Spring is slowly approaching and makes me think of my two babies born this time of year. I thought I would share this adorable baby shower invitation I created for my sisters twin baby shower. She always said she'd get pregnant "when pigs fly." So, this is where the theme originated. She found these adorable stamps with the exact sentiment she wanted, these adorable pigs with wings, the barn, and the field by There She Goes Again stamps.
I stamped on printed paper, cut each piece out and pieced together to create the front of our postcard invitation. My sister was having boy/girl twins, so I chose pink and blue printed papers for the pigs and added stickles glitter glue to the wings for some sparkle.

Flip over the invitation and this is what the back looks like. Sorry, I had to "X" out some info for privacy, but you can see I did some paper piecing here too. I love the pink gingham and the blue polka dotted printed papers. The blue paper also had these adorable animal babies at the bottom of the paper. So, I wanted to make sure I included them too. I felt the back needed more pink, so I added a 1" strip of the pink gingham paper and used scallop decorative scissors to add an adorable scalloped edge to the top. I then scanned the entire front and back designs into my computer so I could add the text to the invitation.
Tip: Once I had everything laid out we sent the invitation to an online printer to mass produce. You certainly can print from home, but I really like Vistaprint.com as they gave me a great price for 100 invitations, included the envelopes, and matching address labels.
