Napkin cards are still all the rage and there are so many tutorials and videos using all kinds of products. So, I decided to use what I had and simplify it. And it worked really well. As you can see I only used a few supplies...
Open up your napkin and peel apart if it's two layers. You just want one layer. The one I used had images on all four quadrants. Some do and some don't. Cut out each quadrant or the ones you want to use. Cut a piece of cardstock about 4-5", any color will do, as nobody will see it and I ran it through my Xyron 500 sticker maker. Peal it off the sheet and lay the napkin down onto the sticky side of the cardstock and smooth it out gently. Trim any excess cardstock off, as it will be sticky and you don't need that part. This is where I stamped "Happy Thanksgiving" directly onto the napkin. Let it dry a few minutes. Take the versamark ink pad and ink over the whole napkin, that is already adhered to the cardstock, making it stiff, sprinkle with iridescent or holographic embossing powder, and set the powder with a heat gun. Voila! Sparkly gorgeousness!
Then I adhered my napkin card to a piece of burgundy cardstock for a matte or framed look. I cut a piece of green swiss dot cardstock and adhered to the card base. And adhered the napkin card to the card base too. Added the ribbon and stamped the sentiment inside the card. You will never look at napkins the same way again. Happy Shopping!
Tip: You could use clear embossing powder and it would be shiny, but not sparkly. White or colored embossing powder won't work, because it would cover up the napkin design and you wouldn't see through the image. You could use a dry adhesive runner on the cardstock to lay the napkin on or maybe Tombow liquid glue, but make sure you get all the edges, so it lays flat. But I haven't tried those ideas out yet. So, if you do, let me know if it works.
