In the last 2yrs I've had a lot of change. Some good. Some terrible. As some of you may or may not know I moved 1000mi away from Colorado to the south.
And during that same time my little sister passed away from breast cancer at 46yrs old, leaving behind her husband and
her then 3yr old twins.
We are still grieving and trying to find our "new" normal. And her kids are happy and thriving and started kindergarten last month.
I'm so happy I got to visit with them, my oldest two kids, & good friends last week in Denver. As we shared stories, hugs, love, laughter,
tears, and remembrance of
their ​​sweet mamma.

Our theme for this months Blog Hop is...Change!!!
This is my favorite time of year, because it's my Birthday month ya'll! But also because the leaves change colors and pumpkins are everywhere. I just love it! So what inspires me about change??? It had me really thinking... ​

​While still thinking about our changes theme...I came across this quote <== and it really resonated with me. In order for me to heal and grow I am trying to  accept the many changes I had recently, keep on moving forward and learning to live again. So embrace those changes, because life is too short! And my crafts have been my salvation! A lot of what I create is in honor of my sister by using her craft supplies that she left for me to use on my projects.  And I feel like I'm keeping her spirit alive too!

So in honor of my sister and our theme about change, I was inspired by our many family birthdays, which are in the Fall from September through early December. The orange colors, pumpkins everywhere, and Fall family fun. My sister had one of her kids birthday parties at the pumpkin patch, as her twins were born in October too! It was so much fun!  And this stamp reminded me of the pumpkin patch. What do you like about Fall?

How I made todays card: I started with a 110lb kraft cardstock 8.5x11", folded in half and trimmed down to 4 7/8 x 6 1/2." Cut an orange checkered pattern paper 1/4" smaller than the base and adhered to the card.

​Using a die cutting machine and white cardstock I cut out a panel 5 5/8 x 5" using a stitched die. I knew I didn't want to leave it white and then I came across some Glimmer Mist in brass bell color, that used to belong to my sister! And it was the perfect fall color to "change" my stark white panel into something wonderful. I sprayed the entire panel within a spray box, as you'll want to contain it, because it goes everywhere. Set aside and allow to dry. Once dry, I used my MISTI stamping tool and placed this panel down, lined up my stamp, and inked up this fantastic pumpkin border stamp with clear pigment ink, sprinkled with orange embossing powder, and heat set. Adhered a couple layers of ribbon and then adhered the pumpkin image to the card. The Glimmer Mist has mica in it, so it is super shiny and oh so pretty! Just look at that sheen and shimmer below...

Once again, I used the MISTI stamping tool and inked up a new sentiment with clear pigment ink and stamped on a golden yellow cardstock, sprinkled with Chestnut brown embossing powder, and heat set. Using a die cut machine, I cut out a circle with a stitched die and adhered to the card with dimensional foam tape. Added a few enamel dots for fun and this pumpkin patch is newly reinvented and oh so shimmery! What do you think?
