family are just thrilled to get a handmade card and to hear from you any time of year!
But if you are mailing cards or packages here are the

December 18 - Priority Mailing
December 23 - Overnight and 2-Day Air

PS: I recommend UPS, it may cost a bit more, but will get it there,
usually faster too!

and flat for mailing too! Remember if your envelope is bulky,
you'll need extra postage.
Included is this fun die to make your own envelopes too! I used a few fun Kat Scrappiness dies, pattern papers (great use of scraps), a little alcohol marker coloring, and a few hole punch embellishments made from glitter cardstock scraps.
These dies are so fun and versatile for the holidays or any time of year!

My first card I used these amazing papers from the ‘My Favorite Christmas’ kit by @echoparkpaper to create this wonderful holiday card with NO stamping & no die cutting. A kit makes it easy to mass produce with coordinating pieces. Love it!

My second card I turned the sketch sideways and used just one stamp from @unitystampco from a holiday KOM, but you could totally use a text box from a holiday kit, or some ephemera as a focal point.
The papers I used are from @authentiquepaper -anchored; MME-all things chalk; and @teresacollinsstudio -everyday moments; and one scrap piece (the 24 banner in the corner) from @graphic45.
Along with distress oxide inks shown above to create an "ink smooshing" background; Versafine Clair-Noctorine black ink; MISTI stamping tool; Gina Marie Design Products-Stitched Rectangle dies; and a few MME adhesive enamel dots to create this amazing holiday card.

Hi everybody! I hope this finds you safe and warm from all the crazy winter storms lately. We were colder than Anchorage, Alaska at 14* and got 6" of snow this week in northern Alabama, which is the most we've gotten since moving here. Our thoughts and prayers are with those of you affected by these storms and hope this is over soon!

It's such a wonderful reason to celebrate! I have made many friendships in this big beautiful crafty community we all share, that I will treasure forever, and I hope you have too! You crafters are the kindest and most supportive group of people I have ever been apart of. And I'm honored to have you as friends, peers, and mentors. Thank you for your friendships, inspiration, and continued support of my crafty adventures!

Let's get started!
Card #1 is perfect for many Fall occasions with it's rich colors, gold embossed sentiment, and paired with some pretty fall papers.

Complete step by step tutorial below the card...

Tutorial: I started with an 4.25x5.5" A2 cardbase in kraft cardstock (not shown) by Papertrey Ink and cut a brown plaid patterned paper the same size and adhered to card base. I try every month to use up some scraps, so I used a piece of orange gingham patterned paper and adhered to the center of our card. Using my MISTI stamping tool, I stamped this lovely fall coffee cup stamp on white cardstock, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, because it’s an alcohol friendly ink. And colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, cut it out, and adhered to the card. Next I stamped the sentiment with Versamark clear ink on AC brown cardstock, sprinkled with Ranger gold embossing powder, and heat set. Using a Big Shot Machine, I cut out the sentiment with a fishtail/banner die, but I did not adhere it just yet. I dug in my scrap pile and found a couple more coordinating paper prints and tore the bottoms off and layered them, like shown, and adhered to the back of the sentiment banner. Then I adhered the whole sentiment banner to the card. And added Tim Holtz twine and MME enamel dots to complete this fall beauty celebrating friendship. Card #2 is a Spooktacular card with all my favorite ghoulfriends colored up for Halloween or anytime in this simple slimline design.

Tutorial: I started with a 4.25x9.5" slimline card base in blue cardstock by Papertrey Ink. It’s my favorite for card bases because it’s 100-110lb quality card stock. Then I cut a piece of spiderweb patterned paper to 4x6” and adhered to the card. Using my MISTI stamping tool I lined up a few of my favorite spooky stamp characters, inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. And colored with the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers shown. Trimmed to fit and then adhered the image to the card. Stamped sentiment with Distress Oxide Ink-Wilted Violet on white cardstock, trimmed, and adhered to black cardstock. Trimmed and adhered to the card. And finished this spooktacular card with a few black adhesive rhinestones. Unity Stamps: Mummy (and sentiment), Frank, Bride of Frank, and Count

Merry Christmas on July 25th!!! I know it's Summer, but as card makers we are always thinking ahead and don't want to wait until December to make our holiday cards. Because it takes planning, creating, and inspiration. And the holidays will be here before we know it and we only have 4 months!!!

So if you're tired of being stressed out, rushing around trying to make cards, or guilty for not sending out any. Then this Holiday Hop is the perfect inspiration to get those creative juices flowing to help you build your stash. Which means, if you start now, make a few cards a day, you'll have so many cards done and ready to mail. So you can enjoy the holiday season!

For today's project I used two amazing digital stamp sets to create this darling scene using some of my favorite things.

Let's get started...

Tutorial: I started with an piece of black 12x12 cardstock and cut for a 7.5 x 6.25" card base. I made this bigger to frame it and hang in my kitchen at my coffee station during the holidays. But you can totally make this a card in any size and I'll tell you how below. Then I cut a piece of plaid holiday patterned paper 7.25x6" adhered to the card base.

Let's work on the image. The wonderful thing about these digital stamps is you can resize them and mix and match to create whatever scene you want. So, if you make A2 cards or larger, you can. I use this FREE WPS Office document program to copy and paste digital images to be able to layer, move images around, and resize them. It's a really easy program for pc's and macs and more. I love layering and creating new, fun scenes, like this one. See pictures below to continue the tutorial…

I copied and pasted the coffee mug and sentiment from one Christmas set. And the mice, cinnamon sticks, and beans from a Fall set. And lined them up, flipped one of the mice so their facing each other, resized them all on the same 8.5x11" layout. Once I had the images where I wanted them, I grouped them as one piece, saved, and renamed as a “new” document in the same file as my original stamp set, to use again for future use.

Then I printed my image on my HP inkjet printer using the thin brand of HL white cardstock, and colored it with Distress Ink colors shown above, water color pencils, and an H2O brush. Just lightly with very little water, as to keep the color vibrant, and not warp the paper.

Next I trimmed out the image down to 6.5x 5.5" , cut the corners with a corner rounder punch, added a few brown distress dots inked to the edges like coffee stains, and adhered to the card. Added just a touch of bling with a gold glitter pen around the rim of the cup and center of the poinsettia's. And adhered a holiday ribbon on to two opposite corners to keep this card flat for mailing. Or fame it for the holidays, like I plan to do!

Tip: You can certainly make these smaller, A2 size (5.5x4.25") for instance, and group 4 images on one sheet of 8.5x11" white card stock and print four images at a time for mass producing your holiday cards.

Polka Dot Orchard + Birthday Cupcake Card

Hi everybody! TGIF! I'm celebrating Summer with these fun cupcakes I created using digital stamps from ==> Polka Dot Orchard!!! They have many wonderful stamps to choose from and they're ALL ON SALE for 35% off for a limited time!!!

For today's project I knew I wanted to use these fantastic cupcakes, because we all like variety. Right?!? Of course we do! So I combined these three digital stamp sets: Love And A Fabulous Cupcake, Younger Than Tomorrow, and Happy Star (cupcake and sentiment)! And they are yummy enough to eat!

Let's get started...

Tutorial: I started with an piece of blue 12x12 cardstock, cut in half, and folded for a 6x6" card base. And cut a piece of gingham patterned paper 4x 5.5," then used a border punch down the left side, and adhered to the card base.

Let's work on the image. The beauty of these digital stamps is you can resize them. So, if you make A2 cards or larger, you can. I use a FREE WPS Office document program to copy and paste digital images to be able to layer, move images around, and resize them. I love layering and creating scenes. And it’s so fun and easy to do with digital stamps and this free program. See pictures below to continue the tutorial…

Next I copied and pasted the 3 different cupcakes from each set, lined them up, resized them, and copied and pasted the sentiment all on the same 8.5x11" sheet. Once I had the images where I wanted them, I grouped them as one piece, saved, and renamed as a “new” document in the same file as my original stamp set, to use again for future use.

Then I printed my image on my HP inkjet printer using the thin brand of HL white cardstock, because I'm coloring with colored pencils and gamsol for blending today.

Once I finished coloring and blending, I took out my die cutting machine and cut out the cupcake image with a stitched rectangle die. And trimmed out the sentiment and cut the right end into a banner with scissors. Using distress inks, a speckled stencil, and a blending brush, I added some "birthday confetti" to the sentiment and above the cupcakes.

Next I adhered a piece of blue ric rac ribbon down the left side of the card with liquid glue. Then adhered the sentiment and the cupcake image to the card. And added a few adhesive rhinestones to the center cupcake to finish this yummy-licious card!

Our theme for April is...
a Sketch!
That's right...we're all creating with <== this same sketch to show you several different possibilities. And having a sketch really gives you a good starting point, especially when you're stumped for a design. And I loved it, so I have two cards to share with you this month!

My card today is a lovely Spring card, great for Easter Sun, April 12th. But also a Spring Birthday, Hello, Thinking of You, and many more. I knew I wanted to use this bunny stamp set, because I hadn't used it before. Shocking, right!?! And I paired it with some of my favs: Graphic 45 patterned paper, heat embossing, sparkle, and this gorgeous purple rose ribbon.

Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of green Papertrey Ink 110lb cardstock, folded in half, and trimmed down to 6 x 4¾” as my card base. Then cut a 6 x 4½” gorgeous piece of Graphic 45-Place In Time-March patterned paper, which shows two patterns on the one panel, and sprayed with both glimmer mist colors in a splat box. Set aside to dry. It's hard to photograph the shimmer, but it's there. Once dry, adhered to the card base. Click pictures below to get the step by step tutorial for this card...

Ok. Let’s assemble our card. I put adhesive on the back of the purple circle and adhered the purple rose ribbon around the circle. Gave the roses a little fluff around the edges. Popped the bunny up with 3D foam tape, adhered to the purple circle, and adhered the whole piece to the card panel. And adhered the sentiment with 3D form tape to the card to complete this sparkly spring beauty.

My second card may look familiar, because it's the "leftover" mermaid piece from last months mermaid shaker card. See, I told you I'd make another card with that beautiful mermaid and here she is. This set is gorgeous and so fun to play with. And I paired her with an underwater ocean patterned paper and one of the "Big" sentiment kits. So wonderful for many occasions!

Tutorial: Tutorial: I started with an 8.5x11” piece of light blue Papertrey Ink 110lb cardstock, folded in half, and trimmed down to 7x5” as our card base. Then cut a 7 x 4½” amazing piece of under the sea patterned paper and adhered to the card base. Click pictures below to get the step by step tutorial for this card...

Okay, I only have our gorgeous mermaid circle left to adhere her directly to the ocean panel. And added just a bit of clear sparkle pen to the shells and flowers to make her hair sparkle. And this amazing creature is done! And that’s how I used my “leftovers” with patterned paper and a sketch design! Pretty, right?

I'm excited to tell you this "Blue Beauty" mermaid card was chosen as one of the Pantone Colors of the year and published in the
Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Fall 2020 issue. Yay!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Polka Dot Orchard Fall Blessings Card

Welcome to the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! This is a HUGE Hop that runs through Nov. 8, 2019 and is a week dedicated to Coffee, Tea, Cider, and Cocoa Loving Papercrafters! For my caffeinated project today I chose this amazing digital stamp set
"A Grateful Heart" by Polka Dot Orchard
It's a wonderful set for many occasions, with different sentiments, but this one is especially great for Thanksgiving! Don't you think?

How I made this Fall Card: I started with two pieces of 8.5x11" orange cardstock, folded in half, and trimmed down to 6.5x5" for the card base. Cut the second piece in half and trimmed down to fit card base exactly, but for embossing. Sorry I'm into odd sized cards lately. The A2's seem too small and 5x7" seem to large. So, I'm somewhere in the middle. For the second orange piece, and using a die cutting machine, place inside an embossing folder, to get this amazing tree impression texture that won't show though to the inside, because of this extra step, but you will eventually adhere it to the front of the card base, but not yet...just set aside for a moment. Next I printed the image on X-Press It white cardstock, layered a sentiment inside, and printed on an HP Laserjet printer. Using the die cutting machine again, cut out image with a stitched die. This time I water colored lightly, with very little water, as to not warp my paper, and dipped my water brush directly into the distress ink colors to achieve this look. And used a blending brush to add color around the edges. Then adhered the image to a brown piece of cardstock for matting and adhered to the orange embossed panel. And adhered the whole panel to the card base as our front piece. I am mad for plaids...so I had to add some to this Fall card. So I cut a strip of this plaid patterned paper 1x5" and cut down one side with a border punch and adhered to card. Added some twine and adhered the whole image panel to the card base. Then added a touch of bling to the pumpkins and berries to make them sparkle, of course, and this Fall beauty is complete and pretty flat for mailing too!

Our theme for this months Blog Hop is...Autumn Colors!!!
I love all holidays, but Autumn is my favorite time of year with all the leaves changing colors, pumpkin spice everything appears, and we have lots of family birthdays to celebrate too! So, that means...I make A LOT of cards!
This month I was inspired by the 200 foot trees in the park by my house. And I kid you not, they are really that tall and surround our neighborhood too. I took this picture last Autumn when the trees were full of all the colors of autumn and it was magnificent.

So because this is my favorite time of year, I couldn't help myself and made a few cards with some old and new to me techniques to share with you all!

My 1st card I knew I wanted lots of leaves and color with ink smooshing, alcohol markers, and die cuts on a fairly large card.

My 2nd card I used masking, ink blending, and distress micro glaze techniques on a layered card with die cut frames.

My 3rd card is similar to my 2nd card with masking, ink blending, and distress micro glaze techniques on a layered card with die cut frames, but slightly different with a mix of Autumn patterns and colors.

Below is another peak at all 3 of my Autumn cards for this month!

Special Holiday Tags + Epiphany Tools

Happy December everybody! Only 24 days until Christmas. Can you believe it? Where did the year go? Yikes! So much to do...gotta get busy. And one of my holiday traditions is to make lots of special holiday tags to have ready for present wrapping in the coming weeks. And this year I used Epiphany Crafts Tools to make them super special, one of a kind, fast and easy, even the kids can help too! And NO stamping, but you could. Maybe a little to/from stamped on the back or on frosty's lower half.

Happy Birthday, Mom! We had a lovely special lunch just me, my little sister, and our parents. It's never just the four of us, with no kids and no husbands. It's usually the fourteen of us or more. lol. And my mom finally attended her first craft show and even won some free products too! A very fun day and lots of laughs with my sister too (Riley stamps are a hoot).

And as some of you may or may not know, this time of year, I make A LOT of family birthday cards (like nine, before I start Christmas cards) and Fall themes are my absolute favorite, but this year I wanted to make something different and try some different products and techniques.
