How I made this card:
Who’s ready for summer? I am counting the days until I’m at the beach or going boating. And since school is almost out here and Father’s Day is sneaking up on us Sunday, June 19th, I thought I better get a head start on cards for the special Dads in my life.
I created a card base with blue card stock to mimic the sky. Then stamped the background directly with the confetti stamp to look like rain drops in a clear ink. I chose a pattern paper that had clouds at the top and a big cruise ship on the bottom, but the ship didn’t really fit my theme. So, I covered it up with a strip of pattern paper with flags and clouds on it. And because it's from the same collection it goes pretty well. I really wanted to use the cloud part. So, I trimmed around the clouds, lightly inked around the edges, stamped more confetti on the clouds, like rain drops, and adhered to card base with 3D pop dots.
Next I stamped balloons on a ledger type pattern paper in yellow, red, and blue ink for texture and interest, die cut them all out, and adhered with 3D pop dots. Matching stamps and die cuts is a card makers dream. Love them! It makes cutting stamped images out so much easier. And these sets are very versatile for Father's Day, Birthdays, Graduation, New Baby, and so much more! Next attach colored bakers twine with a drop of Zig glue in a swirly pattern. And adhere super tiny blue adhesive rhinestones to the center of the blue balloon for just a touch of sparkle. Because they are masculine cards after all. Thanks for hopping by! ~Kim
