4 CC #313 {Let's Get Sentimental}
How I made this card:
I started with a black card base, adhered pattern paper to the top, which by the way is side “B” from a Christmas collection that had snowflakes on side “A”, but you’d never know. It doesn’t look like Christmas, does it? Then I heat embossed the sentiment on the bottom for a lovely raised look and adhered two rows of rose ribbon.
Next I created a personal monogram. Do you remember spiral art from childhood? It’s making a comeback in yarn art. So, I thought I’d give it a try. I die cut a scallop circle from white cardstock and created a spiral effect by wrapping black and white bakers twine around each scallop and adhered a piece of tape on the back to hold it in place..
Then I die cut a stitched circle from black cardstock and adhered it to the top of the white yarn art circle. Stamped an “S” on white cardstock in black ink, placed it in the Epiphany round punch, put an epoxy bubble cap over the “S”, and punched it out for the perfect personalized embellishment. Adhere to black cardstock circle and attach the whole layered piece to the card.
For the inside I cut a piece of white cardstock, stamped sentiment in black, and adhered to card base. I punched out a coordinating piece of pattern paper with the Epiphany round punch and adhered to card to complete the look. And there you have a personalized card with a special touch! I love this punch. I used it to punch out a stamp letter and pattern paper and the possibilities are endless. I hope I’ve inspired you to create all kinds of monogrammed projects. Until next time…enjoy your special moments and Congratulations to my dear daughter, our oldest, we’re so darn proud of you! ~Kim
