Card #1: Happy Snow Days
I've wanted to cut into this Graphic 45 Place in Time Calendar Collection Kit for a while now and this January girl was perfect for a "wintery" card. I love the vintage vibe of the post card and this calendar girl is so fancy and elegant in her early 1900's winter fashion.

She's so pretty for Holiday cards or if you don't send any, she'd be great for winter birthdays, thinking of you, or winter thank you cards too.

This is an A2 size, 5.5" x 4.25" with NO stamping and pretty flat for mailing. I varied from the sketch just a little, because I wanted to show more of the postcard layer with the snowflakes. You can find this paper collection on Amazon or FB Marketplace too.

I used Bobunny Double Dot navy patterned paper to frame a couple layers and create a banner; NEW Unity Scallops & Rectangles (nesting dies); Big Shot die cutting machine; Spectrum Noir clear glitter/shimmer brush on the girls hat and coat to give her some sparkle; adhered each layer with Scor-Pal-Scor-Tape 1/2" (tear tape adhesive at Scrapbookpal) and adhered to a sturdy card base from Papertrey Ink cardstock (not shown) to complete this winter beauty.

Card #2: Believe

I love snowmen, so I paired this darling Unity "Love you forever snowman" set with some patterned paper scraps from an Echo Park Christmas kit, including the sentiment, and BoBunny double dot green patterned paper background. And colored this with a few alcohol markers to create a fun holiday card.

(I chose F and G. I made a Fancy wintery vintage holiday card and Fussy cut the sentiment out to match. And it's hard to see/photograph, but I also added some glitter/shimmer to her hat and coat for sparkle.)

The idea behind this hop started a few years ago with 10 amazing women card makers who wanted to encourage other women through their crafts. Just a small word of encouragement from fellow women goes a long way and can do wonders.

Our theme for March is a Color Throw Down:
Kraft, Black, & White
Fun, right? I love kraft and I don't use it as much as I should. So this was challenging for me to ONLY use kraft, black, and white for everything, as I love ALL the colors!
So here's what I came up with..

Let's Get Started...

Card #1: Motorcycle Birthday Card
I used Unity stamps, the new Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies), a little heat embossing, and kept it simple and masculine.

Card #2: A Beautiful Feather

I am trying to use Unity stamps I've never used before... that's one of my goals this year, is to use "new to me" or never used stamps! And this beautiful feather, believe it or not, I hadn't used until now. But I just love it for so many occasions.

Card #3: Butterflies

Kat Scrappiness Sale + All Occasion Love Cards

Todays project I'm sharing a wonderful "lovey dovey" all occasion mini shaker card using these amazing shaker bits from
Kat Scrappiness (KS).
They are a one stop shop for so many crafty products.

I started with putting my patterned papers together to see what I liked together. I liked the NEW KS Spectrum of Love Slimline paper pack, it's full of wonderful rainbow colors and hearts.

I wanted a neutral card, so I chose the gray/white hearts as the background for this mini shaker card and trimmed it to the size of the KS Slimline Diamond Wire die. Using a 5x7" Tonic clear Shaker envelope, I placed the gray/white hearts panel in the center, folded it over (as it's bigger than the paper panel), and adhered three sides of the clear shaker envelope, leaving one side open to add the KS Heart Sprinkles (shaker bits) and added a few extra die cut red hearts leftover from another KS card inside too and then sealed it up.

I liked the EP black pattern as my outside frame. I cut it out with the KS Mini Slimline Diamond Wire & Wood Grain Frame Die using a Big Shot die cutting machine, and adhered that panel to the top of the clear shaker envelope. Set a side for a moment...

While I created a card base from black 110lb cardstock, trimmed the "lips" EP pattern paper to fit across the card, leaving a bit of black cardstock border at the top and bottom, and adhered to the card base. And then firmly attached the shaker panel to the card.

Next using my MISTI stamping tool, I lined up two sentiments side by side from the KS Friendship Greetings stamp set, inked them up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on black cardstock, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled over red embossing power, tapped it off, and heat set.

I cut a strip of EP "lips" patterned paper. Trimmed down the sentiment on black cardstock, cut banners to each end and adhered to the "lips" patterned paper strip and adhered to the center of the card.

Then I added a leftover red heart die cut to the left side of the sentiment. Added some red enamel dots, and colored in a few red hearts along the frame with a red alcohol marker to complete this lovely card. So great for any lovey dovey occasion (Birthdays, Anniversary, Valentines, etc...) any time of year!

I used Unity products: Rustic Winter Wishes paper pack and the NEW Scallops & Rectangles (nesting dies); Big Shot die cutting machine; AC black cardstock, satin ribbon, and red twine; added a few adhesive rhinestones; and adhered with Scor-Pal-Scor-Tape 1/2" (tear tape adhesive at Scrapbookpal) to a sturdy card base from Papertrey Ink cardstock (not shown) to complete these beauties.

Fun, right? I'm excited, as I've been making cards all week for my GIU-Growing in Unity week and was kind of out of ideas.
BAM! A new sketch is the perfect inspiration and this is an easy one.

Let's Get Started...

Card #1: Kiss the world with kindness
I used "new to me" Unity stamps, the new Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies), a little heat embossing, and this gorgeous Unity paper pack from fall.

And on all my projects today I am using all Unity stamps I've never used before... that's one of my goals this year, is to use "new to me" or never used stamps! What are your crafting goals this year?

Supplies: Unity Scallops & Rectangles (nesting dies), Kiss the World stamp set, Autumn Dream (paper pack). Big Shot die cutting machine. MISTI Stamping Tool. Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Inks: Picked Raspberry (lips) and Seedless Preserves and clear embossing powder. Marvy Uchida Heat Embossing Tool. Papertrey black and purple cardstock. And repurposed ribbon (I tend to collect them). Scor-Pal - Scor-Tape 1/2" (tear tape adhesive at Scrapbookpal).

Card #2: Just a Note
I used a "new to me" Unity sentiment stamp, the new Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies), heat embossing on kraft with this amazing background stamp, and repurposed this Unity pattern paper from Christmas.

Supplies: Unity Scallops & Rectangles (nesting dies), Brutus Monroe Lace Background stamp, Gotta Love Sentiments, Rustic Winter Wishes (holiday paper pack). Big Shot die cutting machine. MISTI Stamping Tool. Versamark clear ink. Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Ink-Pine Needles and Seafoam white embossing powder. Marvy Uchida Heat Embossing Tool. Brutus Monroe Lunghbag (kraft) cardstock. Bobunny Double Dot pattern paper. Adhesive glitter enamel dots and AC red satin ribbon. Scor-Pal - Scor-Tape 1/2" (tear tape adhesive at Scrapbookpal).

Card #3: Love
I used a "new to me" Unity paper pack and scraps, the new Unity Scallop & Rectangle (nesting dies), a little heat embossing, and a touch of bling!

Growing in Unity Day 5 + Moose Card

Hi everybody! Welcome back to Day 5, the last day of my Growing in Unity week, as it's coming to an end. It's been amazing! Thank you Unity for choosing me! And thank you all for coming back each day. It's been so heartwarming reading through all your kind and encouraging comments. But it doesn't have to end... Let's stay connected!

I truly love our craft community and how kind and supportive you all are to each other. I've had a blast all week going through my Unity stamps to find some "new to me" stamps, some favorites to share, and coming up with some techniques. I hope you've enjoyed this week too!

And the crafty adventure continues...

Today's project is another masculine card, "surprise!" (lol) Not! As I informed you yesterday that my whole week would focus on masculine cards. They are challenging at times and let's be real... we need more ideas and inspiration! So I hope you've enjoyed them.

Today I'm using a "new to me" background stamp and stencil combo, my ALL time favorite stamp set (the moose), and more heat embossing! I was inspired by the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, through Canada, and all the way to Denali National Park in Alaska on my many travels.

On this card I used the Woodland Layers Stamp and the Mountain Scapes (stencil), because I've never used them before, and OH they make some gorgeous backgrounds!
First on white cardstock I created the mountain background with the stencil, blending brushes, and a few Distress Oxide Inks:
Mountains: Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans
Sky: Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge

Next I placed the angled tree stamp from the Woodland Layers set in my MISTI stamping tool, inked it up with Distress Oxide Inks-Pine Needles and Black Soot to darken the tress. And removed from the MISTI.

To create the lake I inked up my MISTI with Distress Oxide Inks: Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Brushed Corduroy and sprayed them with water. And dipped a water brush into the inks to "paint" in the lake and a beach or land.

Then I placed the moose in the MISTI, inked it up with Distress Oxide Inks-Brushed Corduroy, Rusty Hinge, and Walnut Stain, and stamped on a white piece of cardstock. Wiped off the ink, and re-inked the antlers with VersaFine Clair Ink-Pinecone, stamped the moose again, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set.
OH! Isn't he handsome? I just love him!

This one I call Color/Clear (colored pigment ink/clear embossing powder)
for the Moose.

I love this technique when you have endless colors of "thick" or pigmented inks, but not all the pretty embossing powder colors.

Hi everybody! Welcome back to Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week, that's filled with fun Unity projects, and some of my favorite things, or whatever I found in my craft room, because I'm kind of in limbo between two houses. Today's project is another masculine card, because they can be hard to make. I get it, as I have 3 sons, and I'm always looking for new designs and this card is great for many occasions.

Today I'm using some more of my favorite things, like background stamps, some "new to me" Unity Stamps, and more heat embossing techniques!

On this card I used "She Sells Sea Shells" Background stamp, because it's a favorite of mine for so many great projects.
I placed the stamp in my MISTI stamping tool, inked it up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on an ivory piece of cardstock, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled with blue distress embossing powder, and heat set.

Now I will tell you, distress embossing powder is different, as it says it's "weather worn" and not shiny, glaze, or opaque. Once it's heat set, it feels almost gritty like sand. It's old, but still works. It's the original distress powders we all have in our stash.
But it turned out really kind of cool and fit with my beachy, nautical theme.

Next I placed a piece of white cardstock in my MISTI, inked it up with Ranger Distress Oxide ink-Faded Jeans, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. This one is shiny!

Then I stamped Ranger Distress Oxide ink-Faded Jeans on white cardstock for the sentiment with clear embossing powder too!
Don't you just love the "magic" of heat embossing?

I love this technique when you have endless colors of "thick" or pigmented inks, but not all the pretty embossing powder colors.

This one I call Clear/Distress (clear ink/distress embossing powder)
for the background.
and Color/Clear (colored pigment ink/clear embossing powder)
for the lighthouse image and the sentiment.

Hi everybody! Today's project is another very special birthday card for my other twin son who turned 19yrs old this month too! Because masculine cards can be challenging at times, as I have 3 sons, I'm always looking for new ideas and this design is great for many occasions.

One of my New Years Resolutions (ok, probably the only one, let's be real) (lol) is to use stamps or products this year, that I haven't used before. As we've all got them... especially after the many great Unity sales, so let's use those stamps people!

Today I'm using some more of my favorite things, like background stamps, patterned paper, some "new to me" Unity Stamps, more heat embossing techniques, and a little bling! Yes, boys can have bling too... you'll see!

On this card I used "Just A Number Background" stamp that I placed in my MISTI stamping tool, inked it up with Versamark clear ink, stamped on this amazing blue wood patterned paper, removed from the MISTI, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set. And used Ranger Distress Oxide ink-Faded Jeans on the sentiment "happy birthday" stamp with clear embossing powder. And watch the "magic."

Before I get started... here's an update on my life, if you've been following me or not, we're still renovating a new house and I'm hopeful to move in by the Spring. Who knows?!? I'm hopeful. I've stopped asking my husband when, as we've had several delays and set backs.
It will happen when it happens.
I'm still in limbo with my crafting products split between two houses, which has made crafting a challenge. But because this months theme is CAS,
I was able to carve out some time and join the crafty fun this month!

Our theme for January is... CAS = Clean and Simple!!!
Fun, right? Well, if you know me or follow me, then you know I love patterned paper, lots of layers, and bling. So CAS is very challenging for me and not typical of what I usually make. But because my supplies are split between two houses right now, I gave it a whirl with what I had on my desk, and this is what I came up with. If I can do it, anyone can!

I kept asking myself "what is CAS?" "What is it really?" "What does it mean to me?" And then I'd add something (lol). So I looked up some CAS Rules and found these on several CAS Challenge sites and this is what I followed:
Clean and Simple (CAS) Definition:
*One main image
*Lots of open space (uncluttered)
*Limited layers & embellishments
*Keep it Simple
*Quick & easy to recreate

Let's Get Started...

Card #1: Coffee... you're my favorite, duh!
I used three layers, because I'm easing myself into the CAS concept here, by using just 3 simple layers. (lol) I cut my 8.5"x11" white cardstock long ways, where my card folds at the top and opens at the bottom to get this look.
And on all my projects today I am using all Unity stamps I've never used before... that's one of my goals this year, is to use "new to me" or never used stamps! What are your crafting goals this year?

Supplies: Unity Stamps: Coffee side by side and Whit's Words sentiment set. Other Supplies: Brutus Monroe Lunchbag (kraft) Cardstock; Papertrey Ink 110lb white cardstock; MISTI Stamping Tool; VersaFine Clair ink-Pinecone; Spectrum Noir red alcohol marker; crinkled vintage ribbon; Scor-tape (tear tape double sided adhesive) by Scor-Pal

Card #2: All Bundled Up... brrr it's been COLD in the South!
I used two layers on this card, because I can't not use any layers yet! (lol) But it's getting less! That's pretty simple for me, but I'm determined to get even more CAS. Lets see if I can do it...

I only used 2 stamps from the same stamp set to keep it simple. And here is a close up of the Diamond Stickles glitter glue on the snowflakes, for a touch of sparkle, with less mess. Love it!

Card #3: Where Your Peeps Are
I used two layers here with more open space, and getting more CAS, for me. Don't you think?
I could make a bunch of these and send to friends or family, just to say "hello," so cute!

Card #4: Sent With Love
OMGoodness I did it!!! I can't believe it, but I only used ONE layer here, with some open space, and only bakers twine as an embellishment and NO bling! That's pretty BIG for me to do! And it's cute, right?
Again I cut my cardstock long ways, but turned the card to fold on the left and open on the right. I can make a bunch of these for Valentines Day or any lovey dovey day! It's a cute itty bitty set.

Supplies: Unity Stamps: Do Not Bend itty bitty set. Other Supplies: Papertrey Ink 110lb white cardstock; MISTI Stamping Tool; Ranger Ink Distress Oxide Inks-Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple; AC red/white bakers twine.

Hi everybody! Winter has arrived and it's cold, then hot, and rainy, but holiday card making season is here and I wanted to share our December Sketch Challenge for the
Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers FB group

We are a group of card makers that will be sharing Christmas,
Winter Holidays, or Winter-y cards every month, ALL year long!

A: My cards are done and mailed. But I'm still doing my holiday baking for special gifts for friends and family. And I'm sorting of thinking about what crafty things to make for Valentines Day!

A little update on my life...
I am STILL renovating everything in a new house with my husband and hopefully moving after the holidays. We've had some set backs and delays. And I've been in limbo, between two houses for the last few months. All of my craft supplies have been packed up for months and I'm not able to create much these days. I've stopped asking my husband "when are we moving", so it will happen when it happens. I just have to be patient.

In my crafty absence, my dear dear crafty friend and Design Teammate, Robyn, from What's Brewin' from Robyn's Nest has allowed me to share some more of her beautiful holiday cards with you. So check her out!

And here are a few other wonderful cards from my amazing BYSHC Design Teammates too! Aren't they fantastic? Love them!

which I'm not complaining, but the calendar says
Christmas is right around the corner.

Q: How many holiday cards do you make???
A: I send out 75-100 and I use to make each individually, but I work full time and life gets in the way of my crafty time. So the last few years, I make one special card, scan it in, and have it mass printed. And then I add little special touches. Like an inside stamped sentiment, add bling, or sparkle, or a ribbon. And I love to stamp the envelopes to coordinate too!

Here's an update on my life. I went to Denver last month to honor my little sister, who passed away 4yrs ago, at 46yrs old, from breast cancer way too young! So, because I care... get a mammogram sooner than later!

We haven't moved into our new house yet, as we both changed jobs in August, which has slowed down renovations, and we've had some delays.
All is well, but most of my craft stuff is still packed up, so I unboxed a few things to hop this month, as I miss you all & crafting so much!
But I'll be taking a small break from hopping/blogging for the next couple months, so we can hopefully finish renovating and get moved in soon!

Here is my project:
I keep a file for ALL my BYSHCardmakers monthly challenge sketches and decided I wanted to use Sketch #11 from our June challenge.
It's a fun design that inspired me to flip it, turn it horizontal to fit this beautiful poinsettia stamp, and change it up a bit.

TUTORIAL: I started with an A2 powder blue 110lb cardstock base and stamped light gray snowflakes around the edges for a little more details. I had this amazing powder blue patterned paper with gold flecks from BoBunny Vintage Double Dot that I cut out with a stitched rectangle die set from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs and my Big Shot die cutting machine. And adhered this panel to a piece of black cardstock to frame it and adhered to card base.

TUTORIAL Con't: I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp this amazing slimline Poinsettia stamp by Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. with a blue dye ink and did some light water coloring. Using my Big Shot and a circle die cutting set from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs, I cut out the image and a black cardstock border in the next size larger and adhered them together. Then trimmed a bit off the left side. And adhered to the card. Adhered a piece of sparkly silver snowflake ribbon (from Michaels) to the card, added some smoky blue adhesive pearls, and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment ribbon. And I to make it sparkle even more I added a touch of clear sparkle pen by Spectrum Noir brushed onto the poinsettia. It's hard to photograph, but you can kind of see the sparkle below in this close up.

Hi everybody! Fall is here and it's finally cooling off in the South, but it's still green, not much changing yet. But I'm on my holiday card journey to share our monthly Sketch Challenges
for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers FB group

Our sketch for this month is a mini version of a slimline card with all the dimensions listed below. They are so fun to use up your scraps, a favorite pattern paper, or holiday stamps, and have more space to create with.

And if you all didn't know, I am STILL renovating everything in a new house with my husband, packing, and moving someday soon! I am STILL in this process, for the last few months, as we've had some delays. And all of my craft supplies are packed up and I am not able to create anything, just yet.

It's been a very LONG process with setbacks and delays and now I'm just hoping to be settled by Christmas. But it's killing me not to have this creative outlet and make something. So I pulled a few craft things out for some upcoming special events in Oct and Nov, so stay tuned. As I've only been able to scroll my Instagram and Pinterest pages for inspiration, but it does keep me connected to our crafting community and my crafty friends.

In my crafty absence, my dear crafty friend and Design Teammate, Robyn, from What's Brewin' from Robyn's Nest has allowed me to share some of her gorgeous mini slimline cards with you this month.

I've been seeing a lot of cardinals in and around our yard lately. They say they are spirit animals or angels of lost loved ones with a message of love for you. I believe that. It's comforting to think they are are near me.

They inspired me to use this amazing bird stamp from Unity that could be a cardinal, a blue jay, or any kind of bird, depending on how you color it. And I paired it with these wonderful trees from Unity Stamp Co too.

I stamped the tree's with Distress Oxide Ink-peeled paint and lightly water painted the bird with Distress Ink-Candied Apple and Vintage Photo on the tree. With a touch of Atyou Spica-yellow glitter pen on the leaves.

Using a Big Shot die cutting machine, cut out the bird with a circle die from Gina Marie Design Products. Added an A/C ribbon and finished with a sticker sentiment from an Echo Park Paper-My Favorite Christmas holiday paper kit. Just a few products and a little coloring to complete this holiday visitor.

My first card I used these amazing papers from the ‘My Favorite Christmas’ kit by @echoparkpaper to create this wonderful holiday card with NO stamping & no die cutting. A kit makes it easy to mass produce with coordinating pieces. Love it!

My second card I turned the sketch sideways and used just one stamp from @unitystampco from a holiday KOM, but you could totally use a text box from a holiday kit, or some ephemera as a focal point.
The papers I used are from @authentiquepaper -anchored; MME-all things chalk; and @teresacollinsstudio -everyday moments; and one scrap piece (the 24 banner in the corner) from @graphic45.
Along with distress oxide inks shown above to create an "ink smooshing" background; Versafine Clair-Noctorine black ink; MISTI stamping tool; Gina Marie Design Products-Stitched Rectangle dies; and a few MME adhesive enamel dots to create this amazing holiday card.

Card #1: Spring Meadow Moose
I think many of you know I adore this moose stamp. I've used it many times for masculine cards, holiday cards, and a thanksgiving card published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine "here." for their 2020 fall issue.

But today, I've used him for Spring and a little differently. Can you figure out how? ........Give up?

Ok, I'll tell you... I stamped the moose as a mirror image of the original. Gotcha! (lol) I know, I can't believe it worked either, as I've tried all kinds of things, but this time it really worked! (lol)

He's usually looking to the left, but I needed him looking to the right into the meadow. And I did that using my MISTI stamping tool, Unity's Mirror Stamping Tool, and Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. And I combined the two Moose stamp sets to create a spring meadow scene.

Card #2: Corner Flower
I really wanted to create a simple and neutral looking card. And this stamp is great for all different kinds of cards all year long!

Card #3: Slimline Flowers
Because Unity has tons of beautiful flower stamps and believe it or not, I hadn't stamped this one until now. Isn't she pretty?
I combined my love of "ink smooshing" and flowers and made this lovely slimline card. And if you don't know what that means, it is a longer, thinner card that fits in a #10 business envelope. Usually with dimensions of approx 3.5" x 8.5."
