Hi everybody! Do you make Easter cards? If so, share them with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram we'd love to see them. Easter is this Sunday, April 1st, which really snuck up on me, but with a kit or a few supplies you still have 4 days to get them in the mail.
This week I thought I'd show you one of the Easter cards I made using a masculine kit to create this cute little scene. I will show you how to use a scrapbooking or card making kit and repurpose it for another occasion, create bunnies from patterned paper, and how to make clouds and hedges out of circle die cuts. This week I thought I'd show you one of the Easter cards I made using a masculine kit to create this cute little scene. I will show you how to use a scrapbooking or card making kit and repurpose it for another occasion, create bunnies from patterned paper, and how to make clouds and hedges out of circle die cuts. I started with this masculine kit...really. I liked the green patterns, the plaid and some of the patterns looked liked Easter eggs. Don't you think? And when you use a kit, all the colors, patterns, and pieces coordinate nicely.
For my card base I chose a blue polka dot for the sky, which kind of looks like snow, because well...it can snow in the spring. Next I chose this fun green hexagon pattern as my grass. Cut equal panels and adhere to an A2 card base. And cut a thin strip of plaid patterned paper and adhere to center of card.

This punch out die cut sheet is included in the Kit and is full of fun shapes. I used the upper green scallop circle and the bottom light blue scallop circle and the centers come apart so you can use them for other projects. And I also punched out the two butterflies and the sun like sentiment in the middle (it has rays).
Here is a close up of the three hedges I created from the green scallop circle and popped them up with 3D foam dots.
The bunnies I printed on pattern paper from a template I found "here." Fussy cut them out and popped them up with 3D foam dots.
Here I punched out two butterflies, layered them together, adhered to the panel, and added yellow adhesive rhinestones.
And for my final step I cut the blue scallop circle in half to resemble a cloud, punched out the sunny sentiment and attached the two together, adhered to the card panel, and added yellow adhesive rhinestones.
