Hi everybody! This week I'm still working on a few Valentine cards and today I'm sharing a pretty easy, but colorful card with some of my favorite CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. They have this darling ballerina stamp that is so versatile for so many occasions and the matching die is a card makers dream. Also, this amazing swoosh stamp I used in the background for a monochromatic look and a super fun banner stamp with a matching die too! For tutorial and more details click Read More ==>

Summer is winding down, but the temperatures are heating back up here in the South and we're seeing an influx of dragonflies and really BIG ones!
Bigger than I've ever seen in my whole life. I captured a picture of one from my garden and it's as big as my hand. No joke. It looks like one from my card. Don't you think?

Hi everybody! Today I'm sharing three floral cards you can use for Birthdays, Mother's Day, and many occasions any time of year. And daisies always remind me of long sunny summer days and mountain wildflowers just swaying in the breeze. And I'll show you how to use the same stamp set and get three different looks. Easy peasy! Right? One of my favorite cardstocks for card bases is from Papertrey Ink, because it's sturdy, strong, and a very good quality. I got a huge variety pack of colors a while back of 8.5x11" (when they were on sale) and cut in half it will give you two A2 card bases. So, that's how I started these card bases. Next I cut scraps from pattern papers, some the same size as my base or cut in half and mix and match. It's a great way to use up your scraps we all horde. Once you decide, then adhere to the card base. Then I stamped several daisies on white water color paper in pink and yellow on the left and right sides. Leaving the centers empty. As you can see in the pictures above, I left the daisy stamp in place on the MISTI tool, marked a corner of my white paper and just flipped the paper over, lined it up with the mark. And it was ready to ink up and stamp the other side perfectly even. Then adhere to the card base. And stamped a few single daisies too for my centers. I am in no way a water color expert...but I am still learning too and I'm always trying new things. So, for these daisies I experimented with Distress Markers and colored my paint palette a few like colors, added some water, and used an H20 brush to blend and color just one of the daisies for the centers of the cards and set aside to dry. Added some glitter glue or sequins to make them sparkle, of course. Once dry, fussy cut the daisies out. And adhered to centers of the cards with foam tape. Then I took a coordinating strip of pattern paper and stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set and adhered to the front of the cards. You can make a lot of these cards to have on hand for any occasion, just by using coordinating papers, colors, or scraps and the same stamp set.
Have a great summer and be sure to stop and smell the daisies! ~Kim Challenges: HLS July Watercolour Challenge Simon Says Monday Challenge: Summer Fun!
