Happy New Year!!!
Hi everybody! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year! Sorry I've been away from blogging for awhile. I got overwhelmed with living through our home renovations and had no where to craft; had some life changes and work changes. So I had to step back from things to simplify my life.
The good news is I became a 2x Gigi (Grandma) last year. And I'm over the moon in love with my two Granddaughters Kairi (Kigh-ree) Anastasia (who has all of my initials which is super special) and Sawyer Aspen (who in addition to all my immediate family have "A" middle names). It was so very special that both my older kids followed this family tradition that started with 3 of us and has blossomed into the eight of us.
The babies are 6mo apart, live in different states, and got to meet each other this past Fall and it was so cute and made this Gigi's heart so full. There is nothing more heartwarming and proud to see my kids becoming parents. I was very fortunate to have had the time off from my job to travel to Colorado and Washington and visit with both my granddaughters and our family last year. It was an incredibly special time to bond with them while they are babies. It was just wonderful.
Below is Baby Kairi Anastasia who turns 1yrs old this month, with her parents, all my kids, and our adventures in Colorado. Where we had snow in AL when we left for CO and arrived with the snowy Rocky Mountains in Feb 2025. I was blessed to have spent a whole month with them and have some wonderful family time. I can't believe this was a year ago and Kairi turns 1yrs old this month.

Below is baby Sawyer Aspen who turns 6mo old this month, with her parents, and our adventures in Washington State. I was blessed to be present the day she was born and spend a whole month with them. Her parents live on an island NW of Seattle and their backyard is a magical forest full of deer and other animals and a view of the ocean. I also experienced my first Tsunami warning. But we were ok, as their house is on a tall hill at least 300ft above sea level. We were lucky enough to see the Aurora Borialis/Northern Lights for a whole week, which none of us had ever seen before. It was so amazing! Another day we got an alert the whales were near us. So I said "lets go" and we saw so many Orca's and a baby calf so close to the shore. They are one my favorite animals and it was an amazing day. Then we took a weekend trip NE into the Cascade Mountains to a "Hallmark" town, Leavenworth, WA, where they film some winter or holiday movies. But we were taking Sawyer to visit Santa on his reindeer farm and have some fun. It was an amazing trip.
It's a new year and I've had a new awakening. I am still living in renovations which is super frustrating that I won't bore you with the details, but it does have it's challenges. There might be light at the end of the tunnel. Someday! IDK I hope! LOL!
I'm in retail management at BBW, so I threw myself into my work and the busy holiday season to avoid what was happening at home. But I realized I missed the things that made me happy and creative. So I'm slowly going to get back to my crafty things.
