Earlier this month we were having record hot temperatures here in Colorado, which is rare this time of year, but because of that we still have lots of fall leaves on the trees and on the ground. So, I went out and gathered some yellow aspens and red maple leaves from my backyard to make this project uniquely Colorado. And I'm glad I did, because we got our first snow yesterday.
Next I punched out name tags from the leaves with a ticket punch. That's right, punches aren't just for paper anymore. Then I wrote each guests name on a leaf. I tried several types of pens and white journaling pen did not work, but Sharpie and LePen did. Then I covered each piece with a clear epoxy bubble sticker for dimension.
To make the napkin ring, believe it or not, I made these from empty toilet paper rolls cut in half and decorated with pattern paper, orange burlap cut in strips, paper flowers, and leaves adhered with glue dots or adhesive. Then I adhered a name tag to each napkin ring for a uniquely personalized project for our special dinner.
From our house to yours, I am so thankful you follow my crafty adventures...Happy Thanksgiving! ~Kim and family
