So I was inspired to create this sugar plum fairy card with these amazing CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to honor our family traditions. Isn't she pretty? She is great for a holiday card, but also a thank you card, or even a wintery birthday card too! So fun!
I started with an A2 piece of white water color cardstock and did an ink smooshing technique to create this amazing background. Once dry, I did a 2nd generation stamping technique that involves a double stamp. Using my MISTI stamp tool, I inked up some snowflake stamps with a light lilac distress ink and clean the stamps gently.
Then keeping everything in place (paper and stamps) on my MISTI, re-ink the snowflakes a 2nd time and stamp right over the now light snowflakes using a clear ink, so the color shows through. Then sprinkled with holographic embossing powder for sparkle and heat set. And that's how you can turn any dye ink into an embossed product. And adhere background panel to the card base. Fun right?
Next I created the snow bank from white textured card stock using a hillside die cut and added glitter glue to the top edge for a snowy sparkle effect. Once dry, I did another 2nd generation technique, but this time I stamped the sentiment with a dark blue distress ink, then stamped again with the clear ink over the top, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set. And adhere to the card panel with dimensional foam tape.
I also did 2nd generation stamping again and stamped her on white cardstock in a purple distress ink, then again with a clear ink over the top, sprinkled with holographic embossing powder to make her sparkle and heat set. Then cut her out with the matching die cut. Added adhesive gems to her tutu, her hair, and the snowflakes in the background to make this sparkle even more. Then added an action wobble spring to make her dance and adhere her to the card to complete this traditional classic.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Holidays! ~Kim
